6) Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Jushin Lyger, La Sombra
Dragon Rojo Jr. pinned Lyger in the third fall, rolling thru a ‘rana for a clean pin, and the two agreed to a title match next week.

Hector Garza

Perros del Mal held a press conference to announce Hector Garza’s reintegration in the group. The Gladiatores has video of Perro and Garza talking about the move. Hector says he gave the title belt back to CMLL and left on good terms. He wanted new opportunities, so he left made the move.

In a radio interview with Roberto Figueroa, Hector says he was unhappy with his recent move to the tecnico side, feeling he was going nowhere. He referred to himself as part of Perros del Mal, and AAA will have to go thru them to bring him in. Roberto also notes CMLL has lost two of it’s last three heavyweight champions. The third is staying because hes’ the booker.

It doesn’t seem like CMLL business is getting better any time soon. Also doesn’t seem like they will be making any big changes on how things are done. Dorada and Garza are probably not the last people to make moves in the near future.

As much as it bored me that Hector was doing the same five spots in every match, every week, he does seem like a pretty influential guy in the CMLL locker room. Terrible and Texano have very obviously molded themselves after Garza (making it weird when ever they faced off, as if was Garza vs a cracked mirror version of Garza.) Hector ripped off the stop sign bit from Alex Koslov, but he was the guy who started wearing a shirt to the ring for the stripping spot, and now half the young tecnicos do the same. There will be a void, not just in the main events but probably behind the scenes.

SuperLuchas has some thoughts about Hector’s move. Have not seen anything from La Catedral yet.

Other News

Ras de Lona had an interview with Sahori. She’s back in CMLL. That’ll fix everything! They made it sound like she would be on Tuesday’s card, but she’s not listed there right now.

AYM Sports changed around their schedule – or maybe just sent the TV people their actual schedule for the first time in a few years. At any rate, the 10:30 am EST listing of Lucha Libre actually had lucha libre on. You didn’t miss anything big; they’ve just shown the top two (women’s) matches from this show, but maybe they’ll air something notable down the line.

No Averno vs Mascara title match this week, though they seemed to be setting up for one. Instead, CMLL Gaceta points in the direction of a trios title match. Hmm. That’s an oddly high spot for Angel de Oro, even on a show where Sagrada is working the semimain.

Amusingly, the four match on Ras de Lona was

4) Lyger, Hijo del Fantasma, Toscano vs Psicosis, Olimpico, Alebrije

Dragon Rojo winning and making a title challenge cost all those guys bookings. Very harsh. (Or they’re clearly putting up fake lineups to make the outcomes seem more ‘real’.)
