1) Dinamic Black & Serpiente de Oro b Epidemia & Fulgore I
Dinamic Black replaced Johnny Rivera, Draogn Celestial replaced Epidemia.
2) Centvrión, Freelance, Freyser DQ Carta Brava Jr., Eita, Imposible
Freyser & Freelance replaced Dinamic Black & Golden Magic. Eita was hurt in the third fall off a Centurion forearm/clothesline. He was strechered to the back and where they checked on his neck. Impossible helped Eita to the back, and Carta Brava ripped off Centurion’s mask for the DQ to end the match.
3) Eterno, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Oficial 911 b Golden Magic, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Trauma I
Golden Magic replaced Relampago, while Oficial 911 took Canis Lupus’ place. Rudos jumped the tencicos took the first, tecnicos rallied in the second, Wagner fouled Pirata and pinned him in the third.
4) el Ángel b Trauma II [IWRG IC MIDDLE]
Angel is champion. Trauma took the first fall on the mat, so Angel worked more rudo brawling in the second and won that fall. Oficial 911 got all sorts of involved in the third, hitting both men with chairs shots and fouling Trauma to give Angel the win. First defense.
5) Dr. Cerebro b Cerebro Negro [hair]
Negro won the first with the Doctor’s Cerebrina. Negro got overconfident in the second, and Doctor rallied back to beat him with his own Cerebrina, spiking him on the mat. Seconds Carta Brava and Golden Magic got involved in the second, with Golden Magic being caught with a chair Carta Brava had been planning on using. Magic was kicked out. While that was going on, Negro tried to hit Cerebro with a chair, but connected with Carta Brava and knocked him out. Dr. Cerbero won with a powerbomb followed by a Devil’s Wings. Negro got his hair cut in the ring.

Black Terry Jr. has posted video of the Angel vs Trauma II (fall 1, fall 2, fall 3) and is beginning to post the main event (fall 1, fall 2, fall 3 to come). Watch the videos now, because all but the first falls will be private after this week. There’s also video of Eita’s neck being checked after his injury.

Hacker is listed as retaining the title, which means he must’ve won it from Eita at some point. they changed which title was on the line because Eita wasn’t there (thanks, GenickBruch!)  Sadico was scheduled but did not participate. Eita did not appear here (needed to be at Naucalpan), while Eterno was moved to a later match.

Said to be a great match.
7) Psicosis b Jorge Quebrada, Pesadilla, Joe Lider, Muerte Bucanera, Hormiga

8) Perro Mocho Jr. L Demente Extreme, Paranoiko, Eterno [hair, mask]
Eterno replaced Onita Satana, and was the first to save his hair. Dement Xtreme was next, and Paranoiko defeated Perro Mocho Jr. and tgoko his hair.
9) Ciclope L Drastik Boy and Aero Boy [mask]
Ciclope and Drastik Boy tried to work together, but Drastik hit Ciclope with a chair by mistake and Aeroboy beat Ciclope to escape the match. Hardcore stunts included a bed of spikes on fire, which caused Ciclope severe burns. He was then beat, and unmasked as Jhonny Serrano Yedra, originally from Pachuca, 21 years ago, and 6 years a wrestler.

CMLL.com’s Alexis Salazar laughed at the idea of a rumored person coming into CMLL. Like I said yesterday, CMLL bringing in Chris Masters doesn’t seem to fit what with they do, and maybe that’s because he’s not actually the surprise.

According to Los Colisenos, the Mexico City Civil Protection agency has recommended closing Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca, the old fencing venue from the Mexico City Olympics which is now used for many different sports, lucha libre included. The danger is the roof is in bad shape and may collapse. If it is ever closed, it would affect Toryumon Mexico most notably, that’s the building they mostly run. Perros del Mal started out promoting in that building, but has since moved to Plan Sexenal. AAA Fusion also started out in that building.

Kaving posted on Box Y Lucha that his father Villano V will be retiring in March. They want to run a retirement show but are unsure if they can do to the economy, and that’s really the reason he’s retiring, there’s not enough work that’s worth his time. (Which probably means should there ever be better conditions, the retirement might not last.)

On his latest podcast, Konnan answers emailed questions. He says mask losses went $30-$50K around the time he lost his mask, but today, “there are guys who are asking for upwards of $200K”. He’s asked a follow up about which luchador in AAA has the most valuable mask, and comes back with four: Octagon, LA Park, La Parka and Dr. Wagner Jr. If we’re trying to figure out who that 200K for, figure Octagon and La Parka wouldn’t be able to get as much since they can’t go outside of AAA to lose their mask, and I’ve always been told Wagner wants more for his mask than Park.

Konnan’s also asked about Zorro’s disappearance from TV, and says it was a combination of a lot of things (injuries, personal issues and bad matches caused by the other two), but they’re setting a new Zorro angle now. This podcast must’ve been taped a while ago, because Konnan pushed the Zorro psychiatrist visit from a couple weekends back as upcoming but also the start of a big new storyline for Zorro.

Konnan thinks WWE is going to go after another Mexican to the US again and didn’t want to suggest anyone to help WWE out. He also talks about how wrestlers take care of each other, which is a good long explanation that’s worth listening to, as is the rest of the podcast.

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 12/23/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante & El Tapatío vs Acertijo & Demonio Rojo
2) Idolo & Sky Kid vs Èvola & Sádico
3) Gallo, Leo, León Blanco vs Espectrum, In Memoriam, Maléfico
4) Máscara Dorada & Titán vs Felino & Pólvora
5) Shocker vs Mr. Niebla

If you’ve been watching el Luchador – and I’m not sure how many there are of you – all season has built up a Shocker vs Mr. Niebla match. That match did happen, though for a serious build it turned out to be a comedy match. (I’m sure it’ll be edited to be serious – and the actual point of the match was Shocker proposing to Leslie after it.) It would make a lot of sense to build up a match on El Luchador and then try to draw a gate on it, but a Sunday Guadalajara show is not the normal location for something like that – it’s probably just a happy coincidence it’s happening days after the final.

CMLL (FRI) 12/28/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante & Indigo vs Acertijo & Thunder Boy
2) El Divino, Esfinge, Sky Kid vs Èvola, In Memoriam, Sádico
3) Silueta vs Zeuxis [REINA IJ]
4) Javier Cruz, Javier Cruz Jr., Smaker vs Espectrum, Magnum, Maléfico
5) Sagrado vs Ráfaga [OCCIDENTE LH]
Sagrado is the champion
6) Blue Panther & Máscara Dorada vs Mr. Niebla & Negro Casas

Return of the Friday night show. First since July. They stopped running them because they didn’t draw and I don’t suspect this show (or this week of shows) is going to be much different. Still, an interesting card with hometown heroes in singles matches: – Sagrado defending his title, and Silueta facing Zeuxis in a singles match for the first time since Zeuxis unmasked her two years ago here. That match is listed on CMLL’s site as a lightning match, but the Arena Coliseo Guadalajara says it’ll be for Silueta’s Reina Internationl Junior championship.
