Todos x El Todos, CMLL/IWRG, Lineups

There’s one two different sets of photos already on line from today’s Todos x el Todos show in Brussels, plus one news story. Hijo del Santo’s twitter says they sold out the building. Looks like someone was wrestling as mini Santo, which hasn’t been done before.

Black Terry Jr. has photos of a show at Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca with IWRG vs CMLL matches. With this building and no promotion in the usual internet venue, this had to be an Ultimo Dragon-related bit. Videos include Traumas vs Rey & UG, which seems too good to have actually occurred. Actually, the big news here is Hijo del Fantasma, because the finishing powerbomb from Friday’s lighting match looks like a botched move ending with Fantasma dropping on his head.

Tinieblas plans for retirement include a book, multiple TV shows, and an animated movie. Not much of a retirement.

Cesar previews this week’s CMLL lineups, including Sunday, as well as AAA’s Rey de Reyes and the 05/01 Perros Tijuana show. Actually, the last two are more of a take down, but you know this.

Box Y Lucha has an interview with Gran Petronio.

DJ Spectro has a note on the passing of wrestler Mr. Cobra, who wrestled in the 70s and the 80s.

Segunda Caida watches 01/28/10 IWRG, then goes back to the archives to for 09/02/04 IWRG.

Ohtani’s Jacket talks about the captains hair match from 02/25 IWRG, and where it’s headed.

Cronicas Y Leyendas looks back at Scorpio vs Scorpio part 2, the dream team of Mil Mascaras, Dos Caras and Canek facing the Hawaiians (by way of Samoa)

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

  1. Hopefully more details come out about the Sala de Armas show. It looks entertaining, and a little baffling based on the photos. There must have been some sort of tag tournament or something? Even more baffling, I still don’t understand how a show like this can happen without anyone knowing about it in advance.

Cubs, at least you get Puma King and Tiger Kid on 52MX. Not that I expect them to be able to do much with the two stiffs they are working with, but the still might be entertaining.

  2. @Alan: Alan. Do you notice a lot of 52mx Dish receivers around Mexico City? They are the bright red receivers.

  3. Went to the Sunday afternoon Brussels show, the last two matches were slightly different to advertised, with Magno and Cassandro joining the main event tag, and Hurrican Ramirez and Angel Blanco working a singles title match. Mini Santo was Masacarita Dorada, or at least he was introduced as such. Black Terry was there, but only as the referee.

  4. there was a show called “Dia De Los Perros”, basically a mexican version of ‘Punked”. Santo jr. was the “subject”. one of the segments had him arriving to a show to wrestle blue panther in the main. at one point in the ring there is a mini-santo wrestling a mini-blue panther. santo comes into the ring and manhandles mini-santo and rips the mask right off his head. at the end of the episode Dr. morales is revealed to be behind all the pranks for the episode, which is on youtube.

  5. Anyone know what time the IWRG shows start on Sundays? I have a friend coming into town who knows nothing about lucha libre, so I’m making her choose between CMLL and IWRG based solely on looking at the cards, and trying to figure out how much of the day will be eaten up with either option.

  6. @thecubsfan: Thanks cubs. It sounds like we are headed to Coliseo instead. Even the uninformed can’t be convinced that Alan Extreme is going to be more exciting than Pequenos Reyes Del Aire.
