12/04-05 Lucha Times

box

Edit: Updated Thursday morning. I forgot the Times part of this post, and it changes a few things.

AAA-US: Preempted on Saturday for the Teleton. 2 hours, so the version I’ve seen is missing quite a bit. In the stuff I have: Psycho Clowns, a meeting of the New Blood Rising Reenancement Society, and Zorro gets himself a title shot.

52MX: Preempted on Saturday for the Teleton (and so is Ras de Lona.) Dragon Rojo & Sangre Azteca do not agree to disagree. Also, Bronco & Distubrio appear.

LATV: probably a rerun?.

TeleFormula: Demus/Escorpion/Semental vs Delta/Diamante/Gallo should be fun. Also, Mascara/Mistico/Sagrado vs Invasors

——-

CMLL: last year, they air the Year End show the day after. Maybe they’ll do it again? NOT preempted for the Teleton.

AAA-MEX: secret Toluca taping!

AAA-LLP: Preempted for FIFA Beach Soccer Tournament

CMLL-FOX: Preempted for FIFA Beach Soccer Tournament

CMLL-C3: Guerreros vs Invasors. This show and boxing are the only non-Teleton shows scheduled to air on this channel.

CMLL-Mega6: Black Metal/Metal Blanco vs Evola/Sangre Azul, in his debut, in the exclusive match. Mega6 does not have it’s listening up, so I’m not sure if this will actually air.

Puebla: still on Mondays. No telling because I haven’t seen a sign of this show in a while.

ACM: still on! No telling because they’re a bit random.

Perros del Mal: still on! No telling, but they should be on to new stuff.

IWRG: still on! Probably the Hijo del Cien Caras main event because why not?

CMLL-TFN: Diamante vs Escorpion in a lighting match, minis, Avernos vs Hector/Volador/Strong

CMLL Guadalajara on Teleformula #22 (11/21/2010)

Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, 10/26/2010

just let Porky splash

Show never went up on the website, so I put the matches on DailyMotion.

Hijo del Fantasma & Toscano vs Felino & Sangre Azteca: Felino & Toscano again! Enough of this. Sangre Azteca looked 10x more interested in the match when it was just the final sprint with Fantasma than any time before.

Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr. vs La Sombra, Máximo, Rotoporky: With enough practice, the rudos are not only going to be able to catch Porky and walk with him, but they’ll be able to set him back down on his feet. (And then they’ll start slapping each other.) This was either a fun comedy match or boring GDL is causing me to lose it.

Invasors vs Guerreros, Hijo de Cien Caras

Rosa Driver/CMLL

Upcoming: The plan is for a chat on Friday night for Sin Piedad. I’m busy for part of the time Guerra de Titanes is on, and we’ll at least get radio coverage of the CMLL show.

CMLL (TUE) 11/30 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Mortiz & Zayco b Camaleón & Freesbe
2) Astral, Fantasy, Pequeño Halcón b Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Universo 2000
3) Fabián el Gitano, Fuego, Rush b Dr. X, Loco Max, Virus
4) Metro, Rotoporky, Shocker b Shigeo Okumura, Texano, Vangelis
5) Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila, Taichi b Atlantis, Misterioso II, Último Guerrero

Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero had Garza & Aguila in Atlantidas, but the Invasors slipped out and cradled them for the win. Hector & Mr. Aguila demanded a tag title shot, and the Guerreros accepted. Everyone but Aguila teams up on Friday in the semimain.

Hijo de Cien Caras

La Presna – again, bloody picture of dead body, I’m skipping the link – goes into the background of the woman who also murdered, Adela de Luna Gonzalez. Her age is now being listed as 50, and it’s said that she was divorced (though there’s different reports there.) She and her ex-husband were under investigation by the Mexico City Justice Department for “shady dealings.” They currently owned a nightclub together, but bought it with money from their previous job: smuggling goods from Asian countries into Veracruz, Manzanillo and Colima.

Al Filo del Ring has more memories of Hijo de Cien Caras.

Other News

CMLL sent out an interview with Latin Lover to hype Friday’s show. Tacked to start of the interview, there’s a note declaring “Latin Lover is now using the name Latino.” This is not mentioned in the interview at all and seems to be a last minute switch, since it was all “Latin Lover” up to now. The poster for the show has been similarly changed. This is a clear case of AAA being able to enforce it’s trademarks.

SuperLuchas wonders if Vampiro could be a surprise Bizarro. That would end in tears. The background image for AAA’s website has a photo of the surprise Bizarro, who appears to be a man in a hat.

Mi Lucha Libre brags Joe Lider has twice been in a coma due to concussions.  That is not a good thing.

AAA in AJPW
12/01: Maskatsu Funaki & Minoru Suzuki b Ozz & Cuervo [Suzuki piledriver Cuervo]
Ozz & Cuervo are 4-2, 8 points, tied for second. Though this is probably the point where they start dropping down.

Sexi Star in Japan
11/28: Super FMW – Cherry Bomb & Sext Star b Kaori Yoneyama & Senri Kuroki [Sexi Bomb (?) on Kuroki]
SuperLuchas has photos of Sexi Star in the mask store everyone ends up in. Mi Lucha Libre also has a photo.

Rob has the first in a series of music videos too hot for YouTube: TripleMania ’08.

Lineup

IWL (SUN) 12/05 Deportivo Tlalli
1) Daga, Naruto, Turbo vs Black Thunder, Fantasma de la Ópera, Low Rider
2) Villano III vs Negro Navarro [Torneo de Maestros, tournament]
3) Skayde vs  Black Terry [Torneo de Maestros, tournament]
3) Canek & Hijo de Medico Asesino vs Heddi Karaoui & Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.

SuperLuchas has the lineup. IWL didn’t have enough titles already. Decades after this promotion closes, these titles will still be bouncing around some place.

Lineup fixed. Mortal lock Solar’s in the other half of this tournament.

CMLL on LATV (11/20/2010)

ramp gone bad

Arena Mexico, 11/05/2010

Astral, Bam Bam, Eléctrico vs Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior: Oh, Astral. He’s been improving, but this was not a good moment. I have low hopes for being able to follow the Electrico/Warrior feud on this show, given how it’s been airing. It’s a nice thought to give this show something.

ramp gone good

Metro, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Felino, Misterioso II, Vangelis: I’d say Valiente would be a more interesting trios partner for Metro & Stuka than the three guys nominated, but they really ought to let Valiente defend his title in Mexico City at some point. There was a point where I liked Vangelis in this match, so anything is possible.
