Some promising bits and a nice minis match.
Astral, Fantasy, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior: good minis match. I’d like to see this division get moving in some way so we can see these guys in important matches, but this was a pretty good random trios. Mercurio continues to improve (Nitro too, a bit more subtly), and Fantasy had one of his better nights. This was a little tentative at times but still fun.
Diamante, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hijo del Signo, Nitro: Dipped down a bit in the third due to the usual Tuareg bits, but all in all a good match. This despite Nitro looking slow and old. He’s probably the least of the Tuareg at the moment.
Black Warrior, Titán, Triton vs Olímpico, Psicosis, Virus: Fun, and not just for Titan and Triton (who both got thru the match without screwing anything else.) It looks like Psicosis is going to end up in the same mix with Virus and others as rudo técnicos really ought to want to work with, because he was making them look good. Invasors generally have been great at that, but it really stuck out here. I’d like to see more of Titan vs Virus, but Psicosis vs the young kids has some fun potential too. Black Warrior looks more motivated here than he’s been in a while too. I don’t know if everyone just doesn’t trust him or if there were some burned bridges we don’t know about, but he’s a guy AAA ought to be thinking about picking away for the El Consejo idea. Maybe not a great long term answer, but he’s a guy who would seem amendable to going some place where he’ll get a chance. It didn’t seem to work out before he came back to AAA, so maybe it’s just not a soution.
Ángel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, Super Porky vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto: Funny how Mephisto happened to beat Fantasma here. This match wasn’t quite as good as the last one but better than the first one as far as building this match. No idea if they’re going to make it work, since this has totally been about them not working together. I’m sure it’ll be the usual form, but some can pull that off better than others.
