Bizarros win in IWRG, LLUSA, lineups

Black Terry Jr.

IWRG (THU) 01/06 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring, Mi Lucha Libre, Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Mi Lucha Libre (2)]
1) Alan Extreme b Héros
2) Carta Brava Jr. & Eterno b Dinamic Black & Magia Negra
3) La Parkita (AAA) & Mascarita Divina b Mini Histeria & Mini Psicosis
4) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Jack
5) Amadeus, Nygma, Tabú b Pantera, Tony Rivera, Veneno

Nygma snuck in a foul on Veneno (who may be a tecnico now?) for the win.

Jack replaced Gringo Loco, and that team took the loss. Terrible Cerebros want another title show. That match is on Black Terry Jr.’s youtube site.

Mi Lucha Libre has an audio interview with La Parkita from this show.

Looks like a sparse turnout early but filled in a bit as the show turned up.

Lucha Libre USA announced they’ll be running tapings on 01/22 (hyping the minis) and 02/05 in Albuquerque. They’ve also got local TV on KLUZ-TV, the Univision affiliate in Albuquerque. Looks like it’s Saturdays at 10AM. It’s a really smart idea – it can only help the turnout if there’s another place for locals to see the show.

CMLL returns to Friday night Arena Mexico shows. This is the first Friday/Saturday show in a month without a tournament; the last one was Sin Piedad. There’s not much going into tonight’s card: Sombra & Mascara Dorada return from Japan to team with Super Porky in a happy main event against Volador, Negro Casas, Averno, plus the Mephisto & Fantasma continue to face off in the semimain.

Mascara Dorada talks about going to Japan. He’s wearing a new blue mask in the photos walking around the outside of the Tokyo Dome. Dorada feels the crowd liked them, because they chanted their names as they left. Dorada plans on defending his title against Taguchi, then to challenge Prince Devitt for his title and his hair. Dorada also figures the trios title defense will be tough because No Limit & Okumura will have home country advantage, but they’re ready to face anyone anywhere.

CMLL Sin Piedad airs on Japan’s Samurai TV on 01/21. There’s a PDF schedule here.

That semimain looks adventurous.  Main even doesn’t look great shakes but its’ an interesting card.

indy (WED) 01/19 Arena Lopez Mateos

Rocky Santana won’t be in IWRG this Sunday, but he is scheduled to face Black Terry and friends here. The main event is hyped as the first part of a tournament, so there’s probably another bracket to come.

  1. I know this is going back some time, but didn’t some magazine pay for somebody (I want to say Trio Fantasia) to rip off La Parka’s mask so they could snap a photo proving it was Principe Island, or something like that? Maybe they still hold a grudge?

  2. @New Talking Wall: It was Super Pinocho – Jose mentioned it the Super Muneco bio that’s on the luchawiki. It’s been nearly 20 years, so I’d guess he’s over it by now.
