Lineup via the good people at R de Rudo. By the way, luchalibreaaa.com is back up. I’m betting they’re coming back with a redesigned site real soon.

Zorro hasn’t actually wrestled (as far as I can tell) in a solid month. Would figure on him extending that streak here. Match doesn’t actually make any sense at the moment.

Then again, I would’ve figured they would have waited until TripleMania for Electroshock & Heavy Metal to team up and be friends. Maybe they’ll just be doing it unfriendly like here. This match is actually here to build up 187/Heavy Metal vs Ultimo Gladiador/Chessman/Silver King in a TLC match, which was added to TripleMania on AAA TV this past week. Surely Electroshock will be getting involved in that.

As promised, there’s that IWRG team. You know, given that we expect the finals of this tournament to take place at TripleMania and we know the Bizarros are already busy that night, there does exist a reason why the IWRG team might win this match. (Another reason: it keeps the Perros and the Bizarros seperate, assuming these are meant to be brackets.) I’d still be surprised if it Team IWRG won, but it’s not impossible.

I feel like there’s a better chance for that than the Air Force team advancing (especially since the show where it seems like they’re getting a new trios partner isn’t until AFTER this one.) Pretty sure when the Perros del Mal team was originally mentioned, Hijo del Lizmark was in X-Fly’s spot. You can’t hold X-Fly down.

Next announced taping is Neza, but it still feels like there must be a taping in the middle so Neza can be the lame duck taping airing the weekend of TripleMania. AAA still needs to run the semifinals for this tournament as well. I’m behind on AAA TV (and watched the US version), maybe they mentioned something?

  1. No TNA guys. It’s very likely this invasion angle will be over after Triplemanía and might return next year.

  2. That Perros team would seem to indicate that Perro himself won’t be wrestling at TripleMania.

Are we sure that they didn’t have a one year agreement between the two companies which might be expiring around the time of the show?

  3. What invasion angle? Just like always TNA guys will come in and either win or lose their matches and their participation will never be mentioned again afterwards. This is nothing new. Calling it an invasion angle is like saying CMLL invaded New Japan on the Tokyo Dome show. No. They participated on a major event. End of story, not begining of a storyline.

Lineup is fine. Don’t see the point of putting Brazo/Polvo on TV but at least they’re getting a paycheque. Fuerza Aerea will be squashed but that’s to be expected. I assume the IWRG team gets a lame win via interference as they match up well with the Perros for a semi-main.

There hasn’t been any other taping announced. I’d bet on the trios final occuring after Triplemania on a regular TV taping. But I guess they could always do the semi-finals at Arena Naucalpan IWRG shows since all the semi-final teams will be no strangers to that building. Clowns vs PdM would work for Triplemania and allow Perrito to do a run-in instead of actually wrestling and exposing himself as a fraud.

Wonder what happens with Electro Shock? He doesn’t fit in anywhere on the Triplemania card.

  4. @Rob:
Have you at least watched Jeff Jarret videos saying that they are going to take over? Aren’t they saying that AAA will change to TNA? Did this happen previous years before (including invasion promos and so many names mentioned)?

There’s no comparison with the other stuff you say.

  5. @Arakas: Yeah I saw the same silly videos before Verano De Escandalo 2005 and Verano De Escandalo 2006. Went nowhere. Just like this will. The proof is in those stupid Jarrett videos. How many ridiculous names did he mention – most of which won’t even be coming to Mexico? That’s how much thought is put into this “invasion”.

AAA is awesome these days. Working with a minor league promotion like TNA just cheapens AAA. The only people excited to see the TNA guys are Mexican fans that hate their own promotion.

  6. @Rob: Yup. They didn’t need TNA guys for Triplemania. Especially with such a big stip match on the card.

My feeling is that AAA wants TNA names in part because they have been successful in the past and Mexicans seem to pay to see American names. And TNA is trying to increase their presence in the Hispanic market in the US and would love to get talent that would help them at the box office and in the ratings. At some point, AAA will be free to do what they want in the US and they’ll probably work with TNA.
