AAA: Zapopan show, with a main event that needs a flow chart to explain all the run ins. The Perros del Mal debut, and there’s the token joshi appearance for the year. Hooray?

52MX: Women’s trios and Maximo/Mistico/Shocker vs Atlantis/Lyger/UG.

LATV: probably a rerun

CMLL-TF: who can say. I’m guessing rerun, actually.

Masked Warriors: almost forgot. Main should be Lizmark/Sadistko vs Charly Malice/Super Nova, which is probably good.

—-

CMLL: Mistico/Psicosis feud makes TV this time around, as does the winner of Infierno en el Ring.

AAA-MEX: Parka/Park, the rematch. Perros vs Wagner/187. Billy/Tiger vs Aero/Super.

CMLL FOX: the Infierno en el Ring cage match.

C3: Mascara/Mascara/Strong Man vs Renegades, plus Fabian unmasked.

Puebla: can’t tell if it’s going to air, TVC Deportes isn’t big on listing it’s shows for Mondays. Anniversary show if it does.

Perros: see above, except I have no idea what’s left.

ACM: on? not on? dunno.

CMLL-TFN: Texano/Shocker & Dragon/Dorada.

  1. Question: Has Televisa aired any Lyger matches from Arena Mexico Friday night?

I should have ratings tomorrow night, I hope.

  2. @LLL: Yes they have. 6/18 & 6/25. Since then the TV format switched and they’ve stopped showing the semi-main event from each Friday and it just so happens Lyger has always been booked in that slot. I don’t think CMLL is purposely not airing Lyger’s matches.

  3. As well as the two matches mentioned, this week’s CMLL-TFN also includes the following trios match

La Mascara, Volador & Mistico vs Negro Casas, Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis

FYI, this evening, I’ve been cataloguing another three months (12 weeks) of lucha that has arrived at the Spectrum offices. Very pleased that the whole Mistico heel turn is covered in full. In fact, that entire wacky tag tournament is covered in full, and shows #64 & #65 each feature SEVEN matches apiece – by far a record. That should bring us up to the end of March/start of April, I think.

  4. Oh yeah, and if I rightly remember, that Shocker vs Texano match is absolutely awful…

  5. @Stew: You remember correctly.:) I blame Shocker.

How was the editing on the 7 matches in one hour? The Mexico version had plenty of editing on the opening round stuff and the finals.

  6. @Rob: Yeah, I remember looking at Dave afterwards and just shaking my head. Shocker (who generally I don’t mind) was blown up quickly, and the whole thing was a chore. By far the worst singles match main we’d ever called.

I don’t honestly know about the editing. I was just whizzing through twelve digibeta tapes on the machine, stopping only to scribble down some names. The episodes in question flew very close to the 1hr mark (one of them had a runtime of 59 minutes) whereas some other shows had a runtime of approx 45 mins. The tourney matches appeared to be one fall, and until I start doing my prep for the recording sessions, I don’t know how long they originally lasted. Even still, I’m sure there will be some editing (there are entrances included for all) to get 7 matches in 60 mins.

Planning to record the commentary next week, so I’ll let you know then.

Apart from the tourney matches, we also have a singles match with Garza & Guerrero, three trios matches with the full-strength GDA. both Mistico vs Volador matches, the return of Naito, the debut of Taichi, Felino sin mascara and The Love Plague of Niebla & Maximo. I even saw Porky with a Super Sky Team balaclava, teaming with Volador & Sombra…

Oh, andbizarrely, even though Taichi debuts with Naito, by the most recent show in this batch, he’s teaming with Terrible/Texano… Hmmmm…
