Mascarita Dorada is awesome, pt 1

Mascarita Dorada vs Mini Psicosis for the AAA World Minis Championship: Started off good, but slowed down to an agonizing crawl for all the Histeria interference spots. No idea if Psicosis legit couldn’t get Dorada’s mask untied or if they thought five minutes of Psicosis trying to untie was fun TV, but it was not too interesting to watch. Plus, they seemed to screw up the visual finish for Dorada. Not good.

Mascarita Dorada is awesome, pt 2

Sexy Star vs Cinthia Moreno, Fabi Apache, Lolita in a bull terrier (chain) match and in a AAA’s Reina de Reinas Tournament match: an amazingly dumb finish to top off a dumb concept. This match had all the excitement of a two chains being hooked together (though the luchadoras did well for themselves given the limitations.) But, just stop to think about it for one second – the last match intended to have a finish where a wrestler got the win but the ref wasn’t aware so it didn’t happen, so it did not count, and this match had a finish where the wrestler got the win and the referee wasn’t aware, but it totally counted. This finish doesn’t make any sense, and those result make absolutely no sense together. It’s also a ref bump and screw job finish for no apparent reason – they’re not headed to Lolita vs Hijo de Tirantes or Lolita vs Sexi Star, it’s not like people were on the fence about booing Sexi Star and one goofy chain match was going to change things. (It could be possible that Sexi hit the corners way too soon, but the result was still poor.)

Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Texano, Toscano for the AAA World Trios Championship: Does Hijo de Tirantes like Consejo? Hate Consejo? Even in the course of the match, this appeared to change fall to fall. This was a good match. A lot of what we’ve seen from the teams in separate matches, but they worked well together and crowd got really into it. It’d be nice if any of Consejo’s moves worked, but the emphasis seems to be on rudos needing to cheat to win any match.
