CMLL En Busca de Un Idolo (05/21/2012, Week 4)

recap

Puma finally wins

Titan vs Puma King: Really fun sub six minute match. These two guys matched up well together for a pair that hasn’t been done a lot. Match itself worked well, with the really nice finish, and worked well within the larger story of Puma King in this tournament. No one who just watches the matches is going to have any idea why Titan is moving on, except that he’s great.

Polvora’s tournament

Diamante vs Pólvora: this started out okay, then ended really quick and very flat. Pólvora is coming out of this with wins, possibly a new hand signal, and a ton of comments about how he’s really not that much good. Diamante also existed.

Titan, being Titan
(should’ve been in week 2, did Triton/Euforia then)

Triton vs Euforia: felt like the first fall of a longer match. Finish was really out of nowhere with no build, and it was more both guys getting to do stuff without putting up much a defense.

Dragon Lee vs Niebla Roja: Mostly Niebla Roja dominated, with Dragon Lee getting in little for the last two thirds of the match outside of a couple spots (though I guess that’s what Dragon Lee does.) Niebla Roja is still a work in progress and the crowd wasn’t in to the match enough to be concerened that Niebla Roja was going to win.
