Fox cable channels are off some systems in Mexico due to a disagrement off rights fees. These things can take a while to settle sometimes, but they always get settled. In the meantime, CMLL on Fox Sports will be seen by few people. I’m not sure it affects en Busca de un Idolo – the channel will be missing, but no one seems to be watching this show but us.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: They aired the Puebla main event, which means they should be onto Naucalpan this week. Maybe time for LA Park vs Wagner and not much more?

AAA-TVC: I went 0-2 last week, which means I can just reuse those predictions: the women’s match and Ciber/Wagner/Vampiro vs Chessman/Perro/Park from this weekend’s taping.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: Atlantis, Sombra, Not Mistico vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Ultimo Guerrero.

FOX: Averno vs Titan!

52MX: Sombra, Marco, Dorada vs Triple T

C3: UG Guerreros vs the rebels.

GDL: La Mascara vs Volador

EstrellaTV (Puebla): Mephisto vs Mistico, which means Mistico driving his shoulder into the mat (and surgery) around 5:57 pm CT. I wouldn’t air the match that ends with my great gold/silver hope injuring himself, but this show don’t care.

El Luchador: I’ve been running one ahead on these. “The demands grow for the four luchadors. Dragon Lee asks Shocker to be his new coach. While Shocker tests the limits of the handsome flyer, the 1000% Guapo and Leslie finally find out the sex of their baby. Princes Blanca must decide whether to reconcile with Felino or prove she’s national champion by risking her hair. Bucanero, in his new life, doubts a returns to theraphy while risking his title to be proven as the best rudo in history.”

En Busca de un Idolo: Titan vs Polvora, Diamante vs Puma King. Airing on Friday this week.

Terra: Mascara, Sombra, Titan vs Dragon Rojo, Rey Escorpion, Terrible.

== Other ==

IWRG-TVC Deportes: Canius Lupusl Damian, Eterno vs Angel, Pantera, Veneno

IWRG-AYM Sports: Factor vs Cien Caras Jr. for the Rey del Ring title.

ACM: Maybe more left over matches?

top six stories of the last four weeks

  1. Oficial Fierro lost his mask in the main event of IWRG’s annual Castle of Terror show. el Angel, on a winning streak of late, took the rudo’s mask.
  2. The 12/02 Guerra de Titanes lineup was announced: the main event will be a six person cage match with Chessman, Vampiro, Cibernetico, Perro Aguayo Jr., LA Park and Dr. Wagner with the loser losing mask or hair. Also, Mesias defends his title versus Texano. AAA’s spent year plus setting up a Jeff Jarrett vs LA Park match, but Jarrett is nowhere to be seen. A TNA wrestler will be wrestling in the undercard.
  3. Dr. Wagner Jr. started rumors that Dr. Wagner Jr. was leaving AAA. AAA has not said anything, though they haven’t said anything when other guys have left recently. Wagner’s working a lot of outside shows and only scheduled for Guerra de Titanes for AAA right now.
  4. Mistico suffered a shoulder injury on a botched shooting star press. Early reports suggested he’d be out 2 months, but CMLL says he’ll be back two weeks from now.
  5. Octagon gave Samuray del Sol the Octagon Jr. character on the most recent Naucalpan taping. The same taping was highlighted by a crazy LA Park vs Dr. Wagner brawl
  6. Hijo del Santo, Villano IV, Blue Demon, and Fuerza Guerrera feuded on a show at Arena Neza and challenged each other for a mask match on 01/01/13
  • Atlantis, Delta, and Guerrero Maya (Reyes del Atlantida) recaputered the Mexican National Trios titles from Volador, Black Warrior and Mr. Aguila in a rematch of the title change.
  • CMLL and AAA’s Televisa TV shows were abruptly moved to Sunday for one week. AAA, at least online, did not appear to know the show had been moved until it just wasn’t on the air. CMLL put out the day/time change, but Televisa aired the show an hour late from even that. The move meant no episode of CMLL aired in the US.
  • Mascara Dorada lost the CMLL Welterweight Championship to Polvora in a shocking upset. It appears Polvora got the win because he’s being moved up the card to round out the Diamante Azul & Rey Escorpion trio
  • Tama Tonga defeated Diamante Azul in a singles match, then two day later beat Azul & partner Atlantis for the tag team titles, teaming with Terrible. The title change was a big surprise.
  • Pequeno Warrior lost his mask in a sudden cage match in Guadalajara. The match had a seven day build, after Warrior cheated Shockercito to win a Pequeno Reyes del Aire cibernetico. Shockercito got his revenge. Many luchadors appeared to suffer injuries during the match, most notable Astral falling off the cage.
  • AAA taped Fusion in Deportivo Reynosa, in a show mostly building to Guerra de Titanes but also including Daga advacing in the Fusion title tournament.
  • AAA also taped Fusion in Arena Neza. The crowd was about half full, but better than the last taping. Dr. Wagner and LA Park turned on each other in the main event tag match, while Fenix advanced in the Fusion title tournament. Vampiro was scheduled to appear, claimed he was never told, and was blasted on the show by (current arch enemy) Chessman.
  • A benefit show will be held for Hector Garza this weekend, and will also be taped for AAA’s Fusion show.
  • NJPW and CMLL announced the lineup for the FantasticaMania show: Mistico, Titan, La Sombra, Rush, La Mascara, Mascara Dorada, Maximo, Diamante, Volador Jr., Mephisto, Dragon Rojo Jr., Rey Bucanero, Euforia, Misterioso and Okumura. Lineup subject to change, since Mistico & Bucanero are out due to injury.
  • Ultimo Guerrero continued to feud with Rey Escorpion & Dragon Rojo. The rebels won in trios matches, but Ultimo Guerrero out cheated Rey Escorpion in a singles match.
  • Both Extreme Tiger and Decnnis confirmed they were leaving AAA
  • DTU announced a five show tour for their fifth anniversary
  • Rocky Santana took Iron Love’s hair.
  • People who kept their title: Angel, Dragon Rojo, Negro Navarro & Trauma I, Bufete del Amor, Titan
  • AYM is being dropped in the US, meaning no more IWRG on my TV.

DTU in SLP, Tercera Caida, Pantera I

DTU (TUE) 11/20/2012 Salon La Carreta, San Luis Potosi [Sobre el Ring]
1) Anthrax, Furia Salaje, Muerte Extranjera b Black Angel, Exterminador, Kancerberius
2) Crazy Power I & Crazy Power II b Lucky Boy & Niño de Ébano and Eragon Kid & Septimo Dragon
3) Nino Hamburguesa & Paloma Rouse DRAW Galaxy & Ranieth
Ranieth and Nino Hamburguesa double pinned. Nino asked Ranieth to be his girlfriend, but she declared she could not date a tecnico and Galaxy took her away. X-Fly then walked out, said he hated fat people, and attacked Hamburguesa. Ranieth came back to make the save. This sets up a match for DTU’s return.
4) Cerebro Negro & Septimo Dragon b Araña de Plata Jr. & Pequeno Cobra and Aranita & Rev. Angel
Cerebero Negro piledrived Aranita onto some chairs and tables.
5) Hacker b Eita and Flamita and Angel Del Misterio
Not a title match? Eliminations went Eita, Flamita, Angel del Misterio
6) Astro Latino b Alex Guajardo [hair]
Astro Latino won with a top rope spanish fly to take Alex’s hair and keep his own mask.
7) Ciclope & Rey Latino b Drastik Boy & Pesadilla and Centella Inca & X-Fly
X-Fly took advantage of other people’s work to pin Pesadilla (with his feet on the ropes!), then Rey Latino hit Inca with a barbed wire. Cerbero Negro challenged Pesadilla to a title shot on their return to SLP. Crazy Boy made the match.

This week’s Tercera Caida is up on YouTube, though I think it doesn’t actually air until this afternoon. The show set up a Matt Cross vs Daga match, though no date, location, or promotion was announced. (The top 10 moments is separate. Check out the horrible draw for the Mr. Averno vs Mistico Negro match.)

A “Pantera I” has been appearing in matches around Mexico City lately. It’s not the most famous Pantera – the one who lost his mask in CMLL, still wears in IWRG, and has a son who wrestles is technically Pantera II. He and (a) Pantera I were partners when they started out, but information we’ve always had is Pantera I is dead. I’ve seen some guys in really bad shape on lucha libre shows, but never that bad. Ring Extremo interviewed Pantera I, and I have to admit to only half following the conversation, but Pantera I produced proof he owns the right to that name and wants promoters to use him without fear of being used for false advertising the other Pantera. That is a joke to me. Even if he is the rightful Pantera I, he hasn’t used that name in 25 years and only then would’ve used it on small shows which are largely not remembered; there’s no value or credibility in “Pantera I” except for being mistaken as the other Pantera. (Both Panteras act entitled to things they’re really not owed, it’s a larger rant for a different day.) Ring Extremo also has a promo with Pantera I & Mike Segura hyping their participation in the Sobre el Ring tag team tournament, which is doubly interesting because the original Pantera I is Mike Segura’s brother, and it’d be odd for even lucha libre for a guy to be teaming with someone pretending to be his dead brother. Still, his return is so random that it feels like someone else putting on the mask for some other gain, I’m not totally sure what’s going on here.

Volador says he beat La Mascara on Tuesday. I believe Volador.
