recap

Some pleasant surprises.

Yoshihashi at work

Fuego, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro vs Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi: fun match except for some goofiness near the near of the second fall (and that was fun it’s own way) and also the DQ finish that’s not really going anywhere. There was a point where I thought Yoshihashi was looking good, and then he proceeded to rectify that mistake quickly. Fuego looks good with this team, if they ever wanted to do anything with Fuego and this team.

not enough

Princesa Blanca vs Marcela for the Mexican National Women’s Championship: Really fun match, more than I expected. The finish was a bit of a surprise because that’s not a move we’ve seen Blanca or anyone else really use, but if they’re setting up something where Marcela finally wins a title, they’ve done a great set up for it. This was a pretty crushing loss.

great camera work

Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Blue Panther, Dragon Lee, Puma King: another fun match. The difference wasn’t getting to see Atlantis as a técnico, but Blue Panther as a fun rudo. He was much more of a presence than Shocker was in this same match last week, and it gave this a better feel. Dragon Lee really embraced his role as well. Right team won, given where they appear to be going with all of this.

Olimpico's skill at lifting is finally useful

Olímpico, Psicosis, Volador Jr. vs Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Rush: Arena Mexico welcomes it’s invading conquerors, provided they include Volador and are facing the hated Rush. Perfectly fine setup match for this feud. Hopefully they play with the opposite dynamic before.

  1. Hey Cubs this may of be of some interest but on the most recent Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling Podcast his guest was Ricky Marvin since Colt was over touring with NOAH, where Ricky basically talks about his start in the business with Colt for an hr or so…

Maybe you’ll link it maybe you won’t but it was lucha related so I thought I’d share:
