Rudos took 2/3. Blue Center was stretchered out.
2) Ayumi, Estrellita, Ray b La Seductora, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Blanca
Tecnicas took 1/3.
3) Ángel de Plata, Fuego, Stuka Jr. b Cancerbero, Centauro de Fuego, Raziel
Centauro de Fuego replaced Euforia. Raziel and Stuka were going after each other’s masks here.
4) Blue Panther, Sangre Azteca, Valiente b Ephesto, Felino, Mephisto
Best match off the night. At one point, Valiente dived on Ephesto, and a fan was wiped out in the process and needed some medical help. Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano Jr. b Atlantis, Jushin Lyger, Shocker
Lyger/Texano focused, setting up next week’s title match.
Texano wants to take back the the title for Mexico.
IWRG (THU) 10/20/2011 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores, Record]
1) Alan Extreme, Dark Devil, Imposible b Astro de Plata, Astro Rey Jr., Bugambilia del Norte
Bugambilia bled in the opener.
2) Apolo Estrada Jr., Comando Negro, King Drako b Dinamic Black, Multifacético, Oficial Spartans
First match for Comando Negro here in a couple months. Dinamic Black pinned him in the third fall, but Apolo Estrada beat Multifacetico and those two were the captains.
3) Golden Magic, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Súper Nova DQ Bestia 666, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan
Teccnicos dominated the first, but Hijo del Pirata snuck in a foul to Wagner to take the fall. Rudos kept control in the second, but Golden Magic & Super Nova snuck in pinfalls. Bestia got Golden Magic with a valagueza in a third, but Wagner faked a foul from Hijo de Pirata to draw a DQ.
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro DQ Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 Jr.
Capos won fall 1, Oficials won fall 2 in a rudo battle. AK-47 and Fiero had Cien Caras in a double armbar when (recently kicked out) Oficial Spartan ran in, joined by a new Oficial (Rayan). The new Oficials attacked the old Oficials, declared themselves the Oficiales Elite, and vowed to eliminate the originals.
Oficials Elite should hold open tryouts for the third spot, and then put it on film.

They should start turning up all over the database now. I’ve only been putting in match details in the database since the start of the year, so older results may not have them (if/until I go back to add them.)
Lucha Libre USA
Lucha Libre USA says tomorrow is not the season finale, and it was a screw up with the DirectTV listing.
However, again, if you look at the listings for next week (screenshot here), they’re not on next Saturday morning. Listings change all the time on the Mexican channels, maybe they’ll change here too.
The Miami Herald talks to blog favorite Pequeno Halloween about his road to Lucha Libre USA. In between training at Rey Misterio Sr.’s school and starting in CMLL, he was actually working as Mini Juventud Guerrera. That name does turn up on indy shows from 2004-2006, including facing and feuding with Mr. Aguilita. Also, Pequeno Halloween shares about married life Rebecca Reyes; the big problem in the marriage was she was cooking him American food when he clearly demands Mexican food. (They also accidentally list him as married to Hiroka – wrong tag partner!)
MTV has an interview with Sydistiko about the show and growing up a lucha fan. I had no idea he wrestled in Mexico.
Previews
After a slow week, lucha libre picks up today. There’s the normal Friday night show in Arena Mexico, CMLL is running an additional show in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara and AAA tapes TV in Xalapa.
The biggest show is AAA’s taping at Arena Xalapa. The item getting the most promotion for the show is not any of the matches, but La Parka’s explaination of his rudo actions at Heroes Inmortales. It’ll probably be along the lines of Octagon’s interivew (“Joaquin Roldan is doing it wrong”), but it also may play into the status LA Park & the Bizarros. The semimain of Fenix/Jack/Parka vs Los Bizarros appears to be more angle than match. Most evertyhing else looks to be the contiunation of the Heroes Inmortales feuds – Wagner/Perro, Maniacos/Electro/Metal, and Lider/Nicho.
CMLL’s main show is headlined by trios champs Hijos del Averno vs the all championship trio of Hector Garza (CMLL Heavyweight), La Sombra (NWA Welter) and Mascara Dorada (CMLL Welter.) The only men’s feud being followed up is in the semimain, where Blue Panther teams with Maximo & Toscano to take on Negro Casas, Felino and Rey Escorpion. There’s no sense they’re moving any closer to a finish with Panther/Casas. The tercera of Delta/Metal/Valiente vs Euforia/Signo/Virus looks to be the best match on the card, but it may not air due to CMLL’s current TV situation. Amapola and Marcela contnue to face off in women’s trios and seem on schedule to a title match next week.
Another third of CMLL’s roster is off in Guadalajara. This is the first of back to back Friday shows, timed to conicide with the PanAmerican Games to draw some of those fans to their shows. The back/back show means something from this show will set up a match for next week, likely a title matches. Definitely predicting which match it’ll be is impossible, because every match has at least two different champions. (CMLL!) My hunch is Rush/Atlantis vs UG/Dragon Rojo, but we’ll see. Friday shows haven’t been taped and even getting results from Guadalajara is scattered at best the last few months.
Other news
There’s a list on Box Y Lucha allegedly naming people who tried out for WWE, including CMLL and non-CMLL names not mentioned. No verification of any of this, please keep that mind. Bestia, Wagner, Zumbi and Park were were mentioned before, and Dr. Lucha mentioned Averno on his podcast. I can’t confirm the others, but if you forced me to make a list of CMLL people who’d be suggested to try out, those would be (most of) the names I would’ve come up with. The one guy we all thought was a perfect fit for WWE turns out to have had the best tryout, what a surprise.
Aerostar (still in AAA!) and Tito Santana talk the El Super Clasico (America vs Chivas) Primera Division game this weekend. Aerostar, (listed as?) born in Mexico City, is the big fan of the Guadalajara team while Poder del Norte Tito is a fan of the Mexico City team.
MedioTiempo has an interview with IWRG/Lucha POP’s Triton about this career, but it’s also a backdoor introduction to a new Lucha POP/AULL concept: the El Discípulo de Oro tournament. It’ll be eight teams of three luchadors (and one coach) representing different promotions and school. Lucha POP home team is captain Keira with Triton & Terremoto Negro, and is managed by Sexi Star.
El Hijo del Santo explains he’s having this non-apuesta match with Hijo del Solitario to see if he’s worth a mask match. He also says he wants to includes the legends with Todos x el Todos and Mascara Platedita is a young man he wanted to support. Fans have been asking him to wrestle more in Mexico City, and he may in December and 2012 if he gets support from the people.
The A&E (CMLL) El Luchador series starts this weekend. This is article has some video clips. My second favorite part of the promos is the apparent return of the never quite explained Hombre Negro from all those Dinamitas feuds.
Arena Mexico will have a special fan appreciation show for Dia De Muertos.

Daga on that list pretty much explains his no-show, vacating the title, etc.
I bet Averno was the one told no. I think the way WWE brings in talent that even a guy like Magnus would be someone they’d bring in, while Averno doesn’t really fit the look they want at all. Only reason they’d bring him in is for the obvious history with Mistico, but I don’t know if that’s in their plans now.
@Alfredo: Let’s not do it. Bestia (and Durango) being on the show should make it pretty obvious.
Magnus is listed as “Sin contrato” while Averno is listed as “Con contrato pero ya vio que en mexico ya no da mas…” Which will make tonight fun.
I hope Pollo joins the new Oficials because Pollozon is an awesome gimmick.
I got some ratings. The girl who was giving them to me is not working full-time right now so I won’t be getting them regularly again until some time next spring, I hope.

That’s the AAA episode I noted had absolutely no replays and mostly handheld/floor cams doing the work. But AAA brand is strong and not over saturated on television. Also impressive that they are doing decent on Saturday.

CMLL is at a low ebb, AAA’s recovered a little bit, but WWE is the story to me. Their numbers are a downward trend since starting in the US. Some fall back is always going to happen, but between those numbers and the attendance, they’re looking more like a couple year fad that’s fading, like when WWE went super hot in Italy and then it all died. This time thru DF had Sin Cara and ADR for the first time and Mil appearance – next time is going to be very interesting.
Of course, ALL the business in Italy died in the process…
So can somebody go over what was said about the people who got tryouts? Did they talk about how well these guys did and the level of interest in them?
@thecubsfan: I wonder how much of CMLL’s decline is due to Mistico leaving?
Watching the Sin Cara’s mask match, crowd was dead although a “Mistico” chant broke out. At least the crowd was standing and remained standing when Sin Cara won, waiting to see Hunico unmask.
It’s funny how attendance is down yet when WWE was only on 52mx they were super hot at Arena Monterrey and Palacio.
Honestly, I don’t think WWE did poorly.
They ran Monterrey on weeknights, two nights in a row so they overbooked the market. Running Palacio two nights in a row was a mistake. They would have sold it out for one night. Probably would have sold out(or come close) Monterrey for RAW if it was a Fri, Sat or Sun and just one show.
I think the gates in SLP, Puebla, Veracruz and Merida were all respectable. SLP is a small market. Veracruz is too.
But I’m happy to see that by comparison, WWE had success upon arrival in Mexico on 52mx. AAA and CMLL should realize that they don’t need Televisa to survive.
