CMLL (TUE) 02/12/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Bengala & Metatrón b Akuma & Zayco
2) Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior b Acero, Bam Bam, Fantasy
Pequeno Olimpico and Pequeno Universo replaced Pequeno Nitro and Pierrothito. Bam Bam seemed to be wearing Rey Misterio Jr.’s old chain mail outfit. Rudos took 1/3.
3) Diamante, Rey Cometa, Sagrado b Arkángel de la Muerte, Skándalo, Vangelis
Tecnicos took 1/3, Sagrado beating an overconfident Vangelis
4) Pólvora b Guerrero Maya Jr. [lightning]
Polvora used his new valagueza/knee to the face move to win in about six minutes.
5) Fuego, Marco Corleone, Máximo b Rey Escorpión, Terrible, Tiger
Fuego replaced Rush, said to be hurt in last night’s Arena Puebla match. Rush did appear before the crowd.
6) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Shocker

I believe Rush is hurt, but it’s kind of hilarious for Fuego – who’s been in a shoulder harness for weeks – to be an injury replacement.

1) In Memoriam & Sádico b Javier Cruz Jr. & Virgo
Rudos took 2/3.
2) Bárbaro Cavernario & Inquisidor b Esfinge & Sensei
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Hombre Bala Jr., Starman, Super Halcón Jr. b Hijo del Signo, Hooligan, Nosferatu
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Super Porky b Black Warrior, Ephesto, Misterioso Jr.
Tecnicos took 1/3.
5) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, La Sombra b Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero
Sombra was announced as a replacement for Thunder (muscle strain) on Friday. Tecnicos took 2/3.

I missed it looking at Monday’s results, but Sombra replaced Thunder in the semimain. Maybe Thunder’s not on week’s Puebla not because he’s hurt, and not because he’s coming to Mexico City? Also, the tecnico minis won the opener on that excessive DQ, and Rush took the main event with the Rush Driver with no obvious injury. Porra Fresa mentions the show was very quick by Puebla standards, going only an hour and a half.

Silencio retained the Arena el Jaguar Championship over Ultimo Guerrero on Sunday. Both men’s seconds interfered leading to a foul finish.

Hijo del Santo appeared a WBC (Boxing) press conference to promote Todo x el Todo. Peculiarly, he gave the debut show of this season of his show as March 23rd at Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera, not the March 2nd show in Arena Lopez Mateos.

CMLL Gaceta has a Stuka & Rey Cometa interview. The storyline appears to be that Okumura made his own challenge because he doesn’t want Namajague to take the mask match with Stuka, and wasn’t expecting Rey Cometa to get involved.

IWL says their 02/24 show will be taped for TVC Deportes. I’d assume this is just highlights for Tercera Caida.

Astro de Plata is having his operation today.

Arena Coliseo Chihuahua was reopened this past weekend, after two months of remodeling. It looks nice in that photo, and they say the seating capacity has been expanded by 50%, and the promoter mentions wanting to become a draw for tourists. They’ll hold the official re-inauguration on March 16 with CMLL luchadors. One of the main local feuds here is Chabela vs (ex-IWRG) Chicano.

Terra posted highlights (finishes) of Sunday’s Arena Coliseo show on their website.
