Garza vs the rudos, Expo, Avernos vs Doradas

CMLL (TUE) 07/26/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Record]
1) Camaleón & Robin b Apocalipsis & Camorra
Camaleon is looking like Drago these days.
2) La Seductora, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit b Dalys la Caribeña, Estrellita Mágica, Marcela
Rudas took 2/3.
3) Fuego, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro b Arkángel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Loco Max
Tecnicos took 1/3. Fuego took out Dr. X with a dive while the other tecnicos beat the other rudos. Dr. X has a nice new t-shirt.
4) Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto, Naito b Delta, Super Porky, Valiente
Rudos took 1/3. Porky was wearing a full body superhero suit.
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano b Héctor Garza, Psicosis, Volador Jr.
TRT won 1/3. Garza had problems with his teammates again, more with Volador than Psicosis.

I am more interested in the possibility of a refocused and re-energized Invasors faction with Volador taking over as leader than another Garza tecnico stint. (That’s probably not what’s happening here; hopeless optimism at work.) If this Garza turn takes, it’d be his fifth in the last decade.

Lucha Libre Expo

A poster on SuperLuchas says they saw La Parka (Jr.) being taunted by “pirata Parka!” chants so much that he ended his autograph session. Need video.

R de Rudo has thoughts and video on the expo (everyone’s done on CMLL for charging for autographs and AAA for not doing a TV taping this year), and interviews with Low Rider and Hija de Karonte.

ESPN Deportes has their own video and thoughts.

Segunda Caida reviews the Black Terry four way trios match.

Black Terry Jr. has video of the end of IWRG vs Villanos cibernetico. Ray Mendoza’s stomps look really good when you are obscured from seeing them make contact.

Other News

CMLL’s Twitter says Hijos del Averno and Generacion Dorada will meet again for the CMLL Trios titles on August 19 in Guadalajara, another one of the (monthly?) Friday night shows. They haven’t posted a full card on their website. I’d tell you what this means for Averno’s status, but my magic eight ball is broken.

This is a bit random: a french TVshow (360 Geo) did an episode on luchadora Lady Warrior. The full episode seems to be here, though I can’t get it to load. Region locked? There’s two extra clips: part 1 and part 2.

AAA says Nicho is totally suspended, but he’s just been working his previous scheduled dates. I don’t think they know what the word “suspended” means, but maybe they’ll also talk about the cruiserweight title deal two weeks after everyone stops paying attention to it.

In Guatemala, Ultimo Guerrero beat Negro Casas to keep FMLL’s Champion du Monde. Next big match here is on September 25, with local Voltron versus either Hector Garza or Shocker for a shot at UG.

El Pancracio talks to Estrellita and Sangre Azteca.

Rob has video of 02/02/10 Arena Mexico and Estrella Magica struggling a bit.

Lucha Libre in Japan

07/27 SEM (NOAH):
1) Jack Evans b Zack Sabre Jr.
2) Delirious b Aero Star

If I’m unscrambling this news right, REINA’s tournament for the new shared title with CMLL runs from August 14 to September 24 (with Zeuxis returning to Japan take part), and either the tournament or a title match ends up in October in Mexico.

Lineups

3) Sagrado, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
4) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Shocker vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Rush vs Yoshihashi [hair]

Finally. This may be the end of the road for Nobou. Or it may be a stunning upset leading him to stardom! One of the two.

This is Dark Angel’s first post-facial paralysis match in CMLL. The mask she’s been wearing makes her look a bit like a Lady Destructora.

10 thoughts to “Garza vs the rudos, Expo, Avernos vs Doradas”

  1. The Monster’s Ball match at VdE is no longer listed as being for the Cruiserweight title.

  2. For anyone interested, I was told by a TNA wrestler (I’m not saying their name but they spent ALOT of time in Mexico last year, thats all I’ll say) that Dark Angel/Sarita was diagnosed with bells palsy but the doctors think that it is temporary and she should recover fully. It wont affect her in the ring either, except for her appearance.

  3. @JB: That’s horrible. When I read this post earlier I was going to reply and ask should we be worried about the fact half her face is paralyzed? Seems like a bad situation especially for a female wrestler and yet nobody seems to be making a big deal out of it. I wonder what caused this…

It’ll be interesting to see if the commision does anything about her wearing a mask? Or why they would let someone in her condition wrestle?

@thecubsfan: “R de Rudo has thoughts and video on the expo (everyone’s done on CMLL for charging for autographs and AAA for not doing a TV taping this year),”

Why are they made that AAA didn’t do a TV taping? They got to see a LUCHA LIBRE HOUSE! Just like the website says! How can they not be happy about seeing a LUCHA LIBRE HOUSE! God Fonsesca is an idiot.

  4. Garza turning tecnico is just a bad idea.

After reading the Expo results, I’m wondering, what happened to the rule that guys could only work one show and not multiple? Did that only last a year?

  5. Garzas turn does not look like a tecnico turn. Pretending to be better than the own tag partners and teaching them lessons sounds more like a turn to the even-more-rudo side.

  6. @Ringo: Over on twitter Enrique Yniesta hinted at some sort of Perros Del Mal faction invading CMLL to feud with the Invasores which sounds odd but Enrique is privy to certain things we are not. He suggested Garza would lead the group. Not sure if it means they’d use ex-PdM guys like Aguila/Terrible or some AAA guys would be jumping? Who knows.

  7. @thecubsfan: By a guy making his first post ever! I love how that doesn’t matter to anyone there. I think I’ll just sign up under a new name and post La Parka Jr. is going to CMLL.
