1) Apocalipsis & Inquisidor b Leono & Robin
Rudos took 1/3.
2) Metálico, Super Halcón Jr., Tigre Blanco DQ Artillero, Súper Comando, Taurus
Straight falls, Super Comando unmasked Metalico.
3) Diamante, Rey Cometa, Sagrado b Puma, Sangre Azteca, Vangelis
Rey Cometa made this show. Tecnicos took 2/3, Sagrado getting the win after Azteca & Puma made a mistake. Cometa yanked Puma’s mask off after the match.
4) La Sombra b Volador Jr.Negro CasasÁngel de OroMephistoLa MáscaraTigerMáscara DoradaOlímpicoDelta [Copa Jr., semifinal]
Changed to a cibernetico this year. Early eliminations went Delta, Olimpico (by Mascara), Mascara Dorada (by Mephisto top rope Devil’s Wings), Tiger, La Mascara (by Volador), Mephisto (by Sombra.) Final four were Angel de Oro, Sombra, Volador and Negro Casas. Negro continued his success over Oro to eliminate him, Sombra beat Negro with his own casita, and then beat Volador with his own Spanish Fly as well to advance to to the 12/14 final. Sombra beat the last three rudos by himself. Zacarias and Mije fought late in the match.
5) Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión b Atlantis, Shocker, Titán
Titan had new music. Rudos took 1/3. Atlantis got Averno up in the Atlantida but accidentally knocked down Tirantes. Averno escaped, tried to foul Atlantis, and settled for taking his mask and rolling him up for the win. Atlantis challenged Averno to one more fall and Averno bailed.

Before the Copa Jr., a mystery man was shown on the big screen, promising to arrive in 2013. Relampago’s name has come up in the last few days (see below) but I would’ve think they would’ve kept him hidden if they planned to debut him as a mystery.

Radio CMLL have “Revolucionarios del Terror” as the name for Rey Escorpion, Dragon Rojo and Polvora. It hasn’t been mentioned elsewhere yet, but it fits their new look.

AAA was part of a Quien Pinta Por La Corona press conference yesterday in Mexico City. The news, or maybe just clarification, is the Mexico City event will be two days for lucha libre – one day of open tryouts on Saturday 12/08 and the overall finals on Sunday. It’d been previously said this show would only be the finals, and a lot of people who might have tried to qualify in Mexico City traveled to the tryouts in Puebla or elsewhere previously for their chance. (There doesn’t seem to be a rule about trying out multiple times, so those who didn’t make it can try once again next weekend.) There hasn’t been anyone as talked about well regarded as Dinastia, Samuray del Sol and Daga last year so far, but perhaps that can be fixed with one more tryout.

They also announced the lineup for the spot show that always accompanies a QPPLC session (via R de Rudo). Dinastia and Daga are still referred to as the only winners from last year, but La Magnifica surprisingly travels to Mexico City for this card. (She’s also working with DTU on Friday in Queretaro, but I’m not sure which leads to which.) Also, Mini Abismo Negro makes his first Mexico City appearance in over two years. His name has popped up occasionally on AAA shows in southern Mexico in that time, and he’s said to have a slow recovery from a leg injury.

Chat/live coverage change

There probably will be a chat. I am unsure when it will start. My plans for  Sunday have changed and I may not be around until after the Terra show starts, maybe even not until sometime during the show. My apologizes. I’ll try to put something on Twitter if I have a better idea tomorrow.

Lucha Libre in Japan

12/01 NJPW: Hiroshi Tanahashi [O], Ryusuke Taguchi, KUSHIDA b Rush, Diamante Azul [X], BUSHI
Tanahashi beating Azul, and not unpushed junior heavyweight Bushi, seems like a sign about how Azul did on this tour (not well) and his chances of returning (not well.) Hopefully I’m just reading too much into it.

5) La Sombra vs Último Guerrero [lightning]
6) Diamante Azul, Máscara Dorada, Rush vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Azul & Rush return from Japan, find someone they can defeat.

Sombra & Ultimo Guerrero as one fall, 10 minutes, makes it a bit more tolerable. Sombra’s having a really busy stretch, but one where he’s winning a lot. He’s probably facing a rudo next week. Felino and Misterioso are probably ruled out. Not sure Puma should be, but Tonga or previous champion Rojo seem more likely.

Hooligan makes British Night!

Metalico and Super Comando may actually be feuding!
