CMLL (SUN) 07/25 Arena Coliseo [@cmllmagazine]
1) Apolo Estrada Jr. & DisturbioPrincipe & Robin
2) Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño WarriorPequeño Olímpico, Saturno, Shockercito
3) Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, SkándaloFuego, Rush, Stuka Jr.
4) Charly Manson, El Alebrije, OlímpicoBlue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Sagrado
5) Místico, Shocker, Strong ManAverno, Jushin Liger, Mephisto

Mistico and Strong Man got Averno & Liger in the main event.

Charly beat Dorada clean with el Pozo. They seem to be going strong with Manson.

Loco Max beat Rush in two straight falls, though he might have had a little help. This can not possibly end well for Loco Max.

Cesar says the Monsther in CMLL is not the current one, but is actually the Frankenstein who was teaming with him in the indies (and presumably someone else in that family; a quick check shows Hombra Bala Jr. and Frankenstein in the opposite sides of the same match.) On last week’s match on 52MX, he didn’t seem to be moving like the new guy you’d expect the ex-Frankenstein to be, but it would explain why they had him do three straight sentons.

Kenzo Suzuki turned up in AJPW last night, as a member of their Voodoo Murders. Putting aside the historic importance of Kenzo & Rene Dupree teaming up again, I’m not really sure what, if anything, it means to Kenzo in AAA. He hasn’t gotten booked as much this year by AAA, so he could be just making it up by working in Japan as well. AJPW isn’t probably wowing anyone with paydays lately either; if he had that full time, he could still use AAA’s paycheck.

Both Cesar and Rob preview the first half of the CMLL Universal Tournament.

Croncias Y Leyendas has part 2 of Dinastia Grimaldo.

Segunda Caida reviews more Black Terry.

SuperLuchas #374 has Fabian unmasked, Mistico/Psicosis, and the Ultimo Dragon Lucha Libre Fesitval show.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Lineups

There’s a Thursday IWRG show, but no lineup.

CMLL (SUN) 08/01 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Apocalipsis & Mortiz
2) Fabián el Gitano, Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman vs Dr. X, Inquisidor, Nitro
3) Delta, Metro, Rush vs Cancerbero, Loco Max, Pólvora
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Toscano vs Felino, Negro Casas, Ray Mendoza Jr.
5) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Charly Manson, Mr. Águila, Olímpico

Avernos vs Invaders. Ray Mendoza is on fill in duty for Pesta Negra – where the heck is Niebla when you really need him?

Oh, Loco Max.

CMLL (SUN) 08/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Black Metal & El Divino vs Metalik & Titanio
2) Angelo & Magnum vs Acertijo & Ráfaga
3) Gallo & Neutrón vs Ebola & León Blanco
4) Máximo & Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr. & Sangre Azteca
5) Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Jushin Liger, Rey Bucanero

I have no idea what’s going on in the openers here. Very special Rayo appearance, the feud with Atlantis continues in Guadalajara.

IWRG (SUN) 08/01 Arena Naucalpan
1) Alan Extreme vs Super Halcon
2) Eragon & Jack vs Magia Negra & Nemesis
3) Nygma & Pasion Kristal vs Diva Salvaje & Miss Gaviota
4) Hijo del Cien Caras & Máscara Año 2000 Jr. vs Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG) & Hijo de Pirata Morgan [IWRG IC TAG]
5) El Brazo, Electroshock, Gato Eveready vs Chico Che, Scorpio Jr., Veneno

Not a single on of the four men in the title match are actually the sons of the other people. A grand slam.

Expo Day 2 & 3: IWRG, CMLL, Perros

4) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último GuerreroDragón Rojo Jr., Jushin Liger, Shigeo Okumura
5) Místico, Shocker, Strong ManHéctor Garza, Terrible, Texano

No angles on the show, just a spot show in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Mistica on Garza for the main event win.

Dragon Rojo replaced the (bizarrely) advertised Mr. Niebla, in what was said to be the best match of the show.

The big CMLL news of the show is they were charging 20 pesos for photo, where everyone else was taking them for free (and maybe CMLL might have supposed to as well.)

CMLL Fashion Show: Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores.

IWRG (SUN) 07/25 Centro Banamex [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)R de RudoEstrellas del Ring]

4) Silver KingMáscara Año 2000 Jr. [IWRG IC HEAVY]

Partial victory for IWRG! That’s enough a fine day for them. Oficial 911 beat Espiritu to win the Copa for his promotion. This match gave us such finishes as “Billy Boy eliminated by Mike Segura” and “Nicho beat by Veneno”.

Silver King is still IWRG champ, though it took help from Espiritu, Hijo de Tirantes, and and a foul to get the job done.

Gringos used a foul to win the segunda.

Dos de Tres has photos of the cibernetico, video of that match, and video of the title match.

PdM (SUN) 07/25 Centro Banamex [MTEstrellas del RingR de Rudo]
1) Heddi Karaoui, Pesadilla, Ragde b Drastik Boy, Konami, Naruto
2) Celestial & Cósmico b Mr. Aguilita & Talisman
3) Annie Social & Diva Salvaje b Medussa & Shelly Martinez
4) el Ángel, El Hijo de Rey Misterio, Hijo de LA Park b Bestia 666, Black Warrior, TJP
5) Damián 666 b Supreme and X-Fly [hardcore]
6) El Hijo Del Santo, LA Park, Marco Corleone DQ el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween, Hijo del Lizmark

Tecnicos were going to win the match, but then La Park decided he didn’t like how Santo accidentally hit him before, and ripped off his mask. So his side still wins by DQ. If this is the last Perros del Mal show, I’m so glad they went out how they lived, with a indecipherable disqualification finish. Way to be true to oneself. They teased Santo/Park, but Park’s in AAA and Santo’s sure not going there any time this century.

Semimain was the ultraviolent match DTU was prohibited from doing last year. Things can change. X-Fly was strechered out, and Damian pinned Supreme to win.

Other Stuff

Dorian Roldan continues to feud with El Hijo del Santo, patting himself on the back for being politecomplaining that Santo called him a  name, and dropped Santo’s real name, all during their TV taping. Over on his blog, Cesar wonders why Dorian is an imebcile, and my belief is it’s because he doesn’t have people around him correcting him when he goes astray – someone needs to be telling him to get off Twitter right now. Dorian is probably completely in the right in his argument with Santo, but he’s also embarrassing himself, and his company, and burning bridges he’ll need someday. A mid 20s kid with a lot of people who listen to him may not realize this, but I’m sure there are people around him who know better.

R de Rudo notes a talkative Ke Monito, body paint on Christina Von Eerie, and some of the other women at the shows.

Cesar rips matches on the El Pancracio show and Los Perros show, especially that women’s match.

SuperLuchas has one man’s experience of Day 1.

Espaldas Planas has photos of the second day.

Los Villanos sign autographs, talk about the hour plus matches they used to wrestle in El Toreo. MT also has “Lucha Libre, it’s for women too!” article, and one about a lucha artwork site called idolos.com.mx.
