top six stories of the last two weeks

  1. In the main event of Dos Leyendas, Negro Casas and Blue Panther went to a doubel pin draw. Both made it clear that this issue is not over and set up a title match for the near future. Rush & Terrible fell apart in the incredible pairs tournament final, giving Mr. Niebla and Atlantis the win. Marcela defeated Ayumi to set up a title match there. The main event finish was the biggest surprise on the show, but the high (for recent times) attendance of 11,000 fans was a close second.
  2. At an AAA taping the same time as Dos Leyendas, Jack Evans and LA Park earned tickets to the Rey de Reyes final, joining Hector Garza & Perro Aguayo Jr. AAA also hyped a Rey de Reyes trios match – Dr. Wagner Jr., Heavy Metal and Electroshock versus Texano, Toscano and Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. – where El Consejo must win to stay in AAA. The promotion has one final taping before the next card, but most everything has been wrapped up…
  3. AAA announced the Rey de Reyes card. Besides the tournament match and the Consejo/AAA trios, Mesias will get this title shot against Jeff Jarrett in what feels like the conclusion of the AAA/TNA story and the show will open with a 12 person cage match where a man, a woman, an exotico or a mini may lose their hair or mask. The show also features what’s billed as the last battle between La Parka and Cibernetico’s teams, and a couple more random matches to pad out the card.
  4. At the prior AAA TV taping, Hector Garza & Perro Aguayo Jr. earned those births to Rey de Reyes, and Juventued Guerrera made a surprise return to the promotion. AAA immediately started playing off the issues between Guerrera and Konnan.
  5. On the latest Todo X el Todo show, Santo & Villano IV fell to Angel Blanco Jr. & El Hijo del Solitario in two straight bloody falls. This sets up Santo defending his mask versus both Angel and Solitario in a triangle match at the end of March in the biggest show in the recent history of this promotion.
  6. CMLL hyped a Lady Apache vs Princesa Blanca hair vs hair match in Guadalajara as part of a local Dos Leyendas show. It was important enough to be promoted on all their TV shows for a week, but was switch to a title match the day before for no stated reason. Princesa Blanca kept the title, and the hair match is said to now be happening sometime down the road.
