Stuka & Fuego still champs, Oficial Spartan loses his badge

CMLL (SUN) 10/09/2011 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, Kaiser Sports (4), Kaiser Sports (others), La Catedral, Record]
1) Apocalipsis & Inquisidor b Bengala & Höruz
Rudos took 2/3.
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito b Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Maximo
Rudos won 1/3, then Pierrothito used naughty language to challenge Dorada to a mask match. Dorada said to look really good in this match.
3) Metro, Sagrado, Sangre Azteca b Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
Tecnicos take 1/3. Sangre Azteca left the match early with a lower body injury.
4) Fuego & Stuka Jr. b Arkángel de la Muerte & Skándalo [Arena Coliseo TAG]
Rudos took the first, tecnicos came back the second. Arkangel eliminated Stuka (rana), but Fuego beat both Skandalo (powerbomb) and Arkangel (cradle) to keep the titles. Billed as fifth defense.
5) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada
Rudos took the first and third, Volador yanking Atlantis’ mask and pinning him. After, Volador challenged Atlantis to a mask vs mask match, but Atlantis refused, saying Volador wasn’t on his level. Atlantis was annoyed Volador was trying to feud with him when he was already feuding with Mr. Nibela, and “your [Volador] mask is not even good enough to clean my shoes.” Seemed like they may do a singles match out of this next week.

Looks like they’re back in Arena Mexico next Sunday, which fits with a singles match. This philosophy of doing big singles matches that could be major show main events instead as matches with one week builds on non-Friday shows is very odd. If it made any sense, it’d be almost like they were training people that the Tuesday/Sunday shows are as important as the Friday shows (and that training doesn’t seem to have taken.)

IWRG (SUN) 10/09/2011 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Dark Devil & Imposible b Saruman & Tritón
2) Alan Extreme & Keshin Black b Astro de Plata Jr. & Astro Rey Jr.
Rudos won, and took the Astro’s masks post match.
3) Dinamic Black, Eterno, Golden Magic DQ Oficial 911, Oficial Fierro, Oficial Spartans
Oficials seemed enroute to winning, when Spartans fouled Golden Magic right in front of the referee. 911 and Fierro were furious. They attacked their partner, kicked him out of the group, and vowed to finish him and take his mask!
4) Barba Roja & Hijo de Pirata Morgan b Trauma I & Trauma II [Juniors]
Not the title match originally mentioned. Instead, Piratas took 1/3 to win. Trauma I believed he had Pirata pinned in the third, after the other two were eliminated, but the referee ruled Pirata’s shoulder was up. Trauma argued, and was german suplexed for the pin.
5) Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 Jr. b El Hijo del Solitario, Pirata Morgan, Zumbi
Zumbi made his debut here, taking the spot listed as Super Crazy. Junior Capos took falls 1/3.

On the Lucha POP show, Joe Lider beat Daga in a technical match and Vaquerita kept her title due to a distraction from Yuki Star. Yuki gets the title match on the next show, in November. No mention of the Fenix/Dragon match, if it took place.

The QPPC finalists in Monterrey were Gato Fantasma, Lady Puma, Demencia, Perseus, Rene Guajardo Jr., Kratos, and Psycho. Guajardo was in CMLL for a time. Most are from Monterrey. Either Perseus, or a camera happy stalker, was uploaded a lot of his matches to a YouTube channel. Remind me to put together a finalist list at some point.

Lucha Libre in Japan

NJPW 10/10: 4) Hirooki Goto [O] & Tama Tonga b Shinsuke Nakamura & Ultimo Guerrero [X] (11:03) – Goto gets his win back. I wonder if this means Volador goes to Japan to lose to Volador eventually? (NJPW hasn’t seemed to mention the Leyenda de Plata final, so no.)

AJPW 10/10 (via Purolove.com): 6) Great Muta, Kenzo Suzuki [O] & Kaz Hayashi b Ozz, Cuervo & MAZADA [X] – this is the only match Muta is in before the 10/23 tag title match.

  • No SuperLuchas this week due to technical issues.
  • EricR of Segunda Caida watched LLUSA from this past Sunday. I feel much differently about Rellik, but much the same about Pequeno Halloween. How did we end up in a world where Demus is one promotion, Aguilita is in another promotion, and Halloween is in a third different group? It is so wrong.

  1. If C3 gets the Sunday shows instead of Tuesday, then the Sunday shows would probably move back to Arena Mexico permanently and I’d guess that Tuesday would end up getting Coliseo.
