If you’re the type of person who likes to make best matches of the year list, you need to go watch Virus/Stuka. Also, if you just like really good matches.
Virus vs Stuka Jr. for the CMLL World Super Lightweight Championship: That was great! It was neat that it didn’t bend at all to CMLL house style; they were going to have an old school classic lucha libre championship match, but it would’ve been a great match even if it didn’t go against the grain of a tired style. Great near falls in all three falls, interesting action the whole way and a totally convincing finish. They might not have done enough to draw the crowd in, but I know I cared about this one.
Mr. Niebla, Terrible, Texano vs Hijo del Fantasma, Máximo, Toscano: about what you’d expect out of these six guys, but the crowd got into it and the Máximo/Niebla interactions seems underutilized (especially in comparison to how repetitive they can be on their own.) Fine enough.
