1) Disturbio & Zayco b Starman & Trueno
Final fall came down to eliminations. Trueno eliminated Zayco, Disturbio eliminated Trueno, and Disturbio pinned Starman after Zayco pulled off Starman’s mask from the outside.
2) Dalys la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Lluvia b Amapola, Estrellita, Princesa Blanca
Lluvia replaced Dark Angel. In the third fall, Estrellita screwed up, Blanca and Amapola attakced her, and the tecnicas cradled them for the win. Estrellita hugged a very confused Lluvia (and also the other two) and celebrated with the tecnicas after the match. The new title belt was shown before the match; it’s green!
3) Pequeño Nitro b Eléctrico [lightning]
Odd finish. Nitro dropkicked a seated Electrico, covered, and Electrico kicked out at 2.9999999. Bestia Negra counted him down early. Electrico threw a fit all the way to backstage.
4) Euforia, Pólvora, Virus b Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente
Tecnicos took the first, rudos the last two. Polvora beat Valiente clean this week, and challenged for a title shot.
5) Naito, Psicosis, Volador Jr. b Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero
With Naito taking out UG on a dive, Naito & Psicosis beat the other two.
6) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada
Straight falls for the rudos, who challenged for the trios titles next week.

Dark Angel says she’s missed the last two days of shows due to facial paralysis.

Other News

Ras de Lona included JCR trying to stir up trouble between Soberano Jr. and Euforia. Interviews with all the feuding people you’d expect, pushing the trios title match before it was official. I think Estrellita talked for a minute straight with stopping for a breath or anything else.

Rob has highlights of AAA on 08/28/93.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

3) Valiente vs Pólvora [MEX WELTER]
4) Ángel de Oro, Atlantis, Delta vs Mr. Niebla, Naito, Negro Casas
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]

Pretty loaded card for the same night they’re kicking off Friday shows in Guadalajara.

I am not sure what’s going on with Averno. Theories:

  1. Averno’s not going to WWE. I still believe he is. Believe is not strong enough – too many people have actually stated that Averno’s going to WWE for everyone to be wrong.
  2. Averno’s getting a day pass from Florida. WWE has been pretty insistent on guys coming working their agreed upon dates elsewhere before coming in, so maybe this is just the last (or second to last) date he’s agreed to – he could report to FCW and come down to finish off here. Averno is going seven days between matches this week (Friday to Friday), that’s only happened once prior this year. He’s been working near constantly the last month in matches versus La Mascara; for that just to stop means something is up.
  3. Averno’s not actually showing up for this match. Hey, what better way to kickstart a new Hijos de Averno then by having someone replace Averno and the team win the trios titles in their first time out. (Inquisidor is not busy. Though I’d prefer Euforia.)
This is try #2 for Polvora. Marcela is also listed as working the Super X show; I guess it’s possible she might make both, but I’m thinking Juvi should have another woman on standby.
FWIW, Ras de Lona had the top 2 as
4) Toscano, Atlantis, Delta vs Naito, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) La Mascara, La Sombra, Brazo de Plata vs Averno, Psicosis, Olimpico
which couldn’t have ever worked since Toscano and Psicosis are in GDL next Friday.

AAA IWL (FRI) 08/12/2011 Plaza de Toros, Huamantla, Tlaxaca
1) Freelance, Suicida, Turbo vs Centinela, Ojo Diabolico, Último Vampiro
2) Chica Tormenta & Fabi Apache vs Kamilión & Sexy Star
3) Low Rider vs Fantasma de la Ópera, Tribal, Dinamic Black, Eterno, Pesadilla, Black Fire, Daga, Flamita [TLC]
4) Laredo Kid vs Aerostar, Zumbi, Veneno, Tony Rivera, Fishman Jr., Drago, Kung Fu Jr., Ángel o Demonio, Cerebro Negro [mask, hair]
5) El Mesías, Electroshock, La Parka vs Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown

This is not an iPPV but interesting for the mask/hair match. Veneno, Tony, Angel o Demonio or Cerbero Negro?

30 thoughts to “Avernos vs GenDorada, Valiente/Polvora, Estrellita tecnica”

  1. Is CMLL going to be on late again today? It’s listed at a 4:45 start time but soccer is on my screen right now.

  2. @DragonGateFan: Yea, Soccer game went into OT (but it was running late anyway.) Not sure what will happen.

52MX, also starting a couple minutes late, but with 2 (Rayos vs Gen11) & 5 from Sunday.

  3. @Tim: Good stuff. Main event Torneo was real good from what I recall.

Updating folks on what aired in Mexico…

    CMLL: Expected.

AAA: Entire Tizayuca taping minus dark match (duh) and Aero Star/Super Fly trios match (duh). Apparently Pasion Kristal being on TV is much more important than a feud heading to a mask match this year.

  4. Local GDL starts w/ Super Halcon Jr. match. It was only yesterday I realized I first saw him in IWRG last year.

  5. @Tim: The term “sucks” may have to be redefined tonight as I’m sure whatever Super Halcon Jr. fucks up will be 20x worse when Magnus wrestles next.

  6. @Rob:

I don’t know what Halcon was thinking at the finish of the 3rd but he makes some of the ACM juniors looks good. He shouldn’t be on tv.

  7. Soberano is very thin but very good. Still way too early for him to be anywhere on TV though but if Magnus qualifies I guess anyone does. Good match.

  8. HMMM. Maybe someone in CMLL smartened up? They didn’t let Magnus do anything in that match. That’s the perfect use of him.

  9. Really good main event on GDL. Nice to see non comedy Felino make an appearance.

  10. How long has Yoshihashi been doing the Jackhammer as a finisher? That made me laugh for some reason.

  11. It continues to be obvious the Averno is not going to WWE. EIther people jumped the gun or one of the two parties involved pulled out of the deal. Most likely AVerno himself, although WWE is also a possibility. They recently rescinded contract offers to one former talent of theirs and possibly a second.

  12. @hank: When those agreements have been dropped in the past, the news didn’t say quiet for so long. I think Murdoch was on facebook before he even hung up the phone that one got out so fast.

I was told recently that Averno was due in WWE on 07/11, which is after this trios program started, so they’re (or at least HE is) doing the program with knowledge he’s got to be some place on Monday. But it seems possible to me that they could just let him have this Friday (and maybe next) off to finish up. Or CMLL could still not know, which would be hilarious times next Friday.

  13. ACM is the main event from the Llave Y Candados show last Sunday.

    5) Angel Dorado Jr., Dralion, Máscara Púrpura vs Golden Boy, Rey Demonio Jr., Simbolo

  14. Watching Sombra today, and I see why New Japan is putting him with the heavyweights. I don’t know what he’s doing, but he appears noticeably bigger to me.

  15. WarriorsX2000:

HOLA AMIGOS MUY BUENAS TARDES, HOY VENGO CON UNA MUY MALA NOTICIA, ME VOY 1 MES, NO SE SUBIRÁ NADA NI A DESCARGA DIRECTA NI AL CANAL, SE HS TOMADO ESA DECISIÓN Y ES UNA DECISIÓN FINAL, LES PIDO COMPRENSIÓN, POR ULTIMO TERMINARE DE SUBIR BIEN EL CMLL E IWRG, ADEMÁS DEL PROGRAMA EXPERIENCIAS CON EL HIJO DEL SANTO, COMO LO HABÍA ANUNCIADO, AAA NO LO VOY A SUBIR PORQUE FUE LA PRIMERA PARTE DE TRIPLEMANIA Y ESE EVENTO YA LO SUBÍ COMPLETO. SIN MAS POR EL MOMENTO ME DESPIDO Y REGRESAMOS EN 1 MES. SALUDOS.

  16. To be honest you gotta feel for WarriorsX2000. He puts a lot of work/time into uploading all these shows both to youtube and on his blog and it really is a thankless job. Just look at all the work he put into getting Triplemania up in two formats on various servers. Nobody even replied to the post on his blog and he got only 3 or 4 thanks in the chat box on the side of the page. Not to mention his links were used by others within a day without him getting any credit at all. At some point you have to think he’d just shrug his shoulders and ask why he’s doing all this hard work for nothing?

I offered to pay him back for Triplemania but he said that wasn’t neccessary. Still you have to wonder if everyone who grabbed a show donated $1 measly dollar as a thanks we may not be in this situation. Then again it is the age of getting everything for free on torrents/forums so people take it all for granted. I’ve had people ask where I get my Lucha footage and act absolutely appauled when I link them to Fredo’s site and suggest they put down $3 on a DVD.

With no AAA on Galavision any more, no LoverIce in business, no access to anything TVC Deportes related unless you happen to catch the random starts times on the MAYBE working online feed, no CMLL Fox Sports in the U.S., Fredo’s source sending months late and often missing random weeks of everything – you would think now would be a good time for the online lucha community to work together to find a way to make all these shows available even if it is for a small fee. I’m not even sure if guys like DylanWaco who beg for new IWRG understand the fact that all the 80’s Lucha they review wasn’t available for free. Someone recorded it onto tape and you paid them to copy it and send it to you. There was no link to go download the show 24 hours after it aired. Yes, I feel like I have to explain this.

Getting off my high horse now.

  17. @Rob:
You’re absolutley right! And I’d pay for old lucha shows if I could. I orderd them once on a website and what does the german duty law do? They take the dvd’s and they won’t send em to me, because of whatever the hell. So I’ve basically spent 20 bucks for nothing. I totally understand why Warriors is taking a little time off and I’ve thanked him on so many occasions, but I think most of the people are ungrateful. Lets find a why to solve this problem, Lucha Libre Fans!

  18. @Rob: so like, all us who would pay for these shows if they were released that way by the actual promotions should find a way to pay for these shows if they’re released ‘unofficially’ (and just deal with it if other people also release them to the public)?

Teleforumla is repeating the matches taped 05/02.

  19. @<a href="http://www.thecubsfan.com/cmll/?@Rob: He doesn’t want to make money for uploading shows. I think once you realize that, you won’t get too upset that people are not donating money to him.

A lot of the guys who upload to youtube/torrents don’t want to feel obligated in recording the show all the time.

  20. @Rob:

The exact same thing happens in the Japanese wrestling community. There is stupid idea amongst a lot of internet fans that it is their right to have everything available to them for free on the internet. They don’t understand that someone, somewhere, has put money, time and energy to get it there.

There was a moron over on SSS recently who complained about “jacquesrougeaus” prices on DVD’s, and said why he would pay 5 bucks, when he can just download them, not understanding that everything that isn’t a big name show pretty much comes from “jacques” spending his own money to get the DVD’s.

Pisses me off to no end. The sad thing is, if the promotions released DVD’s for a decent price and made them readily available, these same people still wouldn’t buy them, because of their self sense of entitlement.
