08/21-22 Lucha Times

box

AAA-US: 187/Tiger vs Legion, Electro/Silver vs Wagner/Park, and the start of the Militia.

52MX: Rush vs Loco Max. No spoilers!

LATV: Angels vs Tuareg and semimain of the anniversary show, hmmm. LATV is back on my cable system, and I’ll have last week’s episode with next week’s TV.

GDL: Masks vs hairs.

MW: PR Flyers vs Purpura/Magno, Malice/Rellik + an open challenge from RJ Brewer

——

CMLL: Sombra/Dorada/Mistico vs Lyger/Niebla/Volador, plus Strong Man returns and that same Invaders/Peste Negra match.

AAA-MEX: first part of Verano de Escandalo.

FOX: Atlantis/Garza/Bucanero vs Porky/Mistico/Rayo

C3: round 2 of the minis bicentennial cibernetico

Puebla: Mistico/Charly

ACM: top 2 from this past Sunday? That’d include the six way women’s match, which is probably something.

Perros: no clue

—-

CMLL-TFN: This is suddenly accurate! Caligula/Guerrero Maya (who’d figure Caligula would have the higher spot on the card a year later?), Poder Mexica vs Maximo/Mictlan/Rouge, and more of Yujiro/Warrior feud.

09/03 Arena Mexico Lineup (77th Anniversary Show)

CMLL (FRI) 09/03 Arena Mexico
1) Dark Angel, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei
2) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Stuka Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Pólvora, Skándalo
3) Blue Panther, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
4) Felino, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Charly Manson, Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila
5) Atlantis vs Jushin LygerÚltimo GuerreroAvernoMephistoMr. NieblaHisteriaPsicosisMísticoLa SombraEl AlebrijeVolador Jr.EphestoOlímpico [cage, mask]

Reforma has it first.

Possibly not a final lineup; still plenty of time to add a couple people to the cage match for even 16 (in binary, anyway.) Note that Mascara Dorada has a match, and Rayo de Jalisco Jr. does not.

There appears to be a Peste Negra vs Invaders feud going on, and may be in high gear by the time of this show, so the semimain has some purpose. It’s a usual CMLL big show card of one important match, one semimportant match, and other matches to get people on the card.

It does look like a pretty strong card. Every match has a chance of being in the win column.

Pierrothito, Mistico beats Lyger, Annivesary tickets

CMLL (TUE) 08/17 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, Cesar]
1) Horus & Tigre Blanco b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Diamante, Fabián el Gitano, Metro b Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
3) Pierrothito b Bam Bam, Pequeño Warrior, Último Dragoncito, Astral, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Halcón, Aereo [cibernetico, Torneo Bicentenario]
4) Averno, Mephisto, Vangelis b Blue Panther, Máximo, Toscano
5) La Máscara, Máscara Dorada, Shocker b Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Negro Casas

Dorada surprised Negro with a rollup to take the main event.

Rudos won the semimain clean.

Pierrothito moved out of the way of a guillotine leg drop and made Bam Bam give up to his usual submission. This is a big surprise; Pierrothito doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense in the main division, but it’ll be him and Demus in the finla next week. Ultimo Dragonicto & Pequeno Warrior eliminated each other.

CMLL (TUE) 08/17 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Javier Cruz Jr. b Titanio
2) Idolo & Metatrón b Drago & Metalik
3) Hierro & Magnum b Malefico & Rey Trueno
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Rotoporky, Sagrado b Ephesto, Felino, Terrible
5) Místico b Jushin Lyger

Lyger took the first with a brainbuster, Mistico took the second with a roll up, and the third with La Mistica.

CMLL announced the prices for the anniversary show. The prices they gave out on Twitter are not exactly the ticket prices listed on TicketMaster, but those include the handling fees. With those, the tickets run from 88 and 821 pesos ($7 to $65 US Dollars).

Electroshock says Heavy Metal is a guy living in the past, and Electro doesn’t need a guitar to beat him. Guess the feud isn’t over.

Silver King & Ultimo Gladiador say they will not let the AAA Tag Team titles fail in the hands of “nobodys” from Arena Naucalpan.

Mesias says he will not allow the Perros to destroy AAA, and is not scared of wrestlers who always have to cheat to win.

The Gladiatores has a bunch of backstage interviews from Verano de Escandalo.

Scott “Showtime” Sommers replaces Jerry Lynn on IWL’s show Thursday. I have no idea who that is, but google says he’s in a NWA allied promotion in Texas. They’ve also announced Adam Pearce will come in to face Colt Cabana.

Cronicas Y Leyendas posts video of Canek vs Gigante Warrior.

Angry Marks has a review of the fifth Lucha Libre USA show.

Segunda Caida has three more Black Terry reviews.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 08/23 Arena Puebla
1) Lestat & Metatrón vs Centauro de Fuego & Espiritu Maligno
2) Diamante, Molotov, Starman vs Disturbio, Durango Kid, Semental
3) Dalys la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Marcela vs La Seductora, Princesa Sujei, Yeska
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Averno, Mephisto, Volador Jr.

Sombra/Volador feud continues here, but they might also be setting up a trios title match.

CMLL (TUE) 08/24 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Nube Roja & Relampago vs Cerveruz & Templario
2) Astaroth & Black Metal vs Infierno & Titanio
3) Palacio Negro vs Ebola
4) Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata, Rush vs Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
5) Máximo & Rotoporky vs Atlantis & Mr. Niebla

That should be a serious grappling battling in the main event. Meanwhile, Teleformula will cut out fun looking tercera.

CMLL (TUE) 08/24 Arena Mexico
1) Astro Boy & Freesbe vs Apocalipsis & Apolo Estrada Jr.
2) Fuego, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo
3) Sagrado, Toscano, Valiente vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto
4) Demus 3:16 vs Pierrothito [bicentenario mini]
5) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Shocker vs Felino, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero

I think Demus is the easy favorite, but Pierrothito’s surprised once before.

If the mysterious Freesbe wrestles, it’ll be his first match here since May 18.
