IWRG shocker: Multifacetico loses his mask

Full post up later, but the big news out of Naulcalpan is Oficial 911 surprisingly defeated Multifacetico for his mask tonight. The tecnico is relatively new, but the gimmick has been passed down from rising start to rising star. (911 is just the latest iteration of rudo police gimmicks, many who have lost their mask before him.)

Tercera Caída reports Multifacetico is Jonathan Pacheco, from Estado de México, seven years a luchador, longer than had ben assumed. More later.

CMLL GDL, MXW debut, lots of lineups

CMLL (FRI) 07/15/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@alexruizglez]
2) Astral, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada b Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito
3) Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis, Yoshihashi b Fuego, Sangre Azteca, Stuka Jr.
Rudos took 1/3.
4) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano b Máximo, Metal Blanco, Rush
Metal Blanco replaced Toscano. Rudos took 1/3.
5) El Alebrije, Mr. Águila, Psicosis b Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.
Believe the Invasors took 1/3. Psicosis and Mr. Aguila challenged for the tag titles.

There’s no show next Friday, but they come back on 07/31 with that tag title match. It’s pretty weak competition to Verano de Escandalo; I can’t believe anyone who would consider going to either show being swayed to go to CMLL by that main event.

XMW (SAT) 07/16/2011 Arena Aragon [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Estrellas del RingThe Gladiatores]
1) Crazy Clown & Crazy Tiger b Extreme Boy & Kalibuz
2) Impluso b LancelotSarumanTerremotoFuego LatinoCronosAstro Rey Jr. (indy),Astro de PlataWotam [Copa XMW]
3) Dinastía & Konami b Angel Extremo & Genesis and Hardman & Talxays and Íkaro &Obscuro
LJLL team winning it.
4) Peligro & Pesadilla b Alex Guajardo & Low Rider and Daga & Eterno and Máscara Oriental & Sairus [XMW TAG]
New Titles, won by the Perros del Mal midcard duo. Mascara Oriental & Sairus are Fenix & Dark Dragon’s indy identities, and were not originally listed in this match. This and the previous match were called “Strong Style”. Alex replaced Tribal as Low Rider’s partners
5) Dement Xtreme & Sexy Lady b Ludark Shaitan & Ojo Dibaolico Jr. [XMW MIXED TAG]
Ludark was returning from injury here, in a match of light tubes, chairs and blood.
6) Super Crazy b Cerebro NegroHeddi KarouiMike Segura
7) Super Crazy b Tribal
Tribal appeared to challenge Crazy after his win. Crazy accepted and won quickly
8) Ángel o Demonio b Dancy BoyAlfred Dino [casket, XMW HEAVY]
Scheduled as a one on one, but Dino joined the match. Total hardcore match, with Demonio winning the title (vacant?) by putting Dance Boy in the casket.

I wouldn’t figure Mexico needs another hardcore promotion, but the reports say this was well attended and well received. Black Terry Jr. has video of the Tribal vs Super Crazy and XMW Tag Title match. More BT Jr. below. Dr. Landru has posted part of the Mixed Tag title match, probably part 2 to come.

Other News

Post is a bit early. I heard this rumor that Mistico and Dos Caras Jr. are wrestling in the area. It’s been forever since I’ve seen those guys, so I thought I should investigate and find out what they’re up to.

San Luis Potosi AAA promoter Jose Munoz talks about his life and his career. Today is an AAA show celebrtaing the 17th anniversary of the promotion. Main event is listed as Parka, Mesias, Drago vs Cibernetico, Charly and Zorro. Won’t turn out quite that way, but it’s a strong card for a non-taping.

From the Super X show, Black Terry has video of Daga vs Eterno, Juvi’s concert, and his match with Super Crazy in three parts: one two three.

Rob has highlight videos of CMLL 12/06/10, AAA 01/15/11, and November 2001 AAA.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update, Masked Republic comic-con info, and this week’s AAA

Luchadors in Japan

CMLL’s deal with REINA was to send two luchadoras over to Japan every three months, so it was a bit strange when only La Comandante was the only one announced to take Seuxis & Silueta’s place. REINA mentioned today that a second woman from Mexico was there (early!), an independent luchador recommended by CMLL, and trained by Hijo del Gladiador, Ultimo Guerrero and Picudo. Google translers her name to “Damadeiero”, which sounds like Dama de Hierro, but she seems to be a Monterrey based luchador who wouldn’t normally be training with those people. Anyway, she’s there for six months to train with the joshi women.

Hector Garza meets Jushin Lyger in a non-title match tomorrow.

NOAH  07/16 result I missed:
JH tag tournament: Kotaro Suzuki (o) & Atsushi Aoki b Ricky Marvin & Rocky Marvin (x)

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 07/18/2011 Arena Puebla
1) Milenium & Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Centauro de Fuego & Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Lestat, Sensei, Starman vs King Jaguar, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II
3) Ángel de Plata, Metal Blanco, Stuka Jr. vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Nitro
4) Blue Panther, Rush, Valiente vs Shigeo Okumura, Tetsuya Naito, Yoshihashi
5) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Volador Jr. vs Histeria, Mr. Águila, Psicosis

I think I forgot to actually post this? Rush vs Yoshihashi is the second least interesting possible singles match you could make with the tecnicos and rudos in that semimain. (Rush/Okumura would be worse.) Histeria in a main event! Bookers can’t decide if Volador is friend or foe to Peste Negra and/or Invasors!

CMLL (TUE) 07/19/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Soberano Jr. & Trueno vs Camorra & Disturbio
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Plata, Hombre Bala Jr. vs Bobby Zavala, Puma King, Tiger
3) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Starman vs Euforia, Raziel, Virus
4) Fuego vs Dr. X [lightning]
5) Blue Panther, Sangre Azteca, Valiente vs Misterioso Jr., Pólvora, Shigeo Okumura
6) Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs El Alebrije, Mr. Águila, Psicosis

Fuego and Dr. X finally get their match! Not quite the one they want, but moving that way.

Tercera looks really good. Note Sangre Azteca has his old friends to deal with in the semimain.

IWRG (THU) 07/21/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Dragon Fly & Tritón vs ? & ??
2) Bugambilia del Norte, Dinamic Black, Miss Gaviota vs Carta Brava Jr., Keshin Black, Polifacético
3) Angelico, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Multifacético vs Hijo de LA Park, Oficial 911, Shiima Xion
4) Bestia 666, Damián 666, Halloween, X-Fly vs Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.

Main event that was challenged for last week.

Shiima Xion is in this week for the Expo and working here. There is no hope of anyone spelling his name correctly the entire week. That semimain is the first unmasked match for someone.

CMLL (FRI) 07/22/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Enrique Vera Jr. & Höruz vs Bronco & Inquisidor
2) Bam Bam, Fantasy, Mascarita Dorada vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito
3) Estrellita, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany
4) Palacio Negro vs Cancerbero [lightning]
5) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Rush vs Averno, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
6) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, Último Guerrero vs Mr. Niebla, Naito, Negro Casas

Lighting match should be fun. Tercera is a rematch of the feud that’s been featured on Fox Sports, so I wonder if still might end up there regardless of the position. La Masara/Averno continues in the semimain. Main event looks like it’s about Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero’s relationship. Naito is on the psuedo-tecnico side again.

IWRG (SAT) 07/23/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Alan Extreme, Centurión, Dragon Fly, Fresero Jr., Rolling Boy, Saruman, Tonatiuh, Tritón vs Beta, Bizzaro, Black Lancer, Kortiz, Maquina Infernal, Negro Casasola, Taurus, Templario [Copa High Power]
2) Bobby Lee Jr., Dinamic Black, Golden Magic vs Carta Brava Jr., Comando Negro, Eterno
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro vs Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Kid USA
4) Black Terry & Solar I vs Negro Navarro & Pirata Morgan
5) Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Trauma I, Ultramán Jr. vs Hijo de LA Park, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Máscara Año 2000 Jr.
6) Silver Kain vs Electroshock [IWRG HEAVY]

A few changes to the announced card, with the teams for the IWRG Gym vs Villano Gym opener spelled out. Kid USA looks to be making his debut. Bobby Lee Jr. takes Freelance’s spot. The SuperLuchas IWRG column believes he, Suicida and Cerbero Negro are out of IWRG for the moment, but more that they’ve chosen to be in IWL than IWRG rejecting them.

CMLL (SAT) 07/23/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito
2) Goya Kong, Lluvia, Silueta vs Amapola, Estrellita, Tiffany
3) Delta, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro vs Cancerbero, Euforia, Raziel
4) El Alebrije, Olímpico, Psicosis vs Averno, Felino, Mephisto
5) Atlantis, Guerrero Maya Jr., Shocker vs Ángel de Oro, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero [Relevos Increíbles]

CMLL’s contribution to the changed cards for the Expo. It’ll get changed some more since Maya is still a couple weeks from returning. Semimain should be mascot on mascot violence. Tercera and opener (minis division 19th anniversary special) should be good fun. Silueta returns to take Dark Angel’s spot, and Estrellita & Tiffany randomly replace Seuxis and Sujei.

AAA (SUN) 07/24/2011 Centro Banamex
1) Mascarita Divina & Octagoncito vs Mini Charly Manson & Mini Chessman
2) Fabi Apache, Mari Apache, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Cinthia Moreno, Esther Moreno, Polvo de Estrellas
3) Argenis, Atomic Boy, Fenix vs Dark Dragon, El Brazo, Violento Jack
4) El Elegido, Laredo Kid, Sugi vs Nicho el Millionario, Ronin, Tigre Cota
5) El Mesías, La Parka, Octagón vs Alan Stone, Chris Stone, Zorro

AAA seems to have the most changes, because they’ve got the TV taping the same day. (We should give credit to the Perros for actually announcing their changes, unlike the other companies so far.) This is just who’s left, except for Bronco and Mortiz. Every match has one person who is a tecnico on the rudo side (though Nicho may officially be a rudo now.)

CMLL (SUN) 07/24/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Meteoro vs Relampago
2) Robin & Virgo vs Ángel del Mal & Bobby Zavala
3) Palacio Negro & Sensei vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
4) Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mr. Niebla

At least they’re not breaking up Generacion Dorada (yet).

IWRG (SUN) 07/24/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Rolling Boy & Saruman vs Alan Extreme & Imposible
2) Bugambilia del Norte, Dragon Fly, Tritón vs Carta Brava Jr., King Drako, Polifacético
3) Argos, Black Terry, Bobby Lee Jr. vs Dr. Cerebro, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
4) Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Veneno vs Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Kid USA
5) Angelico, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Multifacético vs Hijo de LA Park, Oficial 911, Shiima Xion

This is the reason Black Terry and Dr. Cerbero are in black. You can never tell with them.

07/16 AAA TV Results (Orizaba)

AAA TV (SAT) 07/16/2011 Plaza de Toros La Concordia de Orizaba, Veracruz [AAA]
1) Mini Monster Clown, Mini Murder Clown, Mini Psycho Clown b La Parkita, Mini Charly Manson, Octagoncito
Mini Psycho Circus debuted, are 1-0. The big Psycho Circus came out to celebrate – and then turned on the minis, because they were actually Los Perros del Mal in disguise. The actual Psycho Circus ran out for the save.
2) Argos, Fabi Apache, Pimpinela Escarlata b Sexy Star, Súper Fly, Yuriko
Pimpi beat Sexi.
3) Billy Boy, Cibernético, Escoria b Cuervo, La Parka, Ozz
added match? Taboo hit Parka with the ax, and Escoria pinned Cuervo for the win.
4) Chessman, Silver King, Último Gladiador b Drago, Heavy Metal, Joe Lider
Earlier in the show, Joaquin appeared in the ring to announce Nicho is free to leave AAA. Nicho, free to leave AAA, came thru the audience to talk to Joaquin. He first apologized to Marisela, because he should have been blaming Joaquin instead. Nicho threatened violence, security and Joe Lider got involved, and Nicho declared that if Joe Lider was with Joaquin, they were no longer friends. Nicho reappeared during this match, attacking Lider. Silver beat Metal after a combination of moves. Mascots feuded in this match.
5) Damián 666, Halloween, X-Fly b Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
X-Fly did wrestle, and pinned Monster after a senton with some chairs. Perros took their masks again.
6) LA Park, Samoa Joe, Scott Steiner vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Electroshock, Zorro
Scott Steiner replaced Mr. Anderson. Zorro is now wearing his old mask. Samoa Joe beat Electroshock. Rudos had the help of Konnan and Manaicos. After the match, Konnan announced Jarrett would defend his title against Wagner and Park at Verano de Escandalo.
