recap

A typical Tuesday show.

Hooliganism

Metálico, Starman, Super Halcon Jr. vs Hooligan, Loco Max, Puma King: generic second match. Super Halcón still isn’t quite ready at this level, but it’s interesting they gave had him work with Puma and not one of the Tuareg guys. Starman & Metálico were the professional veteran guys they normally are. Hooligan got to use the Hooligan Clash twice in a match, which may be a record.

not the injury, but hurtful

Dragon Lee, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus: I was sure they were going to just abort the match and hurry to the finish once Dragon Lee got hurt, but they managed to work around his limitations instead. It helped Dragon Lee did an impressive job of gutting his way thru an obvious injury, but Cometa & Virus did enough in their couple sequences to make it feel like a complete match. This was some nice damage control.

no.

Hijo del Fantasma, Metro, Valiente vs Felino, Olímpico, Pólvora: Match is fine. The important thing here is I’m working on a theory that Metro may actually be Megaman. He’s doing the neat slide (http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Slide ) and he’s best friends with someone named Rush, who may be a Perro. It is possible he beat some super strong robot and is now using his powers (it explains his black outfit!) It’s not a lot to go on, but if Metro suddenly starts using a plasma cannon in one of his matches, you heard it here first.

Marco Corleone, Rush, Super Porky vs Rey Bucanero, Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero: More or less a técnico showcase match. Three guys who have pretty set routines for every match, just combining them here. The crowd dug it, so it’s not something I can argue with it, but it’s sort of like popcorn when you’re looking for steak. The stuff with Rush & Escorpion was interesting.
