CMLL Guerreros del Ring on 52MX #280 (04/02/2011)

taped @ Arena Coliseo, 03/27/2011

file: here
recap: here

Bobby Zavala, Hijo del Signo, Hombre Bala Jr. vs Inquisidor, Mortiz, Rayo Tapatío I: Zavala & Signo are ill suited for being tecnicos, but were fine here. Weird that Hombre Bala’s big showcase dive isn’t a straight tope – he is the bulletman, after all.

Rush, Toscano, Valiente vs Mephisto, Misterioso Jr., Rey Bucanero: Really didn’t like this one much, as much for the layout as anything. Bucanero’s being set up (with a 1 week build!) for a title shot against Rush…so he runs away from Rush thru the match, for no reason other than he is Rush and he is mighty. Bucanero doesn’t want a match with Rush, Bucanero isn’t the champion, why should I want to see them have a match? Okay, let’s go with that anyway, Bucanero runs because he can’t match up with Rush, and then the finish is…Bucanero beats Rush, completely clean, with a powerbomb. No feet on the rope, no foul, no Zacarias interference, Bucanero just beats the big scary guy, who’s not actually that tough after all. Sure, Bucanero earns a title shot, but it’s a match between a scared guy and a beatable guy. Not a good build.

Comando Negro wins again, Silueta to Japan

Nothing new on Perro. I always figure that’s good news – really bad news travels fast.

Fuego en el Ring says Silueta from Guadalajara will also be heading to Japan for three months. She’s surely going to be training in the same promotion as Seuxis, kind of surprising they didn’t mention it at the press conference.

Luchas2000 #565 has Sin Cara and WrestleMania.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.
