5) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero DQ Charly Manson, Olímpico, Psicosis
6) Volador Jr.Místico [Copa Bicentenario]

The SportsNavi article says Ayumi will return in 2011. Cesar has the women’s as best of the night.

Virus is the king of the super minis, submitting Demus in 6:42

In between the Strong Man match and the lightning match, CMLL brought out Panico, Ringo Mendoza, Tony Salazer, Lizmark, el Halcon, Mocho Cota, Fishamn, Satanico, Sangre Chicana and Cien Caras as past heroes of the bicentennial. There was also a moment of applause for La Fiera.

Strong Man was dressed as Hulk Hogan.

Invasors/Peste Negra match seemed to set up a Negro Casas/Charly Manson hair match this week. That match keeps changing. DQ was for Psicosis hitting Rey Bucanero with the ringside stairs

After a long match, Volador won completely clean with a backcracker. Rudo or tecnico, Mistico still has not been able to beat Volador Jr. in Mexico City. Satanico and Ringo Mendoza gave Volador the trophy for winning, and Volador publicly thanked Satanico for training him.

@cmllmagazine had the building 85% full.

CMLL’s Twitter says they’re on at 3pm today.

DJ Spectro has video of Los Guerreros vs Los Infernales from 09/30/83.

The Gladiators have interviews with Charlie Haas & Miss Jackie (who plans on bringing Shelton Benjamin in; WON mentioned a 11/06 show with Haas/Benjamin/??? vs Konnan/Damian/Halloween in Tijuana) and Booker T (who says he’s gotten an offer to wrestle a lot more often in Mexico and plans on taking it, if he can fit in his schedule.)

Is there something up with Trauma II and IWRG? He hasn’t been there since June 20th (90 days), while his brother is a regular and his father is there a bit too.

Arkangel confirmed he’s working the Nosawa/Mil Mascaras show in Japan on Ras de Lona. Mocha Cota & Sangre Chicana were on talking about La Fiera (and the footage they used was him wrestling Ultimo Dragon in Japan?)

  1. Well Trauma II does tend to punch people in the face when he’s there, so that might have something to do with it.

  2. XEJ is working and CMLL TV is starting with the women. I hate it already for Princesa Blanca’s theme music.

  3. Women’s match was good early on but they took a commercial between the entrances/first fall and first fall/second fall which ruined the flow. Then the third fall was cut to shreds.

Semi-main and main still to come so Virus/Demus left for LATV. That’s dangerous knowing LATV’s track record.

  4. Momentos aired between first/second fall of semi-main. Highlights were Cometa’s dive to nowhere and Quemonito getting dropped on his head.

    Commercial HEAVY so far.

  5. No Strongman match. If LATV airs this show it’ll be the Virus/Demus match and Strongman show.

Another commercial between 2nd/3rd fall here. So either they’re loading up for an interrupted main event or the return to Saturday means Televisa has more commercial time to fill.

  6. Again they come back from commercial and clip right to the end of a third fall. This is not a good sign for future Saturday shows.

  7. No commercial this time… straight from Charly/Nego post-match challenges to Mistico promo to Mistico/Volador entrances.

  8. The news article on AAA’s website on Copa Antonio Pena that’s not actually working (unless you’re using the RSS feed):

    —-

Elegido, Laredo K id, Super Fly y Aerostar vs. Decnnis, Tigre Cota, Alan Stone y Chris Stone.

Considerando que se realizó el reto de apuestas en Pachuca, se ha acordado que, además de la Copa Antonio Peña, el ganador se llevará una máscara o cabellera a casa.

    —–

So, it’s a winners escape cibernetico? (And Elegido b Chris Stone, obviously)

The Cibernetico/La Parka tag match is now the cage match, a team of “AAA Originals” vs the legion. So probably, Ciber, Parka, Octagon, ?, ?? vs Hernandez, Zorro, Park, ?, ??

  9. oh no, 52MX just showed a clip of Olimpico vowing he would not lose his mask on 09/03 to set up him unmasking. That’s harsh.

  10. So weird to see Tirantes referee a women’s match of no significance.

Star Fire seems to have lost some significant weight. Dalis probably should eat something.

  11. A match with Estrella Magica and you’re saying Dayls should eat something?

Noti CMLL now w/ clips of the legends from last night. They also did PART ONE of the mystery luchador so there has to be another commercial left.

  12. Now there’s a new strategy… commercial during the third fall.

Not good. Will be even worse if they return after mystery luchador/lineups and just cut right to the finish like they did for the other matches.

  13. That was 100% the correct finish to do. Volador needed that win cleanly and the crowd reaction was incredible. Mistico did a stretcher job in the background of Volador’s celebration and it was a nice touch when Volador dedicated the trophy to Satanico and saluted him in the ring.

  14. BTW, they did everything but actually announce a date for Mistico and Volador’s mask match next year.

  15. Man that commercial break hurt the match. Still was pretty good though. I think they ran the mystery wrestler spot at least 2 times.

Does Ringo Mendoza ever age? He looks the same now that he did in the late 90’s.

  16. CMLL Teleformula is on and the expected matches. Got to stop taping the other LuchaMania slot so I can get AAA earlier.

  17. CMLL GDL starts with rudos vs rudos. The Truenos used a wacky tag team submission that made no sense but was the perfect picture for a lucha magazine.

  18. @Rob: No, they flipped that to semimain on the live show. Gallo’s match is the main event. Still don’t know that why.

  19. Horus’ Bermuda Triangle looks awesome. Still won’t make me edit his profile the way he wants.

Robin vs Brazo Metalico. Which is the best 3rd gen Brazo?

  20. Still have zero idea why that was the GDL main event. It was pretty much a Poder Mexica squash. Would they have actually waited if Palacio Negro was running late and then just subbed for him at the last minute? Doesn’t make sense.

  21. @Rob: Either that or Poder Mexica themselves were running late (though that doesn’t make any sense.) Poder Mexica are out of titles that Palacio Negro could’ve been supposed to be challenging for right now.

  22. Poor Tiffany. Her first match in CMLL and she has to face Goya Kong. I guess that’s a step up from having to face Hailey Hatred in ACM?

And poor Ayumi for almost getting injured twice in one week by Amapola’s botched leapfrog dropkick.

  23. Not to mention that horrible finish where Luna Magica disappeared into not-so-thin air and Mima Shimoda had no idea what to do since that was her partner for the finish.

  24. @Rob: Hello :) Crowd was truly awesome all the time Friday but for the Místico vs Volador Jr match, it was madness.
In my next visit (whenever that may happen) I just hope to be able to see Valiente!

  25. Lyger needs his own talk segment on CMLL TV. Another great promo tonight. I hope he’s in Mexico for the rest of the year.

  26. C3 main event was really good. Dorada is incredible.

@conjuarez: Sounds like you had a blast! We were wonder why you weren’t in the chat and I guess now we know why. *L*

  27. @Rob: I totally agree with you, Máscara Dorada is fantastic and I was fortunate enough to see him live last month.
I definitely had a ball. The whole trip was wonderful, I visited the National Art Museum, Zócalo and the Metropolitan Cathedral prior to going to the Arena.
While walking downtonw I could feel people were really hyped up but felt very safe. The crowd reaction was atuned to what Mexico City felt like and CMLL show really lived up to the expectation the audience had and at a lot of moments surpassed it.
