Other News

Negro Navarro explains he’s ready to fight Nicho in extreme fighting should it come to it, but he accuses Nicho (and others) of being scared to fight a good wrestler who can break his soul with his fists. Strong promo.

Dorian Roldan did an interview with Luchas 2000 this week, telling them about advances he plans for AAA in the near future. (I guess when he’s not trying to destroy AAA and replace it with TNA.) Dorian does mention plans for HD, but also mentions plans for AAA traveling outside of Mexico. Still saving my money for that big AAA show in the US.

  1. “Sexi Star would like the Reina de Reinas title back now.”

And I’d like a date with her, Jennifer Blake, Estrellita, Mickie James, Velvet Sky, ODB or Tara but to quote the Rolling Stones “You can’t always get what you want.”

Who is Big Mama and Sherry?

  2. Poor minis. They don’t even get to main event with an apuesta tournament on a Sunday show?

I just watched the Felino vs Ciclon Ramirez mask match. At the end, a kid comes into the ring to celebrate with Felino. Is that either Puma King or Tiger?

  3. A certain “reporter” who covers wrestling in Monterrey might want to spend less time insulting Mistico b/c he didn’t grant him an interview one day and spend more time explaining how shows like that Arena Solidaridad event completely kill wrestling in Monterrey.

  4. I can’t see how that Solidaridad card is worse than ACM running Cien Caras vs Rayo De Jalisco in 2011.

  5. Well Rayo/Cien work that building one or two times a year. So it’s special and it draws better than average. So it makes perfect sense. From a wrestling standpoint, yes, the show sucked.

This Solidariad show has a bunch of pointless stip matches featuring wrestlers I’ve never heard of (ME!!!!! THE GUY WHO KNOWS MATANZA 68!). It seems like most of them are appearing for the first time although I’m sure Cubs’ results archive can find the odd show or two they worked. So one of the unknowns will lose every match, the crowd will be bored by the time the third guy gets his head shaved and the main event will be a typical cheap Monterrey finish.

Then someone will try to run a legit feud with two locals like Rey Demonio and Golden Boy and then Roberto will go on his twitter complaining about why nobody will pay to see a stip match with those two. Maybe because stip matches mean nothing with cards like this one?

This is nothing new. Monterrey promoters have been killing their own territory for many years.
