Sad clowns, CMLL, missing Perros, Puebla

Arlequin Negro/Estrellas del Ring

IWRG (THU) 11/04 Arena Naucalpan [En el Ring, Estrellas del Ring, Mi Lucha Libre]
1) Keshin Black b Tonatiuh
2) Dinamic Black & Freelance b Hammer & Magia Negra
3) Bugambilia del Norte, Miss Gaviota, Pimpinela Escarlata b Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Guerrero Negro
4) Cerebro Negro & Dr. Cerebro b Crazy Boy & Joe Lider [cage]
5) Arlequin Negro L Hijo del Cien Caras, El Hijo de Aníbal, Trauma I, Oficial AK47, Comando Negro, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Centauro, Oficial 911, Carta Brava Jr., Alan Extreme [castle of terror, mask, cage]

The cage match went 10 minutes before everyone stated to leave. Alan Extreme, Oficial AK-47, Trauma I, Carta Brava Jr. and Centauro all left in normal fashion. Comando Negro gave Arelquin Negro with a martinete, everyone else in the cage realized Arelquin was out, and they all climbed out of the cage at the same time. They all escaped, and Arelquin Negro lost his mask. He’s Jorge Hernandez Gomez, from Michoacan, 8 years a wrestler.

As everyone notes, this is the third Arlequin to lose his mask in fall IWRG cage matches in three years. Arlequin Amarillo lost his mask to Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. in 2008’s Castle of Terror and Arlequin Rojo lost his mask to Rigo in a September 2009 cage match (losers of cage matches facing off.)

Comando Negro was credited with the win. This is his second apuesta win in a short time. After the match, Pirata Morgan appeared to attack Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. and takes his mask (as well as some fan’s masks.)

Semimain was a cage match too. With the other two out, Crazy Boy tried to put Dr. Cerebro thru a flaming table, but Dr. Cerebro reversed, sent Crazy thru, and escaped for the win.

Arena Mexico previews: OEM, CMLL PR, Televisa Deportes.

Main event is scheduled to be Mascara, Sombra, Mistico vs Los Guerreros. Atlantis is still listed in the main event, despite missing the title match on Tuesday with a rib injury. Semimain is a CMLL vs Invasors cibernetico. Invasors probably will get a win, but it seems too late for them.

Perro Aguayo Jr. is off “the War” Perros/independent show in Tijuana this Saturday. The promotion says it’s a knee injury; likely the same sort of knee injury that’s been bedeviling Mr. Niebla. Blue Demon Jr. will take his place.

AAA’s recent list of spot show lineups include a match for Jennifer Blake, who hasn’t been around in a couple months, and reveal someone doesn’t know how to spell “Argenis”.

On his podcast yesterday, Colt Cabana said he was supposed to work the 10/31 IWL show, but the promoter pulled him off the show. The promoter told Colt that he didn’t want to bring in American because another American had just no showed because he was too scared to go to Mexico. (That’d be Scott Summers, who missed the 10/16 show.) It wasn’t clear if he’d eventually be back.

Rob watched CMLL FOX 10/29/10.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 11/08 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano, Black Tiger, Milenium vs Akron, Ares, Espiritu Maligno
2) Fabián el Gitano, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Cancerbero, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi

4) Hijo del Fantasma, Shocker, Toscano vs Felino, Taichi, Volador Jr.
5) Místico vs Rey Bucanero

Rey Bucanero gets his singles match! Probably won’t be so happy about it. Valiente is the best possible Mascara Dorada fill in, though the title match likely isn’t for another week. Dorada and Sombra should be back on 11/15.

  1. This is off topic but what ever happened to Gringo Loco?
I thought he was doing great leading the Gringos VIP and looked like a star in his time in IWRG especially against Los Terribles Cerebros.

  2. Past weekend. Late due to national holiday.

    Smackdown 8.7
    CMLL 2.6
    AAA 4.1
    RAW 10.2

CMLL aired at 4:30p, it’s fourth time change in as many weeks.

RAW rating was up due to everyone having Tuesday off.

  3. @thecubsfan thanks I am happy to hear he will be back soon, its not the same whn Diablo and Avisman where the costume without Gringo Loco there.

  4. Cubs tweet about invasores is interesting. I think they should do Sarah Stock vs. Tiffany hair vs. hair for year end. That would probably draw better than Casas vs. Manson.

Even though Stock vs. Estrellita was the focus of the women’s match a few weeks ago, it was Tiffany who applied that hellacious “planta” or face down power bomb on her, and Tiffany is a much bigger star.

  5. @LLL – Tiffany getting shaved wouldn’t help the Invasores cause though. And Sarita isn’t getting shaved if she’s working TNA.

  6. @LLL: Tiffany is the bigger star, but I think Estrellita has been doing the challenge because she’s the one who wants that payday. It takes two.

  7. @Tim: She’s better looking. I still think Tirantes would be better served as the spokesman for the Invasores since he cuts a good promo. As a ref, it would be fine one time for him to show up as the special referee in Arena Mexico to help the Invasores, but not so often.

  8. @Alfredo: CMLL booking is so dumb. You have Tirantes reffing the segunda with Fuerza Aerea vs Tuereg. Why? He’s not there to be a rudo. He just works it as a straight ref or sometimes looks angry when the tecnicos win a fall. So which is it? Is he 100% independents or just 100% rudos?

Same nonsense when Garza is supposed to be the leader of the independents but is always teaming with the same CMLL wrestlers who feud with him when he teams with the independents! Ray Mendoza does the same thing. Negro Casas just did it this past weekend. Lost his hair to the invaders but then had no issue teaming with Taichi who is friends with the invaders. HUH?

Also if none of the invaders are actually working any non-CMLL shows – are they really invaders still?

  9. Contradictory story lines?
Welcome to the Lucha/Wrestling world of the new millenium. Titles no longer being treated with respect is another “evolution” in the sport.

SORRY Just had to get that short rant out.(It escapes every so often)

  10. CMLL just made my point. Tirantes was ref for Angel De Oro vs Euforia today. Why? If he’s proven he is a biased ref and he’s only around to help the invaders – why is he reffing this match? Shouldn’t the commision have kicked him out? Why would he even want to ref the match in the storyline?

  11. Man, if I was going to a show and they replaced Perro Jr with Blue Demon Jr that would be the first time ever I asked for a refund due to a no-show.
