Volador vs Mistico for 2Leyendas, Super Calo promo, lineup?

CMLL (FRI) 02/19 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones (PDF), SuperLuchas, Cesar, Notimex]
1) Delta & Diamante b Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito b Bracito de Oro, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura b Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata, Sagrado
4) La Sombra DQ Felino [lightning]
5) Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Taichi b Máximo, Mr. Niebla, Strong Man
6) Héctor Garza, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. DQ La Máscara, Místico, Negro Casas

Pequeno Warrior fouled and pinned Bracito de Oro, then challenges him to a mask match. That might be a semimain really soon. Just to be thorough, CMLL.com reports Warrior did another promo backstage, also challenging Bam Bam (CMLL Minis), Pierroth (Mex Light) and Mascarita Dorada (mask). He should go ahead and challenge Octagoncito again while he’s at it.

Sombra/Felino was the best match of the night. Puma King (maybe the fake Felino from a couple Tuesday ago?) came to the ramp, which distracted the referee. Sombra alertly pulled Felino’s mask and cradled him, so Puma King ran in and broke it up for the DQ.

Taichi’s team won in straight falls in a comedy match. Taichi has a blog!

Negro Casas came to the ring with a trash bag – that had his belts in it. Mistico still had the light heavyweight title. Volador walked towards Mistico during his entrance, which was just a distraction to set up Sombra sneaking up from behind, grabbing the belt back. That didn’t last long – Felino attacked Sombra, taking his mas and Mistico got the belt back.

Garza got Mascara and UG beat Negro Casas for the first fall. Negro beat Garza and Mascara put UG in the campana for the second fall. Mistico was dominated Volador in the corner, Babe Richard told Mistico to let Volador out and Mistico shoved him down. DQ. Match was quick, the first two falls lasting under 2 minutes, and the match was under 9 minutes.

Commissioner Scorpio stole the light heavyweight belt and gave it to Volador, while Mistico proclaimed he didn’t care about that title, or Rey del Aire, or the boos from the fans, only making Volador looking bad and taking his mask. Volador accepted! (And then they fought again.) Mistico vs Volador Jr. appears set for Dos Leyendas.

Black Terry Jr. has pictures of what appears to be Super Calo’s promotion! I just had someone ask me about his group this week, and I didn’t thing there had been any mention of it since last year’s Lucha Libre Expo show. Looks like he’s been working hard on a nice set up. Website is at http://www.revolutionfs.com.mx/ but does not have a lot of info. More details at Box Y Lucha, and videos at his YouTube.

Psycho Circus say their win total is 553.

AAA posted lineups for the Torreon and Monterrey lineups. The posters included Black Warrior and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., but those names are left off AAA’s listings. Black Warrior’s spot is occasionally listed as suprise luchador, so he’s probably working this show in Veracruz.

Multiple Joe Lider interviews: AAA talks with the Hermandad (who don’t consider themselves part of the Legion, so were upset when Konnan mentioned the Legion would have all the titles), and Record talks to Joe Lider about his career. A very predictable but amusing quote:

One day surfing the Internet I found a company called CZW (Combat Zone Wrestling), they practiced the fighting style ultra violent. It occurred to me order online a video and got my hands on a special struggles pure ‘Death Match’; I really liked the style and thought, why not do that here in Guadalajara? to see if people believe again in the struggle.

Record has an interview with Dos Caras Sr. about his acupuncture training (presumably not from YouTube.)

DJ Spectro. looks back at an Anabel, Rayo de Jalisco, El Solitario and La Momia mask match.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Lineup

2) Horus, Metálico, Starman vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Sujei, Zeuxis
4) Blue Panther, Metro, Rush vs Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis

Eh.

CMLL (FRI) 02/26 Arena Mexico

5) La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Místico, Negro Casas

Mistico with the Peste Negra; things have changed. I like that tecnico trio as a new Super Sky Team.

Is Maximo a rudo now, or does he just go rudo whenever Mr. Niebla is around? No lighting match, which may by why there’s a rare tercera in the opener. (Or maybe Bracito and Warrior is happening sooner than we thought?)

CMLL (SUN) 02/28 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Apolo Estrada Jr. & Disturbio
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Cancerbero, Nosferatu, Raziel

Really hoping the segunda makes 52MX.

  1. BTW Cubs, el idolo de la internet – BlackTerryJr – is uploading the entire Calo show to his page in perfect quality so if you really are desperate to see ACM footage you should record that. Tim will be very sad if you miss a Gato Fantasma match.

  2. It’s strange because the fly-out in the Mexico section that brought me to Galavision 9 is now showing Mexican soccer on Azteca 13.

  3. It’s working for me, on Chrome of all things. But it’s not showing Fox Sports.

I assume they’re not as much channels as theorticial ones. You’re probably better of searching justin.tv directly.

Just flipping thru LuchaMania AAA (MEX TV) from last weekend and saw both Hotsuff Hernadnez in AAA in 2006 GdT, and Muerte Cibernetico being put in a coffin. They cut out the fire/burial at sea part :( Slight reminder of why Mesias might not be a big fan of ol’ Cibernetico.

  4. Seems like they are having a bunch of issues today on this site. From what I’m reading on the chat with the mods, they are working on each channel one at a time.

  5. @thecubsfan: So you were able to get TVC? If yes, I’m going to have to try to get some sort of add-on or find another computer in this house that has IE.

  6. Just finished watching the Fox Sports show from today and the Casas/Fantasma match was very good. The Poder Mexica match was fine, but nothing spectacular given who was in it. If the second fall wasn’t clipped, it was ridiculously short.

  7. Plugin seems safe – it’s just the normal Windows Media Player extension from Microsoft. Most people don’t use that any more, but it still should be OK.

Unfortunately, no one’s broadcasting now, so I can’t tell if it’s actually working.

The Toro show was what actually was listed in my programming guide, so it looks like it is correct and the ad they’re buying in Ovaciones every day is incorrect. Fine work!

It doesn’t list a lucha libre show for next Saturday (and obviously it was too late to find out about this one), but I’ve got the time slot taped. I like the idea of a Saturday Morning show, since I’ve already got to deal with 5 different Saturday night ones.

  8. Oh, right, it’s on TEFEI at 1pm CT for an hour, then at 9 with a 45 minute show (?). But it also looks like a channel my TiVo is having slight issues with (like MEXTV) so maybe never mind.

  9. Watching Ras de Lona this morning, and Negro Casas is claiming to be a triple champion. He only showed the two CMLL belts, but I *think* he said UWA Welter. (It was definitely a Welterweight title.)

I think I’m going to ignore this, but when Ras de Lona gets on the internet this week, someone please let me know if I’m understanding this correctly.

  10. Be interesting to see if Ras de Lona has highlights from Friday Arena Mexico that isn’t hand held. Last week was hand held. I think that happens because they rush to get that footage before airing.

  11. @thecubsfan: good. last week it wasn’t and the card for Arena Mexico didn’t have Magadan, or anyone, reading the lineup. that usually means they hurried to get the show done.

  12. @Alfredo: Yes. LATV still has Ras de Lona on Friday at 8p EST.

LATV still airs repeats of CMLL. Last night they had Arena Coliseo footage with Dos Caras Jr, Blue Panther, and Volador Jr. in the main event, plus a women’s match.

I missed Ras de Lona b/c I went out to Plant City for FCW, so I had to watch it on internet. I didn’t see Dos Caras.

  13. Watching AAA on tv from Mexico and it seems like they are going over kill on the vignettes/back stage scenes. Also, WTF LaserBoy gets his ass beat by a trio of no names. Why the Hell would you promote the poor guy on your site only to squash him. Gotta love Mexican wrestling!

  14. @Gonzalez:

God I hate Joe Lider and Nicho. They give or take so many bumps that you become immune to the moves and they are not that shocking anymore.

  15. Alex Koslov seems to have been working on his spanish because he was very clear when he challenged Extreme Tiger on the live mic and also backstage. That or AAA bought new equipment.
