03/14 Perros del Mal TV Lineup (Tlanepantla)

PdM (SUN) 03/14 Centro de Convenciones de Tlanepantla
1) Mr. Aguilita vs Drastik, Dinastía
2) Estrellita & Skayde vs Medussa & Veneno
3) Konami & Turbo vs Black Fire & Black Thunder
4) Celestial, el Ángel, Súper Nova vs Histeria II, Pesadilla, Ragde
5) C. Manson vs X-Fly [bull terrier]
6) Groon XXX, Hijo de LA Park, Hijo del Lizmark, Oriental vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween, Mr. Águila

Lineup: Perros del Mal & Fuego en el Ring (the one with the full lineup)

Sooner than May!

Main event is the debut of Black Spirit under the Hijo de LA Park name, and it’s kind of surprising LA Park isn’t there with him. Maybe they’re saving it.

Technically, the semimain is an Extreme bull terrier match. So you know.

Second match is notable for the women. Estrellita was listed as working on AAA spot shows as late as two weeks ago, and I guess she could still change her mind (again). Medussa was last seen losing her hair in Guadalajara one year ago, then become a new mom over the summer.

As much as there was talk about bringing in Todos x el Todos guys on these shows after Santo worked the main event, that never has seemed to happen. There was no announcement about an alliance with Super Crazy’s promotion in Tulancingo, but his guys have been turning up a lot in the bottom half of the card. (They’re a lot cheaper, surely.)

Looking at the taping schedule:

03/01-03/15: Ecatepc 02/20 taping
03/22-04/06: this show
04/13-04/27: unknown taping in early April
05/04-05/18: Tijuana 05/01 taping

Can TVC Deportes and Perros del Mal turn around a taping in 3 days, especially one that far from Mexico City? They’re probably going to need to squeeze out an extra week from the three tapings before it.

02/27-28 Lucha Times

box

AAA-US: WagnerManiacos vs Mesias/Parka/Latin, Dark Family vs Vipers 2.0

52MX: Fabian/Leono/Maya vs Dr. X/Hooligan/Nitro, and Panther/Toscano/Valietne vs Euforia/Nosferatu/Vangelis

IWRG-TF: ?????

CMLL: Mistico & the Peste Negra, on the same side for the first time.

AAA: WagnerManiacos vs Parka/Marco/Pimpi, Mesias/Latin vs Chessman/Zorro

CMLL-FOX: Tuareg vs Air Force/Azteca, set up for Shocker/UG. On at 1:30 pm this week.

C3: top 4 includes…really, nothing much of interest.

Puebla: Set up for StrongMan/UG and the only CMLL minis match to make air this week. 4pm this week.

ACM: Possibly more Misterioso to annoy the other Misterioso? Diluvio Negros and Orienatles involved, so it is Monterrey

PdM: first show of the new taping, maybe starting out with 1/4, including Histeria/Pesadilla/Ragde vs Celestial/Lizmark/Oriental match?

CMLL-tFN: Super Sky Team vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, and Heavy Metal (who’s been MIA for two months in real time, and it seems a lot longer.)

Perros del Mal on TVCDeportes #6 (02/08/2010)

(Assuming I’ve got the date right. I’ve got crossed up 3 times already.)

taped Sala de Arams Magdalena Mixhuca, 01/31/2010. All video links via LuchaLibreDeMexico, who would really like you to purchase a DVD.

Turbo vs Black Thunder: – part 1 part 2 part 3 – had some fun moves, also had Black Thunder completing a marathon in his wanderings around the ring in between moves. It was pretty good but not five stars.

Charly Manson vs X-Fly in a super libre match – part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 – Remember when Charly left AAA, and was saying stuff like AAA made him do all the hardcore matches and he really just want to get back to ras de lona mat wrestling? This did not appear to be true in this match (though I guess we’ll see with the title match.) If you like stupid violence, this match was good for you. This match was thought provoking: considering this match involved broken glass, thumb tacks and a cheese grater, shouldn’t DTU be able to do same thing on their shows at the Lucha Libre Expo. I don’t want DTU or these guys do it (and maybe it’s a rule of the building rather than the commission), but it seems an odd double standard.

05/01 Perros del Mal TV Lineup (Tijuana)

Perros (SAT) 05/01 Plaza de Toros La Monumental Tijuana
1) Oriental vs Damián 666, Histeria II, Hijo del Lizmark, El Alebrije, Halloween, Groon XXX, Mr. Águila [cage, mask, hair]
2) X-Fly vs C. Manson [hair]
3) El Hijo Del Santo & LA Park vs Blue Demon Jr. & el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

Putting a lineup out for May kinda hints it might be a slow couple months in storyline progression.

From the Perros del Mal facebook. This is a bit overloaded, but it is a 21,000 person bullring. If they draw well here, maybe they come back to Tijuana for the big match involving the top 4 guys (if such a match were to actually occur.)

Charly really needs to start wearing a shirt with a shiny “C” on it instead of the mysterious “R”.

Normally, I would presume the unmasked guys (or someone not listed in the match) are the people who are going to lose their hair in that cage match. Howver, if there’s going to be a big payoff (giant if) and they have to spend the rest of your days fighting for the right to use their current gimmick anyway, wouldn’t a Alebrije or Histeria consider cashing in their masks right here? Oriental owns his name and Groon could not make it thru life without being Groon. And I guess maybe Alebrije can still do that bit forever. But Histeria?

Perros are either running more shows or (more likely) doing a better job of informing people of the shows they’re running. They’ve also posted lineups for the SLP and Monterrey shows, neither of which appears to be a TV taping. At least for now…

Mexico, GDL, Panama

CMLL (TUE) 02/23 Arena Mexico [Fuego en el Ring, CMLL]
1) Apocalipsis & Camorra b Principe & Robin
2) Dr. X, Hooligan, Nitro b Horus, Metálico, Starman
3) Amapola, Princesa Sujei, Zeuxis b Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela
4) Blue Panther, Metro, Rush DQ Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
5) Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Strong Man b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Tecnicos won the semimain in straight falls, second fall was a DQ for a foul.

CMLL (TUE) 02/23 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Divino b Meteoro
2) Acertijo & Ebola b Nube Roja & Saturno
3) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Ángel del Mal & Ráfaga
4) Stuka Jr. & Valiente b Dragon Rojo Jr. & Misterioso II
5) Felino, Máximo, Mr. Niebla b Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra, Sagrado

Felino snuck in a foul on Sombra for the deciding fall. Recap notes Poder Mexica is on a losing streak here. In an interview with SuperLuchas, Maximo is evasive about joining the rudos.

Cesar notes the 03/19 AAA lineup is a bit lax because many AAA wrestlers were already supposed to go to Panama that weekend for RXW. Mesias, Marco, Jack, Nicho and Konnan are mentioned as going.

Mini Black Warrior wants, in order: 1) Bracito de Oro’s mask, 2) Bam Bam’s title and hair, 3) Pierrothito’s title, and 4) Mascarita’s mask in honor of the bicentennial. That’s a man with goals.

Over on El Martiente, Clark_El posted the Olimpico interview from Box Y Lucha. He’s very critical of Perros del Mal, bitter over the same guys being on top, and apologetic towards CMLL for ever leaving. Olimpico says people in the company have talked with both AAA & CMLL and tosses off a mention of an attempt of a Perros del Mal/AAA alliance (???). Olimpico clearly wants to be back in CMLL, but he’s in the spot as Zumbido. They need CMLL far more than CMLL needs them.

ROH announced more lucha names for their shows over the next few months: Alex Koslov and Rocky Romero return to face of on their 03/26 in Phoenix, and Solar has been added to their 04/03 show in Charlotte. That’s five lucha wrestlers for Charlotte, so they need one more, and there’s the obvious Solar opponent.

Today’s Ovaciones doesn’t have new news, but it does have Alex Koslov attacking someone with a chair in a computer lab.

AAA runs down the Rey de Reyes announcements from this week’s TV show, mentioned “Copa 187” is a contenders tournament for the tag team titles. Also, May Flowers is happy to be back on TV, and since Zorro said the numbers 12 and 21 are important, they look into meanings of the 12.

AAA action figures were shown off at last week’s New York Toy Fair, but the line is “currently on hold.” There are pictures of the Parka & Wagner figures at the link, if you haven’t seen them.

El Pancracio has one two stories about a lucha libre expo a couple weeks ago, plus interviews with Lobo Vikingo and Celestial.

SuperLuchas confirms LA Park will face Sabu on March 20th.

ESTO writes about The Voice of Santo, the many voice actors who supplied his voice for the movies.

Cronicas Y Leyendas looks back at Scorpio Jr. vs Black Scorpio.

DJ Spectro has a photo of Villano III before he was Villano III.

There’s a screen of Super Amigos in Toronto tonight.

411Mania reviews the 12/19/09 Perros del Mal show.

Luchas 2000 #509 has Volador Jr. & Negro Casas with their new belts, and Dr. Wagner Jr. teasing a punch to Electroshock’s mask (which is awesome. Also, have we ever seen Dr. Wagner and Dr. Doom in the same place at the same time?)

This month’s Dos de Tres includes a clever meeting of Psycho Circus and Los Payasos (theoretically the original Los Payasos, but given it’s Los Payasos, it’s probably not the originals.)

Lineup

CMLL (MON) 03/01 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano, Blue Center, Milenium vs Akron, Karisma, Mr. Rafaga
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Estrella Mágica, Lady Apache vs Princesa Blanca, Yezca, Zeuxis
3) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito vs Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
4) Blue Panther, Toscano, Volador Jr. vs Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi
5) Strong Man vs Último Guerrero

Strong Man/UG this week, Bam Bam/Violencia next? It’s odd Naito is off Sunday’s show if he’s still around to work on Monday.

AAA on Televisa #925 (02/13/2010)

taped @ Centro Civico de Ecatepec, 01/17/2010

Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M37MSWOB

Cuervo, Escoria, Espíritu, Ozz vs Amnesia, Black Abyss, Histeria, Psicosis III: and in match #2, the Vipers win by DQ when the Dark Family use a loaded glove. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the idea of Escoria’s loaded gloves. It’s a perfect bit for AAA, and I hope they start racking up many wins with them, but maybe AAA would’ve been served better in getting them a few wins before launching into a feud for them. (Assuming this is meant to be a feud and not just a random happening.)

Extreme Tiger & Jack Evans vs Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario: PASS.

Crazy Boy, La Parka Jr., Laredo Kid vs Electroshock, Silver King, Último Gladiador: 14 minute match that felt like it needed to be 7. I think CMLL has broken me here, because I always expect the big comeback to be followed by a finish (which works there since they have 3 falls), but AAA comebacks often lead to tecnicos getting 2 minute showcases each and nothing’s really counting until momentum changes again. Or maybe CMLL is just right and AAA is wrong! (This site is still cmllblog.com, right?)

Cibernético, Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Chessman, Kenzo Suzuki, Konnan, Zorro: this was better timed, even if it there wasn’t actually that great. They tried hard to get the idea over that the Psycho Circus had been pushed harder than ever before, but it kind still is Konnan running from a tecnico while his henchman do the work.
