6) Fantasma de la Ópera b Cerebro Negro [hair]

It’d been a whole year since Cerebro Negro lost his hair. Must’ve been feeling itchy.

PdM (SAT) 04/03 Plaza de Toros de la Feria Ciudad Valles, SLP [PdM (Tumbler)]
1) Estrellita & Mascarita DoradaMedussa & Mr. Aguilita
2) Nova & OrientalCelestial & Histeria II
3) C. MansonX-Fly
4) Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, HalloweenGroon XXX, Hijo de LA Park, Hijo del Lizmark

Perro pulled Park’s masked and pinned him for the win. The other guys made mask/hair mask challenges, since they’re all in that cage match.

Recap says Charly gets a shot at X-Fly’s title or hair with a win; which he got cleanly. Since the hair match is already announced, I think I may have a guess.

Celestial replaced Cerebro Negro and worked as a rudo.

Mascarita Dorada was quite literal when he told Ras de Lona that he’d in CMLL today and who knows tomorrow. He’s apparently planning to work out his agreed upon independent dates (including the Perros ones), and this week’s SuperLuchas says he’s still negotiating with CMLL about his control of his outside bookings and getting better places on the card for minis wrestlers. The Gladiatores have their own interview with the mini.

5) Blue Panther, Brazo de Plata, ShockerNegro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero
6) MísticoAtlantis

As long as we’re getting live results from @cmllmagazine, I guess I should post these on Sundays. In the main, Mistico pulled Atlantis’ mask and got away with it for the pin. Atlantis demanded a super libre rematch, and Mistico agreed – as long as it was mask vs mask. Yea, no.

In the tercera, the tecnicos took the match in straight falls with Polvora unmasking Fabian in the second for the DQ. Mask challenges followed. Rob guessed this is leading to a cage match – there’s a lot of these sudden and underneath mask feuds popping up – and we are expecting some sort of special main event for the Arena Mexico Anniversary at the end of the month.

(via Strong Style Spirit) NJPW announced the participants and matches up for it’s 05/08 Super J Tag Tournament. The CMLL representative are Mascara Dorada & Valiente, and I could not be more thrilled. They definitely deserve the shot, and are likely to put on a great show. Their bigger problem is facing the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champs in their first round match (Taguchi & Prince Devitt), and it seems highly doubtful that the champs would lose in the first round of a tournament for their division, and definitely not to a outside/occasional team. My guess is Dorada & Valiente are one and done, but as long as they get to be awesome for 8 minutes, I don’t really mind them losing. (My other guess is Davey & Tiger winning the whole thing over Apollo 55 to establish Davey as a strong contender for the singles Super J and cause a million angry message board posts.)

Reports from Saturday’s ROH Charlotte show say Cassandro broke his tibia. Obviously, he’s going to be out a while and miss the CHIKARA King of Trios. Hope his recovery goes great.

Ovaciones says a British reality show was taping this week with Shocker. I presume this is the show mentioned on Ras de Lona a couple weeks ago. Reality/travel shows doing a bit with lucha libre is nothing new, but between this, Dhani Jones, and the other English show with Princesa Sujei, there’s a lot of them lately.

Cesar has his take on this week’s lineups. DJ Spectro looks at a card with Ring Fujinami vs Canek and Tiger Mask I vs Fishman and notes the upcoming Solitario anniversary.

SuperLuchas #358 has WrestleMania 26. Inside, there’s good interviews with Apolo Dantes and Black Terry. Terry says Cerebro Negro’s status with IWRG is uncertain – he no showed, and never gave an explanation. Also, he’s teaching two classes for IWRG; a noon class for kids who just want to be in shape, and a four o’clock class for early match guys.

Luchas2000 515 has WrestleMania 26, Mascarita Dorada and LA Park.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

  1. You’ve managed to offend both Mascarita Dorada and Mascara Dorada with this post. I’ll let you figure out how.

  2. Figures Cassandro would miss his CHIKARA debut because he broke his leg working an ROH show. Oh well, there’s always Blue Demon Jr.
