Polvora goes tumbling

crazy Titan splash

Hombre Bala Jr., Stigma, Super Halcon Jr. vs Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel : right team won a uninteresting match. Tecnicos have a lot of moves now but didn’t impress with how they did them. Super Halcón especially seemed to be frustrating the rudos by moving at half speed and looking unsure of what he was about to do. This would’ve been a lot worse with a lesser rudo crew. Stigma didn’t stick out, didn’t get a lot to do to stick out.

crazy Titan tope con giro

Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Morphosis, Olímpico, Psicosis : Didn’t have great expectations but also didn’t feel this match was as good as it should’ve been. Morphosis was in weird comedy mode, Olímpico is Olímpico, and the técnicos never really got going. Psicosis vs Maya could be an interesting feud, but this seems more just a foul finish to do a foul finish.

Polvora vanishes!

Pólvora vs Titán for the Mexican National Welterweight Championship : Really good match, completely exceeding my expectations. Both guys looked uncommonly sharp and were able to take this match much longer than would been figured. Pólvora bumped all over the place for Titan’s moves (old and new ones brought out for this match) and limited his own bad tendencies as he seems to do in big matches. There were a ton of great believable near falls in the last few minutes; it wasn’t really that much of a break from the CMLL formula but it didn’t feel like a formula match. And this even had a memorable weird skirmish after the fact that I can’t figure out at all. It’d been nice if the finish looked a little better, but much of this match looked really great.

Angel de Oro is a ham

evolution of the new Mistico finish

Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Mistico vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso Jr. : another Místico exhibition match, though maybe a little less Místico and a little more of the other guys. It’s good Angel de Oro got to feud with Negro Casas too, because other way he would surely being going batty by now. It’s also good we aren’t seeing them two times a week every week. Crowd really hated Místico here and I wonder if that’ll be the way once things get to ‘normal’ with him.
