09/14 CMLL Anniversary Show Lineup

CMLL.com

CMLL (FRI) 09/14/2012 Arena Mexico
***79th Anniversary Show***
1) Dalis la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Tiffany
2) Delta, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Niebla Roja
3) Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Titán vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi
4) Rey Cometa vs Puma King [mask]
5) Atlantis, Mistico, Prince Devitt vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Negro Casas, Último Guerrero
6) Rush vs Terrible [hair]

Either the Guerreros get back together this Friday, or that’s a free win for Atlantis, Mistico and Devitt. (They should do Prince Devitt vs Negro Casas this time.)

Probably not much of a story in the bottom half of the card, though they’ve put together a Mexico vs Japan trios in the tercera. (The tercera is the new main event.) That match could be good, as could a lot of the ones on this card.

I was all set to be upset about Dalis making the lineup, but then I couldn’t figure out who she actually be there. I guess maybe Estrellita (who was doing interviews talking about how she should be on this card this morning; this is probably not news to here), but it’s hard to worked in Estrellita’s defense. There’s no good candidates. It’s easier to argue that Lady Apache should be on the show instead of Tiffany, or that CMLL really shouldn’t have a women’s match on the show this year.

ColiseoMania I, Titan reaches the gold

LyC (SUN) 09/02/2012 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [LuchaMania Monterrey]
***ColiseoMania I***
1) Rey Orion b Dranser, Lumino, Chamaco Gurrola, Mini Hator, el Ángel, Exterminio, Zayco (Monterrey), Scravos, Xtreme Boy, Drago, Artillero (Monterrey), Dark Fenix, Tornado [cibernetico]
winner gets to a match with the top guys. Rey Orion pinned Dranser first.
2) Gemelo Muerte I, Gemelo Muerte II, Rico Rodriguez b Dance Boy, Dralion, Erik Ortiz
Rico gave Dralion a Canadian Destroyer onto an object for the win.
3) Big Neurosis & Laredo Kid b Monje Negro Jr. & Potro Jr. and Canek Jr. & Fishman Jr.
The LUM Man in black appeared for this match, but looked a very different side. He hit Fishman Jr. with a weapon and the helped the LUM team destroy both other teams for the no contest, then revealed himself as Hator.
4) Axxel, Humberto Garza Jr., Simbolo b Difunto I, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Villano V
Simbolo & Humberto Garza Jr. replaced Laredo Kid and Super Parka. Hijo del Pirata Morgan replaced Pirata Morgan (who was said to be ill.) Simbolo beat Difunto, but Konnan and company destroyed Simbolo after the match.
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Héctor Garza b Silver King & Super Parka
Super Parka replaced Hijo del Ninja. Silver King Jr. was in their corner. Rudos jumped the tecnicos, tecnicos rallied back to win. Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. attacked Wagner after the match.

Event Notes: 85% to 90% full.

85% to 90% full.

CMLL (TUE) 09/04/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Kaiser Sports (rest), Kaiser Sports (title)]
1) Bobby Zavala & Ramstein b Camaleón & Robin
Ramstein replaced Disturbio.
2) Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel b Hombre Bala Jr., Stigma, Super Halcon Jr.
Stigma replaced Starman. Rudos took 2/3.
3) Virus b Triton [lightning]
Triton missed a dive to the outside very early and hit the barricade instead. Virus controlled from there and won with a casita in 6:30.
4) Morphosis, Olímpico, Psicosis b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa
Rey Cometa replaced Stuka as mention by CMLL’s preview. Rudos took 2/3, Psicosis sneaking in a foul on Maya.
5) Titán b Pólvora [MEX WELTER]
Moved to the semimain. As always, Inquisdior was Polvora’s second and Triton was Titan’s second. Polvora came in as champ and took the first with the Super Polvora Driver. Titan won second with a tornillo and the third with the Titan Special to win the championship.
6) Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Mistico b Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso Jr.
Moved to the main event. Diamante replaced Valiente in the main event, as mentioned by CMLL Gaceta’s preview. Tecnicos took 2/3.

(Results corrected)

Titan credits the support of the fans, who were cheering for the tecnico more than they usually do, for being a difference maker. Titan said he gave 100% effort, but the fans gave another 100% effort cheering him, so 200% was just enough to be Polvora.

Guerrero Maya is about the right level for Psicosis to have a credible feud. I’d be perfectly content with those two replacing Rey Cometa and Puma King as the months long midcard rivalry.

A second consecutive show with four subs. They knew about all of them before the show. As mentioned, CMLL’s preview mentioned two of the subs without acknowledging them as replacements. It’s a two hour bus ride from Puebla on a good day, Stigma had to been alerted that  he was needed in advance as well. Disturbio was double booked in Guadalajara.

Terrible beat Shocker in Guadalajara.
