AAA on Televisa #982 (03/19/2011)

fans getting involved all over this show

Same week turnaround! Please ignore me actually watching this a couple weeks ago.

taped @ Lienzo Charro Ignacio León Ornelas, Irapuato, Guanajuato, 02/28/2011

file: here
recap: here

Mascarita Divina, Mini Charly Manson, Octagoncito vs Mini Chessman, Mini Histeria, Mini Psicosis: A minis match! It’s generally good, Divina has totally surpassed Charly Manson, Octagoncito wins, and then they go away for six weeks. Mini Histeria seemed to step it in this match, a lot closer to Mini Abismo rudo-ism than usual.

Heavy Metal vs Electroshock: We’ve gone from a guitar shot ending a match to a guitar shot starting a match. That’s not the way to go. Great work by the camera keeping up with the crowd brawl. This was much more easy to follow than when they were doing these every week. The finish seemed edited to heck and didn’t really make any sense. In general, there’s a lot more editing in recent episodes – some of it has to be time issues, and some of it is just random.

Cuervo & Ozz vs Damián 666 & Zorro: finish on the website is wrong, Zorro got the hand raised after Charly ran in. Zorro is getting stalked by a mysterious man, he’s frequently outnumbered by the Bizarros, he’s taking a cheese grater to the head – Zorro’s totally the tencico here, even if they don’t know it.

Dr. Wagner Jr. vs LA Park, Nicho el Millionario, Halloween [RdR SF]: The Damian maybe accidental anti-LA Park stuff came of a lot stronger in the website recap than it did on TV, though this was another finish really clipped up. You couldn’t really tell he had been involved unless you looked for it and it didn’t make sense with the pin.

Extreme Tiger, Jack Evans, La Parka vs Charly Manson, Cibernético, Escoria: AAA likes booking matches where one team win, and then they’re immediately destroyed so the win doesn’t really matter. The LA Park win in the last match won (and all the Rey de Reyes ones have come off strong), this decision not so much. I’m not really sure why Parka and Wagner had to agree to have wholly different matches, but Ozz endorsed the idea so I’m okay with it.

03/21 AAA TV Results (Leon)

AAA TV (MON) 03/21/2011 Domo de la Feria, Leon [AAA]
1) Angelico, Argenis, FenixDark Dragon, Polvo de Estrellas, Tito Santana
Fenix replaced Dralion. Angelico is the South African who has been in IWRG. Fenix pinned Dragon again.

After the first match, Konnan, Jennifer, and La Milicia came to the ring. Konnan said the Milicia had yet to accomplish anything since forming and they were infiltrated by the traitor Billy. These failures all reflect on Decnnis as leader. Konnan demoted him, put Super Fly in charge, and demanded better from his men.

2) Alan Stone, Decnnis, Tigre CotaCuervo, El Elegido, Ozz
Milicia won, with help from Konnan. Decnnis got the pin.
3) Aerostar & Laredo KidChris Stone & Súper Fly
Super Fly, new leader, immediately loses. Laredo beat him with a 450 splash. Put Tito in charge! Milicia beat up the tecnicos after the maatch.
4) Extreme Tiger & Jack EvansSilver King & Último Gladiador [AAA TAG]
New champions, off stereo top rope flipping moves (450 by Tiger, 630 by Jack) for double pins.
5) Charly Manson, Cibernético, EscoriaEspíritu, Joe Lider, La Parka
Escoria was conflicted about finishing Espiritu, but followed orders and guillotined his former tag partner (who was already in El Pozo) for the winning pin. Ozz & Cuervo ran out to help Espiritu after the match, and Parka said it wasn’t over with him and Cibernetico after the whole “attempting to burn Parka alive” thing.
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. & El MesíasDamián 666 & LA Park
A crowd brawl, as usual. Wagner beat Damian with the Wagner Driver, though it did not end the fight. Park cracked Mesias in the head with a chair, then dropped him with a martinete. Parka & the Black Family belatedly ran out of the save, but came out in plenty of time for Wagner to talk about a teamup, as usual.

Ultimo Guerrero vs Mr. Niebla, X-Fly, Monterrey

CMLL (MON) 03/21/2011 Arena Puebla [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Asturiano & Stigma CO Fuerza Chicana & King Jaguar
Tecnico dives led to finish.
2) Centella de Oro, Metatrón, Super Halcon Jr. b Disturbio, Hijo del Signo, Siki Ozama Jr.
Super Halcon Jr. pinned Disturbio to win his debut.
3) Diamante, Dragon Lee, Fuego b Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Yoshihashi
Dragon Lee and Arkangel made mask vs mask challenges. (No.)
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Delta, Hijo del Fantasma, Sangre Azteca
5) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero b Mr. Niebla, Terrible, Texano Jr.
Even though it made no sense for Bucanero to be on the Guerreros team, he was a professional and did not betray them. Terrible and Texano took out Atlantis & Rey Bucanero and Niebla thought he had UG beat. Though too soon, and UG cradles him for a pin. Niebla demanded a rematch for next week.

X-Fly defended his Mexican National Heavyweight Championship, defeating Super Crazy on Sunday with some help from Low Rider.

Ryusuke Taguchi will defend the CMLL Welterweight Championship in NJPW on April 3 versus Madoka. Madoka is a Tokyo based independent wrestler who beat Taichi in a singles match last month. He’s at least as deserving a title match as Inquisidor.

Latin Lover (of course) won his match in Chicago on Sunday, and did a video interview with SuperLuchas about what he’s up to. They also have a hand held video of Zorro vs Charly Manson.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and is up to 60 to 51 on the 2010 countdown.

WarriorsX2000

I’d like to integrate these with the lucha match db, so we can search back for these at the year end a lot easier later on. I have a faint impression on how I’d build that, but not really the time to work on it (without neglecting other things, like a life outside of lucha-related stuff.)

Even if I got that done, we’d probably be better off if we threw together MOTY type lists on a shorter time basis, instead of waiting until to December. We just need a good place and time to do it.
