Puebla, AAA/NOAH, Toscano

Bonus: this past week’s CMLL show (thanks Dan!): pick from WMV, MP4 or AVI.

CMLL (MON) 07/25/2011 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio, Porra Fresa]
1) Black Tiger & Black Tiger Jr. b Akron & Sauron
Tigers took 2/3. Black Tiger Jr. looked improved over his last match here in November.
2) Artillero, Espiritu Maligno, Súper Comando b Soberano Jr., Stigma, Super Halcon Jr.
Rudos took 1/3.
3) Ángel de Plata, Palacio Negro, Sangre Azteca b Arkángel de la Muerte, Cancerbero, Raziel
Tecs took 1/3. Palacio Negro looked good.
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Rush, Valiente DQ Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
Yoshihashi fouled Rush for the straight fall loss. They agreed to a hair match.
5) La Máscara, Shocker, Super Porky b Averno, Mephisto, Volador Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3. Mascara challenged Averno to a mask vs hair match and Averno actually accepted – only if the match was not in front of “these goddamn people”. Averno is mean.

Rush talks about his chances in Leyenda de Plata & his feud with Yoshihashi (“gran rival” – riiight.)

AAA in NOAH
07/28:
1) Shuhei Taniguchi & Mohammed Yone [O] b Ricky Marvin & Rocky Marvin [X]
5) [JR TAG] Aero Star [O] & Jack Evans b Kenou & Kenbia [X]

Team AAA finishes 2-2, among 2 other teams with that record. Only the top teams go to the playoffs, so it’s team NOAH vs team NOAH in the final. One more match on Saturday for these guys, and then they head home.

Other News

This week’s WON speculates Hector Garza’s tecnico turn is related to Toscano’s disappearing act. There’s been no sign of Toscano in CMLL rings since 07/11, with a week’s worth of booking he just didn’t appear for. Toscano appeared to be in talks with AAA just before TripleMania, when AAA was confident enough that they had him to schedule his debut on the last Arena Naucalpan taping. Toscano changed his mind then, but possibly may have changed his mind again. Garza turning tecnico would put him in the pretty boy tecnico spot instead. This situation may explain the Intocable rumors La Catedral mentioned a little while back; he’d could’ve also been used in Toscano’s spot on the tecnico side, and might still be used as a replacement for Garza in the Invas0rs.

Black Terry Jr. posted part 1 and part 2 of the IWRG/Villanos cibernetico.

Rob is looking for a date for this match.

IWL’s next iPPV is this weekend (in what looks to be a 2 iPPV weekend for Necro Butcher), and Super Crazy hypes his match with Craig Classic.

Lucha Pop is teasing Sexi Star vs LuFisto and posted a La Vaquerita promo.

  1. Sweet! Thanks to whichever Dan it was that did that. If you’d like anything in return contact me in e-mail and I’ll be happy to upload anything from my collection for ya.

  2. I’m happy that Hector Garza is turning technico again. He’s a lot better as a good guy.

Toscano is just a piece of Trailor Park trash who tries (but fails) to be Latin Lover. Hector Garza is 100 times better.

  3. Garza is about 10000000 times better as a rudo, I think. He gets too stale as a tecnico, because he is just a good looking dude who is solid in the ring (and can be awesome when he wants to). As a rudo, he is one of the best chickenshit assholes there is. Plus, chicks (and Daniel) dig him regardless, so he sends off that Rick Rude type of vibe where he is gonna kick ass and then go home and bang your girl.

  4. @Nikita: I dig him in a non-sexual way just so that we’re clear.

If he is used the right way, instead of being put in useless matches, he won’t go stale as a technico. He should win the Heavyweight championship and get pushed to the moon as a good guy. He’ll be right up there with Santo, and Mil Mascaras.
