IWRG (SUN) 07/15/2012 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Alan Extreme & The Mummy b Dragón Celestial & Serpiente de Oro
2) Dowki & Eita b Centvrión & Johnny Rivera
In the third, the tecnicos eliminated Eita, Dowki pinned Rivera, Centvrion tried to pin Dowki a few more times, Eita slipped in and hit Centvrion with his green drum, and Dowki covered for the pin.
3) Oficial Factor, Oficial Rayan, Oficial Spartan b Multifacético, Niko, Suicida
Rudos took 1/3. Factor snuck in a foul on Niko in the last.
4) Chicano, Golden Magic, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Oficial 911, Relampago b Decnnis, Espíritu, Extreme Tiger, Súper Fly, Tito Santana II [Copa High Power]
Match came down to 911, Hijo de Mascara and Espiritu. Espiritu beat 911, then the AAA team distractd the referee so he could cheat. Espiritu went up top to finish Hijo de Mascara, 911 crotched Espiritu, Hijo de Mascara superplexed him for the win. IWRG actually won!
5) Dr. Cerebro, El Mesías, Veneno DRAW Dark Dragon, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan
Rudos jumped the tecnicos and took fall 1, tecnicos came back in fall 2, Pirata & Mesias fouled each other in the third, and Veneno and Hijo de Pirata Morgan pinned them at the same time for the draw.

The IWRG column in SuperLuchas mentioned Freelance was recently hurt at a street show, cracking his head on the pavement on a dive. It looked very serious at the time, turned out to be less so, but he shouldn’t be expected to be around for a while.

Rey Escorpion says the usual bit about his feud with La Mascara, but more interestingly ends the interview by saying he came from Sonora by himself and he doens’t need any one – Ultimo Guerrero or otherwise – to help him get his glory. It’s really impressive that this breakup is happening on the pages of Kaiser Sports, a website that might actually be seen by less people than this one. (Though not any positive sense of the word ‘impressive’.) I assume this is being repeated in Luchas 2000, but that’s not saying a lot.

Pequeno Nitro is calling his Aereo defeating hold “nitroglicerina”.

Rob has highlights of 7/3/12 CMLL C3.

LuchaMania Monterrey has an interview with Big Mama.

  1. Was very sad when I read all that about Freelance in the new Superluchas. Hopefully he takes time to recover and comes back 100%. Maybe with a somewhat toned down style too. I love a crazy flyer as much as the next guy but Freelance takes it to a whole new extreme with stuff he does even on the smallest shows imaginable.
