la careta

Lluvia, Marcela, Silueta vs Amapola, La Comandante, Mima Shimoda: Silueta should benefit a lot from going to Japan; she’s only getting matches here when they send the women, and she’s probably only working with men at GDL’s school, so this is a really good opportunity for her. Silueta is perfectly fine by CMLL women’s standards and may be a lot better with more intensive work. (Same with Seuxis.) It’s still a surprising she’s going; there must’ve been a plan to send Estrella Magica at one point, to explain how she ended up on the poster. Lluvia seems like the young woman CMLL’s focusing on most and would make sense to get this chance, but I could understand not wanting to leave a child for three months.

Diamante & Valiente vs Escorpion & Vangelis: Fine match. Vangelis’ current go to stragety is to stand behind a fellow rudo and hope they toss someone to you. It’s working! Don’t often get countouts in straight falls but it worked here. We still need to get Escorpion a better and more fitting finisher. There’s too many people doing moonsaults for a rudo to be winning matches with a moonsault that’s not good. Even a swinging neckbreaker would help.

Perro Aguayo Jr., lists, UWE

Perros del Mal sent out a (poorly formatted) ad today, saying Perro Aguayo Jr. would return to the ring on May 8th in Cancun, in a taping for their show. Damian 666 told Record that Perro will appear on the 04/30 AAA TV taping before that. Perro’s tumor has been found to not be malignant, but he’ll still be undergoing chemothearpy for a year to clear out any residue, but the doctors gave him the okay to go out and wrestle once the wound closes. Perro may hold a press conference next Wednesday to talk about the situation.

Perro will end up missing about four weeks. It’s amazing that he’d be back so fast; so amazing that it doesn’t feel like we’re getting anything close to the truth.

CMLL Gaceta post: “Rush has a message to all his detractors”. It’s a list of moves Rush can do! He’s a guy who knows how to do many moves, unlike many fighters (hmmm.) This is supposed to impress. I laughed for about three minutes straight about this concept, but I need to preserve the list forever

  • German Suplex
  • backdrop (suplex)
  • Angle Slam
  • Belly to Belly suplex
  • powerslam
  • fisherman’s suplex
  • vertical suplex
  • Michinoku driver
  • Cradle Shock
  • Tope Suicida
  • Flying elbow out of the ring
  • Flying elbow in the ring
  • tope con giro over the top rope
  • Double stomp to the floor.

Also, he’s skilled on the mat! Video has Rush saying calling himself “the difference in lucha libre” many times. That’s the Perros del Mal tag line.

Forjando un Idolo matches: Diamante vs Hijo del Signo & Puma King vs Hijo del Signo.

You know, we haven’t gotten GDL results via Fuego en el Ring since Sunday 10th, which was a few days before Silueta left Guadalajara to Mexico City. (Naaaaaaah.)

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

04/20 AAA TV Results (Pachuca)

Drago/Mi Lucha Libre

AAA TV (WED) 04/20/2011 Lienzo Charro de Pachuca, Pachuca, Hidalgo [AAA, Mi Lucha Libre (1-2), Pitlane, Mi Lucha Libre (3), Mi Lucha Libre (4), Mi Lucha Libre (5)]
1) Atomic Boy, Fenix, Relampago b Dark Dragon, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana
Tiger Cota was the unannounced rudo. Both Relampago and Fenix ended up on the rudo side, one a replacement for Crazy Boy. Atomic Boy defeated Tito Santana with an inverted ‘rana.

In between matches, Dr. Wagner tried to call out the surprise wrestler for tonight’s show, but instead got Tito Santana. Tito, relating a message from Konnan, slapped Wagner. Wagner laid him out with a Wagner Driver, then vowed to take care of the new guy if he’s not with AAA.
2) Alan Stone, Chris Stone, Súper Fly b Aerostar, El Elegido, Laredo Kid
Aerostar wiped out on a dive and was strechered out. Super Fly pinned Laredo Kid.
3) Chessman, Silver King, Último Gladiador b Electroshock, Extreme Tiger, Jack Evans
Chessman pinned Electroshock with a 450 splash. Maniacos attacked Electroshock after the match and Heavy Metal ran in to make the save. Metal explained it was so he didn’t owe anything to Electroshock for saving him previously.
4) Drako, Joe Lider, La Parka b Charly Manson, Cibernético, Escoria
Drako is a green lizard thing who’s moves bare a striking similarity to Gato Eveready. Cibernetico, Dorian and Konnan all tried to recruit him before the match, but Drago dropkicked Konnan and dived onto the Milicia guys outside the ring. Drago picked up the win with green mist, a tornillo onto Charly and was generally treated like a big deal. After the match, Parka told Cibernetico that he’d seen Cibernetico’s recent videos, and stole something form his house to pay him back. Hope it’s not his dog. Drago threatened to burn Cibernetico too.
5) Damián 666, Halloween, Hijo del Lizmark, X-Fly b Dr. Wagner Jr., Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
Wagner was wearing a combo Psycho Clown/Dr. Wagner mask. Halloween fouled Monster Clown for the win. Rudos went for the masks, Jack, Lider, Drako and Parka all ran in for the save.

recap: here

Metálico & Trueno vs Inquisidor & Tiger Kid: My memory of this match is dimmed by local commercial interrupting the finish; I was more distracted by trying to find a phone number or an email address or anything. There’s so little information on local affiliates of LATV, I suppose we should be happy it airs at all. This was OK.

Ángel de Plata, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Nitro, Skándalo: Arkangel can be interesting when he likes, and his battle with Rey Cometa to start off the match was pretty good. I liked the third fall, and the dives (gif doesn’t do the best job of capturing Cometa’s great tornillo, go watch the video.)
