Guadalajara, Negro/Liger, lineups

CMLL (SUN) 04/04 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Johnny Dinamo b Meteoro
2) Mr. Trueno & Samurai b León Blanco & Virgo [Relevos Increíbles]
3) Metal Blanco b Ángel del Mal [OCCIDENTE WELTER]
4) Stuka Jr. & Valiente b Cancerbero & Raziel
5) Héctor Garza, La Máscara, La Sombra DQ Terrible, Texano, Vangelis

Texano faked a foul in the second fall, and Sombra countered by tossing his mask to Texano in the third fall for the win.

Cancerbero was strechered out after taking a Valiente dive at the end of the match.

Metal Blanco won falls 2/3 to win the championship.

No results yet, but Black Terry Jr. has photos from Sunday’s IWRG show, and Al Filo del Ring has backstage interviews.

NJPW announced a three more CMLL related newsbits today

  • Negro Casas will defend the CMLL Middleweight Championship against Jushin Liger in Japan on 05/03. This is the 20th anniversary match referred to earlier. Since Negro also has the Welterweight title (and also 2 other titles), losing one to Liger wouldn’t really hurt him. On the other hand, it’d be nice for a CMLL wrestler to get a win in NJPW sometime in 2010.  Edit: Missed it, but Negro’s actually on the entire NJPW tour, from 04/17 on to this 05/03 show. He’s basically working tags and trios opposite Liger every night.
  • Tanahashi is heading to CMLL in May. NJPW is running only five shows in May, so there’s plenty of room for him to hang out in CMLL without missing much.
  • With help from NJPW, CMLL’s four biggest events (Dos Leyendas, Infierno en el Ring, Anniversary, Sin Salida) will air on Samurai TV. Dos Leyendas is already on the schedule, as noted previously, airing before it’ll air in Mexico. This is the first confirmation that Infierno en el Ring is actually happening this year and Samurai TV says it’s happening in June. That’s usually the cage match show, and if they’re running a big cage match in a couple months, a midcard cage match for the end of April seems unlikely.

Cassandro’s facebook says he’ll be out 6-8 weeks following surgery.

R de Rudo notes a CMLL/indy lineup for Tuesday, which lists Okumura as teaming with Naito (and not Taichi.) Think it’s a typo; they also have the IWRG trio as “Oficial I, Oficial II, Oficial III”, which isn’t exactly right.

Hidalgo Sport talks to Arena Aficion wrestler Exotico, who’s been feuding wiht Felino there. Exotico has challenged Felino to a singles match, where if Exotico loses, he has to vacate the Hidalgo welterweight title, and if Felino loses, Exotico gets a Arena Mexico match.t Felino has not accepted that match – why would he?

Rob writes about this weekend’s LATV & 52MX, November 23 Puebla, and this week’s lineups.

Box Y Luchas #2968 teases Wagner vs Electroshock for TripleMania. That’ll be great if they want the tecnico booed for the second straight year. On the website, they have a video interview with Big Mama and Super Loco.

5 thoughts to “Guadalajara, Negro/Liger, lineups”

  1. I truly thought Mistico, before he became a bad ass one minute then confused the next, won the IWGP Jr Title this year in Japan?

Poder Norte is not beating the Clowns, and honestly I thought the Psycho Circus was now tecnicos?

I thought Marco was going back to AAA

  2. Keep in mind, WWE runs Mexico City on 5/7 so CMLL will have a big show that night.

How many fans did WON say for AAA in Queretaro?

  3. Perros ran Skayde/Estrellita vs Cerebro Negro/Medusa and Charlie vs Xfly tonight. Pretty sure they advertised next week as Blue Demon Jr/Hijo del Santo/Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs the Perros, but the only show I can find that ran that main event was the SLP show on March 17 and that card definitely didn’t look like a TV taping. Maybe they taped the top 2? Or maybe I’m missing something obvious?

  4. @Alan: That’s got to be it; there’s nothing else that fits. Maybe they’re just taping some spot shows just to fill out enough weeks?

This would explain why everyone thought the MTY Lucha Libre Fan Fest was going to air on TVC Deportes – maybe Perro Jr. vs Konnan Big is, as part of Perros del Mal Rebellion?

  5. I don’t know why, but my comment notifications aren’t working right lately. If I’m missing a follow up, I’m sorry about that.

@KDB_31: Mistico did win the title, but he’s Mistico. Everyone else has lost pretty much lost, so they’ve so far established Mistico as a big deal but not so much CMLL.

Negro Casas winning isn’t going to help that – like Mistico, he’s bigger than the promotion name in Mexico – but it’d be nice for someone to get a win.

    @LLL: WON said 8,000.
