CMLL (FRI) 04/23 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, Ovaciones (PDF), @cmllmagazine, Fuego en el Ring, Cesar]

Mistico wore a Mexico World Cup futbol jersey. He’s a tecnico. He got Dragon Rojo with La Mistica to win.

Delta & Volador, the favorites, move on to face Polvora/Garza next week on Kid’s Day. Hmmm. Matches were between 3 and 8 minutes for the tournament.

Bracito de Oro beat Warrior clean.

Team Perros del Mal defeated Team Delicoso in the first round of CHIKARA’s King of Trios. Cuije stole the match by being Cuije, not a big surprise. Oriental, Alebrije, and Cuije move on to face the BDK Trio of Claudio Castagnoli, Ares, and Tursas tonight in the quarters.

Fuego en el Ring talks about Latin Lover’s meeting about the name. So does Gladiadores. And Estrellas del Ring.

AAA announced Chris Daniels will start with the group in 04/30, so the TV lineup they just gave out is changing.

The story about Team Mexico not making the tournament got picked up by Luchas2000. In the comments, Gigolo Americano, who I believe originally brought Skayde to CHIKARA before his own fall out with the company, defends Skayde over in the comments of that post.

A video shows Super Brazo now has a shaved head, fulfilling the stip of a cage match from a week or so back.

Ultimo Dragon says DragonMania will be on 05/29.

Rob writes about 09/05 and 09/12/09 52MX, and some July 09 FSE.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

  1. Spam filter hated Tim today. Think I’ve fixed it.

Dark Unicorn is not Goddess, but the girl who took that awful suplex from Gronda a few weeks back.

  2. Sounds like one person at LATV is going by the show description sent by MVS, while the programming/trafficking department is doing something totally different.

MVS is very professional. I don’t like everything they do, but if they have a deal with LATV, I’m sure they will send the content in a timely fashion.

Many stations just don’t understand that wrestling is time-sensitive content. When I lived near Allentown, WFMZ aired WWF Challenge one week late for many weeks. Finally, I called the WWF. They returned my call and asked me to record next Saturday’s episode.

Eventually, WWF explained that the local programming director and trafficking deptartment at the station decided that it would be better to be one week behind, because it didn’t matter.

LATV has the same attitude it seems. Every third or fourth week, they air a repeat of RdL too.

  3. @LLL: Doug Scharfsberg. That was the guy’s name. He handled Philly, Allentown, Atlantic City, Scranton, and Harrisburg.

  4. I think it would be funny if Koslov had to do the translating for Hernandez in Mexico.

Also, kinda surprised that Heavy Metal got very little reaction upon his AAA return.
