CMLL Sin Piedad TV Recap (12/03/10)

taped @ Arena Mexico, 12/03/2010

Recap: LATV, the rest
File: LATV.

Don’t have a handy download (or YouTube) link for the rest. Matches 3 thru 5 aired on TV, and main event aired has only aired on SamuraiTV. That’s where I watched the top four matches. Probably less editing than Televisa, though even they were cutting out in between falls to fit in two hours. The only match not around in some form (yet) is Mr. Aguila vs Rey Bucanero and…well, you don’t need to see that.

This is a combo of CMLL on LATV (03/05/2011) and the SamuraiTV airing of the full show. Guess I could’ve tracked down the Televisa episode, but I think I’m seeing more of the matches this way. Read More

***Hijo del Anibal benefit show***
1) Mantiz & Osmo Negro b Dragon Celestial & Monstruo
2) Mascarita Sagrada & Mini Skayde b Coquito Negro & Pentagoncito
3) Acertijo (IWRG), Cerebro Negro, Super Muñeco, Súper Pinocho DQ Coco Amarillo, Coco Azul, Coco Rojo, Coco Verde
Coco Rojo fouled Super Muneco for the DQ. Acertijo (presumably not the GDL guy) & Cerebro Negro replaced Super Raton & Super Raton 3000.
4) Black Terry, Shu el Guerrero, Solar I b Dr. Cerebro, El Hijo del Diablo, Negro Navarro
Solar and Negro Navarro went to a double pin. I am so shocked. Luckily, their partners had the good sense not to make them the captains. Dr. Cerebro (in for Cerbero Negro) took out Shu el Guerrero with a dive, and Black Terry powerbombed Diablo for the win.
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan b El Hijo De Huracan Ramirez & Huracan Ramirez and Hijo del Pantera & Pantera
Ultraman and Son were scheduled for this match, do not appear to have appeared.
6) El Hijo del Solitario, Fuerza Guerrera, Lizmark Jr. b Blue Demon Jr., Tinieblas Jr., Veneno
Demon pinned Fuerza for the win, then complained on Twitter about luchadors not being serious enough. After the match, Anibal came out to thank everyone for their support, but Tinieblas attacked him.

Tonight’s the second block of the Gran Alternativa.

Main event is the CMLL unique tecnico team of Rush, Super Porky, and the returning Strong Man vs Mr. Aguila, Olimpico and Goto. The WON said last week’s show drew around 4,200 and that was actually a significantly stronger main event. CMLL says Horuz is debuting his new outfit on this show. There will also likely be a lot of promotion for Saturday’s boxing event, featuring a safe bout for Edgar Sosa.

AAA rudo announcer Arturo Rivera underwent surgery yesterday for a bad lung infection. The surgery went fine, but the articles say the following 72 hours are critical.

Ultimo Guerrero is cooler than you

Pólvora vs Sangre Azteca in a lightning match: Bad with a lame finish. Among the high points of Sangre Azteca being a tecnico (which he wasn’t yet here) is cutting down from the low blow dropkicks. It’s still two or three a match, but that’s better than every other move.

Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada vs Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito: As seen on LATV. It was good then.

Diamante, Metro, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Raziel, Shigeo Okumura: Diamante screwed up in early, and the fans were done with the tecnicos for the rest of the match. Arena Mexico can be very supportive, but it doesn’t take much for them to loudly turn on someone. Raziel was so thrilled to get a pinfall in the third fall of a major show; it’s been a good fifteen months. Euforia pulling off Stuka’s mask was a fine build to the mask match they’ll surely be having, sometime in 2024. Slooooooow build.

Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Valiente vs Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero: This was the only match on the show that felt like a proper (re)-introduction to CMLL, or even a big match on a big show. There’s no way CMLL planned this week’s TV show to be a big anything – once they knew they were up against a Mexico National Team Futbol game, there’s no sense in that at all – but I also don’t think particularly care that they’re back on in the US and this was the first show. They’ve made no mention of this show (or the LATV show, or the Teleformula show, and the Puebla show is iffy at best); there are surely some people in CMLL who know and care, but those people aren’t the big decision makers or the ones in charge of promoting things.
