Black Terry loses his hair, Guadalajara

Black Terry Jr.

IWRG (SUN) 01/23/2011 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring, Al Filo del Ring, Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Mi Lucha Libre, Mi Lucha Libre (2)]
1) Dinamic Black b Keshin Black
2) Kamilión & Sexy Lady b La Hechicera & Ludark Shaitan
a poor match
3) Comando Negro, Gran Apache, Masada b Cerebro Negro, Multifacético, Negro Navarro
Comando Negro beat Dr. Cerbero and challenged him to a title match next week.
4) Ángel Mortal b Black Terry  [hair]
Gran Apache did not wrestle, but helped Angel Mortal as a second. Negro Navarro, Dr. Cerbero & El Brazo (?) all tried to counter Gran Apache, but Angel Mortal won the third fall with a hand on the rope. A commissioner ordered a restart, and Angel Mortal again used the ropes to get the pin. Terry got his head shaved anyway.
5) Bestia 666, Damián 666, X-Fly b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
Damian 666 beat 911 clean to set up a title match next week.

Black Terry video:
Tercera: fall 1, fall 2, fall 3
Semimain: fall 1, fall 2, fall 3, fall 4

Fun fact: Cerebro Negro’s IWRG lightweight title is the only IWRG singles title still in the promotion.

Welterweight: CIMA (something happened here, I think)
Super Welterweight: Mistico
Middleweight: Negro Casas
Heavyweight: Silver King (much more interested in wearing it in promos than defending it)
Women’s: Amapola

The Americas Light Heavyweight championship seems to have matriculated back to Negro Navarro and Solar to justify their draws, so they don’t have that one to play with either. I bet we see IWRG create a light heavyweight title this year.

CMLL (SUN) 01/23/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Acertijo b El Divino
2) Hierro & Leono b Camorra & Infierno
3) Meteoro, Último Dragoncito, Virgo b Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
Virgo replaced Mini Maximo. Not sure why I’m bringing this up here, but no sign of Perico on this card. The rudos were about to take the match when Virgo surprised Pierrothito with an armbar for the upset.
4) Misterioso Jr. & Sagrado b Felino & Gallo [Relevos Increíbles]
Felino and Gallo could not work together, Felino finally fouling Gallo for a straight fall loss. The two agreed to a title rematch next week.
5) Blue Panther, Rotoporky, Toscano b Ephesto, Mephisto, Rey Bucanero
Rudos took the first, tecnicos the last two

FWIW, a Box Y Lucha poster says Sexi Star was at Friday’s Arena Mexico show (in addition to Tuesday’s), watching from the back section of the seats. And I bet she thought Polvora vs Sangre Azteca was horrible too. AAA doesn’t have her listed anywhere tomorrow, so maybe she can tweet her thoughts on Marcela vs Amapola?

4) Magno b RJ Brewer [hair]
built up on the last set of tapings. Brewer had Petey Williams and Lizzy Valentine with him, and won the match with a chain punch. Referee noticed the chain and restarted the match. Brewer tried to run out on the stip, but Rocky Romero cut him off and returned him for the haircut.
5) Petey Williams b Charly Malice
Brewer helped give Petey the win.

7) Oriental & Tinieblas Jr. b PR Flyer & San Juan Kid and Rellik & Sydistiko [MW TAG]
Tournament final, I guess. Mysterious men in black attacked the Puerto Ricians, and Tinieblas took advantage to win the titles
8) Mascarita Dorada, Mini Park, Octagoncito b Pequeño Halloween, Tigresa Caliente, Vladamiro
Tigresa chatted on her phone and didn’t participate. Her partners tagged her in, and Tigresa angrily attacked everyone. Giant woman Isis debut to fight her to the back (epic), and Dorada won the match
9) Shane Helms DQ Lizmark Jr.
Lizmark fouled Helms for the DQ. Marco helped run off Treachery post match.

Nine matches probably means three shows. They now have five episodes to air, and no defined air date. Last timme, they were saying late January. This taping, they were just saying ‘soon’. Not a promising sign, and not a really good night for the the tecnicos. Strange that Super Nova and Rocky Romero both worked multiple shows without getting a match. Recapper notes a lot of delays between matches.

Next taping here was 02/05, but tickets.com lists that show as canceled and now has a 02/19 taping instead.
