IWRG (SUN) 08/15 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), DJ Spectro]
1) Dinamic Black b Alan Extreme
2) Imposible & Magia Negra b Eragon & Super Halcon Jr.
3) Brazo Metalico, Chico Che, Freelance b Avisman, Comando Negro, Oficial Marshal
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Aerostar, Gato Eveready, Súper Fly
5) El Brazo, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco, Nosawa b Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Scorpio Jr., Veneno

Video:
opener fall 1, fall 2, fall 3
segunda fall 1, fall 2, fall 3
title match fall 1, fall 2, fall 3

Guapito told both el Brazo and Scorpio Jr. off after the match. He doesn’t need either of them (they need him.)

Semimain – which wasn’t a title match this time around – was fast but good.

Avisman didn’t get along with his partners, and they lost in straight falls.

Eragon & Hijo del Halcon wore combined masks. Too bad they didn’t win.

CMLL (SUN) 08/15 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Divino b Metalik
2) Astaroth & Relampago Azul b Acertijo & Nube Roja
3) Ángel de Oro b Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Plata, Delta, Fuego, Ángel del Mal, Gallo, Leo, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro [cibernetico]
4) La Sombra, Shocker, Toscano b Jushin Liger, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

All the tecnicos beat all the rudos to end the main event, including Sombra pinning Liger.

Ciberentico came down to Metal Blanco and Angel de Oro (no elimination order.) Angel del Mal returned, turned on his fellow Guadalajara native, and Angel de Oro picked up the win.

Croncias Y Leyendas has Canek in the movies.

Kcids has Jushin Lyger, universal champion of rudoness.

Lineup

indy (SUN) 09/05 Auditorio Benito Juarez en Zapopan, Jalisco
1) Blue Demon Jr. & LA Park vs Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Hijo Del Santo

Not an AAA show, with Demon & Santo involved. Hard to believe Dr. Wagner is still under contract to AAA if he’s working the indy shows he wasn’t allowed to work according to his contract.

A big show at Arena Coliseo Guadalajara on 09/05 is a mortal lock.

Back this afternoon with the anniversary card.

  1. During AAA yesterday, they announced a bunch of DF area shows for tv. I think Pachuca(not DF, but close by car) and some auditorio in Edo de Mexico were listed.

  2. Those #’s basically validate what I’m saying… they mean nothing.

You’ve been following those #’s for almost a year now and you couldn’t even guess within 1.3 of what CMLL’s rating would be. I guarantee next week you’ll be more than 1 point off again.

The #’s are completely random and mean nothing b/c at no point have they ever shown any sort of pattern.

  3. @Rob: AAA has been very steady. CMLL has been all over the place. The WWE and AAA are much more predictable.

Why do you think CMLL’s ratings have been hard to predict?

  4. i think it is because CMLL puts no emphasis on tv – ratings aren’t important to them. Tickets being sold is. They just tape whatever matches they booked, and air it.
Since AAA tours, it is more serialized and thus more consistent ratings, because they only have to sell tickets every so often when they come to town.

  5. It’s nice to see Gato Eveready cared enough about his team mates to rush to the ring when they were attacked before the opening bell…

    Oh wait.

  6. No

    And what terrible camera work…
    Reply

No es facil grabar con tanta gente alredor, el publico que grita y pide que te muevas, mantenerse agachado, duelen las rodillas y estar corriendo tras la accion en cada momento no es nada facil

  7. @LUKIE: I suggest you just don’t watch the IWRG handhelds. Stick to their TV shows. Oh right… they don’t have any. So without BlackTerryJr – ***we wouldn’t be seeing any IWRG.***

The thing most people seem to overlook is that BTJr isn’t uploading this stuff for his health. He spends time filming the matches and uploading them so that everyone can get a chance to enjoy IWRG and 20 years from now there won’t be some guy saying “damn, I really wish someone was around to film that feud between the Terribles Cerebros and Gringos.” BTJr doesn’t go through all this hard work just so some smark who think his opinions are greater than everyone else can view it and immediatly run to his blog to write a 10 page diatribe about Avisman’s punches… without even bother to take the time to just write a simple “thank you”. It’s really quite amazing that some of the folks who claim IWRG is the best wrestling out there are the same folks who can’t take the time to say thanks. Only bitch bitch bitch about awful rookies, the one week of missing footage or the selection of which matches to record.

To put it in perspective… imagine Jeff Lynch back in the early 80’s getting rare UWA footage from a source in Japan and then sending it back saying “the quality is awful… and stop recording these crappy matches with undercarders nobody wants to see.”

We can only wish that multiple BlackTerryJr’s existed in every tiny arena around Mexico. (well… except Arena Coliseo de Monterrey currently…)

Oh and for what it’s worth – BTJr takes videos from ringside in HD. This is something even the two major promotions have yet to accomplish. I’d go as far as to say BTJr captures the IWRG action better than AAA’s staff of 20+ people who film their TV shows. Just watch the finish to Dynamic Black vs Alan Xtreme from Sunday and tell me that’s not the most perfectly filmed moment ever. HE KILLED THE MAN DEAD!

  8. You don’t think Jeff got that back in the day Rob? I’m sure he did. Just read those old Observers on the Observer site from like 92.

And I for one would like to see a handheld guy in ACM. Especially if they don’t air the Golden Boy match from this weekend. And the 5 star Canek Jr. matches.

  9. I had no idea it was from Black Terry Jr. or a hand held. I legitimately thought it was IWRG TV…

    <_<

    I don't watch much lucha.

  10. Black Terry Jr = a great man.

It is hard to film wrestling sometimes – especially after a few mins. It does take skill and patience. And the fact the footage is HD is fantastic, but also makes it more time consuming to do – all for free, for our benefit.

So, thank you Black Terry Jr, you rule!
