Delta vs Pólvora in a Forjando un Idolo semifinal match: pretty good for a Delta/Pólvora match. Nothing says “limited Pólvora offense” than having to do the same counter dropkick spot (without Delta ever hitting the move.) My new theory is some vet told Pólvora to slow down and Polvora’s really taken it to heart, except he has no idea what he’s supposed to be doing when he’s slowing things down. I’m really going to miss Shocker As Manager.
Ángel de Oro vs Fuego in a Forjando un Idolo semifinal match: possibly the least of the two matches? Or maybe it was just this one didn’t quite reach expectations and that one beat them. This match felt like it had about four minutes to go. The finish didn’t come over nowhere (because CMLL over does the leglock → reversed into a small package finish, though at least Fuego is using a figure four) but it felt like there was more for them to do or at least try to do.
Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano vs Metro, Super Porky, Valiente: this was fine enough to set up TRT as a rudo threat, right until the point where Terrible got a move reversed into a small package. They seem to believe Porky is so sympathetic that rudos get over strong just by fighting them.
La Máscara vs Averno: more a heat up angle than a match. La Máscara being blurred for minutes was pretty crazy. I know they talked about this at the press conference, but please please no Tirantes in the mask match. Please!
