CMLL Guerreros del Ring on 52MX #262 (11/27/2010)

Arena Coliseo, 11/21/2010

a finish, or three

Leono, Metálico, Trueno vs Demus 3:16, Escorpion, Puma King: Rudos were very fun, Leono was very much not. Demus being in this level of matches kind of makes me worry leaving the minis is not actually a promotion (Leono or Bam Bam?), but at least he’s hanging around a right group of rudos.

Fuego, Máximo, Toscano vs Pólvora, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi: A match that occurred. Yoshihashi was fine. Fuego could really use a regular trio, if only there was an opening for one.

Puebla, Hijo de Cien Caras, lineup

CMLL (MON) 11/29 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio, KrisZ]
1) Lestat & Stigma b Espiritu Maligno & Siki Osama
2) Durango Kid, Hooligan, Inquisidor b Astro Boy, Starman, Trueno
3) Cancerbero, Nitro, Raziel b Ángel Azteca Jr., Diamante, Pegasso
4) Rush, Sagrado, Toscano b Shigeo Okumura, Taichi, Yoshihashi
5) Brazo de Plata, Shocker, Strong Man b Héctor Garza, Texano Jr., Volador Jr.

Pegasso actually turned up! Rey Cometa is still at large.

Luchas2000 said the opener was the best match.

Hijo de Cien Caras

The nightclub, owned by the woman with him, is said to have been distributing drugs.

El Hijo del Santo says his goodbyes. It’s also the best obit I’ve seen. It also mentions Hijo de Cien Caras was married, not to the woman in the car, and had four children.

Other News

SuperLuchas both mentions an unnamed radio show rumor that Satanico was being removed as in charge of Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, and then confirms Satanico, Mascara Magica and Pato Soria are still running the place. Presumably this is the radio show Apolo Dantes appears on in Guadalajara.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 12/07 Arena Mexico
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Apolo Estrada Jr. & Disturbio
2) Leono, Metálico, Molotov vs Durango Kid, Escorpion, Puma King
3) Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa, Sensei vs Loco Max, Nitro, Skándalo
4) Blue Panther, Shocker, Toscano vs Misterioso II, Terrible, Texano
5) Dragón Rojo Jr. & Último Guerrero vs Héctor Garza & Mr. Águila [CMLL TAG]

Dragon Rojo & Ultimo Guerrero will break the defense record if they keep defending it every three weeks. This is a better topic for Friday’s preview, but it does seem unlikely the Invasors will be swept again if they’re meant to continue at all in 2011.

Semimain is Terrible’s return after being hurt in Japan.

AAA on Televisa #966 (11/27/2010)

Centro de Convenciones de Tlalnepantla, 11/07/2010:

Mascarita Divina & Octagoncito vs Mini Histeria & Mini Psicosis: Fun quick match which might have been better in a crowd more ready for it. Everyone looked good, Divina didn’t attempt to break a leg on a headscissors to the floor, and the finish was good.

AAA guys can dive too

Fabi Apache & Mari Apache vs Kayuga & Oyuki: Kayuga & Oyuki are entertaining, good in the ring, and need to have many rematches. This was an actual good AAA women’s match – not a ‘good for those involved’ or ‘good thanks to the guys carrying it’ – but an actual good women’s match and it’s been a long gap without them.

Aerostar, Extreme Tiger, Jack Evans vs Billy Boy, Chris Stone, Decnnis: Another fun match, somewhat better than I expected because Jack & Tiger really didn’t face the Milita guys much ever before they were Militia and they meshed pretty well. None of these opening matches are going anywhere – even the belt stealing angle hasn’t been followed up in the women’s match – but they were all enjoyable by themselves.

Joe Lider, Nicho el Millionario, Ozz vs Damián 666, El Ilegal, Halloween: Ilegal got an actual introduction and people talking him up, which is about 100% more attention they usually give people. It’s not a big surprise he appears to hanging around a while, seemingly as alternate-Homicide. He was fine here, but this match didn’t do a lot for me.

Cibernético, El Mesías, La Parka Jr. vs Chessman, Hernandez, Zorro: How did the Militia know what Skull Mask looks like when his mask is off, given he’s normally a masked man? Every time Parka starts yelling like a mad man, Cibernetico looks the sane one.
