LA Park to make his AAA in-ring return on 04/17…maybe

Besides the one taping covered below, AAA also announced they’d be taping on 04/17 in Orizaba. No lineup, but

EN ESTE EVENTO VEREMOS A L.A. PARK LUCHAR

(Hey, he’s Original La Parka! And he has a pool!)

The small problem with LA Park making his in-ring debut on this show: just two days ago, Valiente Entertainment announced he’d be working for them in Austin, Texas that night. That’s a tough double shot, 800 miles apart. The best part of the LA Park press conference I forgot to mention was Park saying, at Rey de Reyes, he had his son waiting in a getaway car to get him out of town quick. Hijo de La Park is going to need a getaway jet plane for this one.

I figured Park’s indy bookings would conflict with AAA at some point, but didn’t think it would happen on the first show he was scheduled to wrestle.

2010 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#932)
Mexico: 04/11
US: 04/17

They should be able to get this to air in five days, but this is about as long as they can wait to run another taping. Five matches means these all should air.

Electro is no longer friends with his teammates, so he teams with them here. Theoretically, this is a Chessman vs Electroshock TripleMania preview, but not at all in reality. Reality seems much more like they’re just killing time before running their TripleMania angles.

Hermandad also are not so happy with Konnan, so they team with him here. That match does not seem promising for Konnan.

I wonder if the Dark Family will destroy Jack Evans again. I wonder if I’m still supposed to be remembering that.

Genuinely excited for Alex/Rain vs Fabi/Aero. Alex vs the Apaches was much better than I had figured. If the Legion has to win all the the titles, they might as well take care of both sets of tag belts before moving on. We just need to figure out which random US indy guy shows up to win the Cruiserweight title (WON says they’re high on Flip Kendrick but haven’t offered him a deal), maybe have Von Eerie steal the Reina de Reinas title from Sexi Star, and then build that all to Chessman versus whomever for the Mega title at Verano de Escandalo or the Pena show.

Laredo Kid, the new star of the openers! Don’t care, match will be good, better than a lip service push.

LA Park has a pool, Seductora, Mephisto, Phoenix

CMLL (TUE) 03/23 Arena Aficion [Estrellas del Ring, Hidalgo Sport]
3) Guerrero Maya Jr. & Neutrón b Ángel de Plata & Horus
4) Felino, Puma King, Tiger Kid b Fabio, Harlem, Sangre Azteca

Cats 1, France 0.

My favorite interview of the day is a telephone interview with LA Park about his feud with AAA Parka. Highlights include

  • he wants to be known as Original La Parka, because that’s the truth
  • he’s not coming to AAA for money, he’s got money.
  • “he’s owns a large ranch with a pool, unlike most people.”
  • La Parka Jr. should’ve never won those Televisa Deportes awards, because he didn’t accomplish as much. Park has accomplished a lot
  • LA Park might be piggy fat, but he can lose weight. La Parka Jr. can’t fix his broken arm.

LA Park is a fantastic man. “I HAVE A POOL” needs to be the catchphrase of 2010.

Ovaciones’ mention of La Seductora being a future star of CMLL doesn’t seem as much a random chance today: ESTO, and Notimex all have quotes with her from an interview. It’s mostly a career bio (from Chilachapa, started wrestling 18 years ago, retired shortly after to raise her kids, returned 10 years ago), but Seductora also says the new tecnicas are not very good, so she’d like to have a mask match with one of them for the easy win. This would be very interesting if she was actually feuding with someone. She’s been matched up with Star Fire most often in her 4 CMLL matches this year.

(Record‘s version of the article includes a picture of Dallys, so maybe they need to work on the PR campaign a little more.)

Fuego en el Ring has a short profile of Goya Kong, who actually beat her previously introduced sister (Muneca de Plata) to her first official CMLL match. Sounds like she expects to be on the rudo side eventually.

Fuego also notes Texano’s match on Tuesday was his return following his suspension there. Texano says he doesn’t feel like he’s really back until he’s teaming with Terrible there.

Ovaciones has an interview with Mephisto, who wants to get a mask from Sombra & Volador, and win the CMLL Welterweight or CMLL Middleweight titles (both held by Negro Casas.) Mephisto again says he’s not giving up his NWA Welterweight title unless someone beats him in the ring for it.

As part of the typical run of local newspaper wrestling articles leading up to a WrestleMania, the Phoenix New Times has a big feature length article about the local lucha libre scene. There are about 3 different lucha promotions in the area, of the 7 local groups.

Rob has random thoughts about indies and this Friday’s show.

Cronicas Y Leyendas has articles on Anibal losing his mask, Gori Guerrero showing off his invention, and Espanto Jr. vs Hijo del Santo.

Alfredo posted the Dhani Jones vs Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. match.

Don’t think Marco is working that show.

03/27-28 Lucha Times

box

AAA: last show before Rey de Reyes, with Parka/Zorro and Mesias/Marco/Octagon vs WagnerManiacos.

52MX: Cats/Horse vs Astro/Maya/Rivera, and Fantamsa/Toscano/Valiente vs Euforia/Skandalo/Vangelis

LATV: This will be interesting; will they air the regularlly scheduled 2/3? That’s the Dos Leyendas show, which hasn’t otherwise aired. Not sure what else they’d show, and it’s not like they’ll be airing those matches on Galavision whenever they air the rest of the shows.

IWRG: It’d be Mascara Anos Father & Son/911 vs Bobby Lee Jr/Roca/Suicida and the big Cerebro/Diablo match, but they’ve been airing repeats every other week and this is that week.

——

CMLL: Lighting match is four, so it’ll air on the main show. Otherwise, it’s Felino wrestling unmasked on the Friday show for the main time.

AAA-MEX: Rey de Reyes was the only thing unaired last week, so it airs complete here. Those matches didn’t go that long, so surely some repeats from last week.

CMLL-FOX: Mistico annoys people, and one other match.

C3: Mistico annoys people, and three other matches

Puebla: Mistico annoys Voaldor in particular.

ACM: One more Cibernetico/Circus vs Legion atomicos, in case you have a desperate need to see that again.

PDM: Histeria/Pesdailla/Ragde vs Celestial/Angel/Nova for sure, maybe the Aguilita/Talisman vs Dinastia/Drastik Boy as the other?

CMLL-TFN: 03/06/09 taping, if I’ve got this right.
