AAA, Mexico, CMLL in Latin America, UG

Worth considering, now that we’re in 2009:

First AAA taping of the year:
2009/01/18 Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, Guanajuato
2008/01/19 Parque De Beisbol José Aguilar y Maya, Guanajuato
2007/01/13 Plaza de Toros El Pinal
2006/01/15 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
2005/01/23 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
2004/01/18 Salamanca, Guanajuato
2003/02/01 Toluca, Estado de Mexico
2002/01/19 Ciudad Sahagun, Hidalgo
2001/01/16 Pachuca, Hidalgo

We know the AAA movie debuts on 01/22, and they won’t be taping on that day, and maybe not the weekend. Maybe something on the January 14-16 weekend? Which might mean it gets announced next week?

CMLL’s Friday night show exists just to run the show; doesn’t look like it’ll air anywhere. ESTO pitches it as Mascara Dorada trying to start 2010 on the right foot.

SuperLuchas noted a YouTube channel of CMLL promos for it’s TV show on various Latin American countries. Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela (on Venevision, which I believe is carried in the US), Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Honduras, Panama, and for DirectTV Latin America.

Thing to note:
– these videos appear to be at least 15 months old, because the Perros del Mal all over them
– in the comments, people posting from those countries note CMLL is not actually on there

These must’ve been promotional clips went out long ago, in hopes of getting on these networks.

Fuego en el Ring and SuperLuchas both have quotes from the same interview with Ultimo Guerrero. Not a lot new – Guerreros are united, Liger already knows how good he is, he’d still like a mask match with Villano 4, and he’s working to stay a star for many more years. In slightly new info, he’d like to give Misterioso that title match to test him, and he thinks the CMLL New Era stuff means more young wrestlers being brought into (an already young) roster. Ultimo says there are 5 schools of trainees trying to crack thru.

AAA looks back thru May, June and July and notes there poll saying fans most want to see La Parka win the title in 2010. Odd that Wagner wasn’t even a choice.

Mr. Niebla’s New Year’s Resolution: not to take a bath.

SuperLuchas has a top 10 wrestler of the decade poll: Mistico, Shawn Michaels, Dr. Wagner Jr., LA Park, Kurt Angel, El Mesias, Keiji Muto, the Undertaker, Mascarita Dorada, and Blue Demon Jr. LA Park sticks out most as the one least belonging on the list, but they point to his XLAW title (which is no big surprise.)
