Ultimo Guerrero destroys Mistico

Ultimo Guerrero saves Mistico

Atlantis, Mistico, Prince Devitt vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Negro Casas, Último Guerrero : Good match. There’s something messed up about the two técnicos CMLL supports the most being so hated by the crowd – Místico was booed by what should’ve been a more neutral and less hardcore group here. It’s nothing new, just something strange we’ve gotten used to. Match seemed to feature him more than Dragon Rojo & Prince Devitt; the finish was about them, but Mistico’s match ups with Ultimo Guerrero and Negro Casas came off as a bigger deal in the match.

who Rush is in one gif

Rush vs Terrible for the hair 2 3: their best bout yet, though it took just about killing each other. The mask match tended to be about series of moves and playing off past spots in their feud. Rush and Terrible was about making every move count, making everything have a strong impact. They didn’t get everything they wanted – the missed dive spot didn’t come off like they wanted and Terrible’s forehead would not bleed despite what they tried – but Rush and Terrible pulled off the fight they wanted, and for themselves and the fans.

this seemed especially crazy to me

I prefer the live version than the television version. The fancam version unfortunately cuts out before the post match (which looked crazy on TV and probably was edited there), loses the action in the unaccountable dark areas near the barricades and doesn’t communicate the strength of the blows as well, but it tells the story of the match better. Terrible almost won, pushed Rush as far as he could get, and only lost because Rush gets to use a marginally legal move for the win. The moments where Terrible was closest to pulling off a titanic upset (everyone in the crowd knew what the finish was going to be, even as they fiercely rebelled against it) were only seen in the live version. Some of Rush’s most outrageous rudo moments, like the the kick and point shown here, were plainly not shown as well on TV. The story of the as aired match is different and lesser for the editing.

loser? winner?

Terrible might have got his head shaved, but he was the triumphant loser and Rush was the sour winner. It didn’t even come off out of place; Rush’s behavior after the match justified the reaction even if it hadn’t been that way prior. CMLL would do anything to get the fans behind the new Mistico and new Mistico would do the same, but his brother Rush has stopped trying. Rush visibly didn’t like the reaction after the match as much as he later claimed – the man who respects no one was hurt when the fans refused to give him even the slightest bit of respect after the match – but he’s long given up on playing to the fans in any way. It seems like the people in charge have gone with him the last month or so. Maybe they can’t get the approval to schedule Rush on the rudo side, but they can still book him like one. Terrible was the hero for beating the international championship for his home country, and the wronged man for having to lose to a ‘inferior’ wrestler by a cheap move. (Had the blood spot come off, there would’ve been even more sympathy for Terrible.) Rush is the petulant child given treatment no one else is afforded. Fans cheered the guy they were supposed to cheer; now CMLL just needs to figure out a way to actually make money off a hated good guy.
