1) Titanio b El Divino
2) Metatrón & Saturno b Exterminador & Malefico
3) Gallo & Metal Blanco b Ángel del Mal & Ebola
4) Shigeo Okumura & Vangelis b Ángel de Oro & Ángel de Plata
5) Brazo de Plata, La Máscara, Volador Jr. b Averno, Mephisto, Rey Bucanero

Rey Bucanero replaced Ephesto, got squashed by Porky for the loss.

While Incognito has been pretty much confirmed as one part of a (unmasked) local tag team on ECW two weeks ago, SuperLuchas wonders if his tag team partner might have been Super Nova.

CMLL (SUN) 01/03 Arena Coliseo
1) Principe & Súper Camaleón vs Cholo & Ramstein
2) Metálico, Molotov, Sensei vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada vs Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior
4) Flash, Leono, Rush vs Cancerbero, Raciel, Virus
5) Brazo de Plata, Shocker, Toscano vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Ray Mendoza Jr., Rey Bucanero

That’s a weak semimain event. Maybe they’re adding a match and changing the card (Ramstein in a match always seems like a fakeout) , but there’s no obvious match to be added.

Mexico, IWRG, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 12/25 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Cesar]
1) Camorra & Inquisidor b Delta & Trueno
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela DQ Hiroka, La Comandante, Princesa Sujei
3) Sangre Azteca b Fuego [lightning]
4) Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior b Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Shockercito
5) La Máscara, Sagrado, Valiente b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
6) Brazo de Plata, Místico, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

ESTO says good attendance, though it’s hard to know what exactly that means for the gate, given all the free tickets. Porky sat on Atlantis for the pinfall in the main event. DQ in the semimain was for Hiroka accidentally kicking the referee when aiming for Marcela.

In other Christmas shows – haven’t seen results yet, but Black Terry Jr.’s pictures indicate the Oficials retained their IWRG trios titles.

Charly Manson talks about his feud with X-Fly to TabascoHoy. Wonder where they’ll end up doing that hair match.

Cronicas Y Leyendas writes about Latin Lover’s debut and Satanico taking Kato Kung Lee’s hair.

Poder Mexica has to win this, but I’m totally unsure they will.

2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo

They built the lighting match up, which is a bit surprising. Nothing much eles going on.

CMLL 2009, Garza, links

Cesar’s 2009 CMLL in review turns into an epic rant on the complete failures of all the independent promotions.

Hector Garza is willing to risk not just the trios championships versus the Guerreros, but Fantasma and Mascara’s masks. I’m sure his teammates really appreciate that.

Cronicas Y Leyendas looks at
Perro Sr. vs Faron in 1978, and Perro Sr. & Faraon teaming in 1985. Things change. Also, Fishman winning back the welterweight title in 1977, and Canek, wrestler of the year 1978.

Not much today, obviously. Probably a recap a little later.

12/19-20 Lucha Times

box. And while I’m posting

AAA-US: Last taping before GdT, so more Mesias/Wagner, plus Aero/Fabi vs Billy/Sexi underneath.

52MX: The CMLL MVS shows are due for a reshuffling, but right now it looks like this’ll be Air Force/Roush vs Militia/Disturbio, and a grab bag main event

IWRG: Traumas/Veneno vs Angelico/Bushi/Suicida, plus Hijo de Cien Caras/Piratasa vs Canek, Pantera, Scorpio

AAA LuchaMania: still in late August/early September 2006. Last week was the Alliens debut, this week continues with them, the dreamer tournament, and Parka vs Muerte Cibernetico.

By the way, this went up even later because of all the time it takes to investiage where these matcehs are coming from. They air out of order, and often from different tapings. I don’t really know what they’re doing here, though it does seem like some matches are shown more complete than they aired in the US originally.

CMLL: top 3, probably a lot of comedy

AAA-MEX: remainder from GdT – the two title matches, and the #1 contenders match. Pretty safe bet Konnan/Cibernetico gets reshown to fill time as well. If you check out the stream, let me know if they hint at what they’ll air next week.

CMLL-FOX: Women’s trios plus Sombra/Mistico/Shocker vs Pesta Negra. It’d seem like they’d ship that fued over to 52MX, but they just did both ttitle matches here lsat week so who knows.

AAA-FOX: repeat week. STILL can not find new listings for this channel. Way to redesign.

C3: Depends on how long those tournament matches were. Given how long they’re usually around here, there would seem to be room for the opener to air.

Puebla: moved back to the 10 pm slot this week. Sangre/Fantasma’s the obvious headliner.

Monterrey: top 3?

UG/Averno to NJPW, Poder Mexica, Puebla

New Japan has posted their final lineup for the 01/04 Tokyo Dome show. Averno & Ultimo Guerrero will be getting a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles, versus current champions Ryusuke Taguchi and Prince Devitt. A title change seems pretty unlikely, but it should be a good match.

The thing is – and I tried to explain this once today and failed so don’t expect much – CMLL is so strict about separation between tecnicos and rudos. So much so they can’t be seen together on all the foreign tour highlights they show, and that the editing pretends they tecnicos and rudos might have taken separate flights all the way from Mexico City to France. Here, in an actual match, two guys who should be feuding will be teaming up and CMLL has no problem with it. I’m not sure if that means they just see rudo/rudo as a different thing, or if they’ve just dropped the Hijo de Avernos/Guerreros feud without telling anyone (and at the oddest time, since Rey Bucanero returning should’ve actually heated it up again.)

Sangre Azteca thinks Poder Mexica is in the tournament for the Mexican Trios championship. Just by the numbers, he might be right, but we’ll see. Meanwhile, Misterioso is demanding a shot at Ultimo Guerrero’s heavyweight championship. Misterioso does seem like he’s moved up weight divisions lately.

The NWA emailed me – and SuperLuchas, apparently – to say the Auditorio Muncipal de Tampico show poster is a fraud. It did seem like a odd way for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship to be defended (though guys like Loco Castillo are regularly in that area and that building), and the NWA would know Blue Demon’s schedule better than the rest of us.

The Gladiatores has interviews with Eduardo Soto & Marcos Medina from EAW, Psicosis II, Capitan Muerte, and Zatura.

AAA has it’s look back at Feburary 2009, including the big Silver King turn on on La Parka Jr., which got paid off with – I dunno. They were both in the cage match, they talked about a mask match, that’s about it.

Estrellas del Ring look at 2009 for Los Pierroths.

Proyeccion Luchistica has his pick for Rudo of 2009.

Cesar previews CMLL’s Christmas Day card. Lineup, I mean. I would like a preview of any lucha holiday greeting card, but I’m thinking no on that one.

CMLL (MON) 12/28 Arena Puebla
1) Black Tiger & Centella de Oro vs Mr. Rafaga & Sauron
2) Apocalipsis, Puma King, Tiger Kid vs Delta, Molotov, Trueno
3) Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo vs Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata
4) Metro, Sagrado, Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Euforia, Shigeo Okumura
5) Rey Bucanero, Sangre Azteca, Último Guerrero vs La Máscara, Místico, Shocker

AAA #914 (11/28)

taped at Gimansio Miguel Hidalgo, Poza Rica, Veracruz on 10/30/2009

Crazy Boy, Decnnis, Gato Eveready vs Rió Bravo, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana – still not as good as the early matches were, but Decnnis finally gets a win on the tecnico side. (And promptly vanishes.)

Fabi Apache, Gran Apache, Mari Apache vs Rain, Sexy Star, Teddy Hart – So great. I guess this is not a ***** match by conventional means, but this was 10 minutes of fun. While I’m being crazy – I’d much rather see something like this match again than another Teddy/Jack match. Teddy/Jack holds no surprises (and maybe that can be fixed, but I don’t expect it to be), Teddy versus Mari Apache or Teddy vs Gronda or Teddy vs Monster Clown is surprising and still holds interest to me.

Laredo Kid, Octagón, Súper Fly vs Joe Lider, Mantra, Nicho el Millionario – this is how I will remember Mantra

Marco Corleone, Pimpinela Escarlata, Rocky Romero vs Alex Koslov, Teddy Hart, Zorro – normal Hijo de Tirantes stuff. Points for trying to explain the Zorro/Legion realliance before this, though they really needed to do it in front of the crowd.

Dr. Wagner Jr., Electroshock, Último Gladiador vs El Mesías, Extreme Tiger, La Parka Jr. & part 2 – Amazing booking. Mesias is getting the shot, and maybe they had decided he was going to win the title here – so why does he lose to Wagner’s move (plus a foul) here? Having Roldan give Mesias the title shot makes Mesias look very unworthy. Mesias just got regularly treated like a chump for this whole Wagner title reign, and it wasn’t help a tough sell.

Also, it’s a month later, and I still have no idea why Ultimo Gladiador wrestled with his mask off for a minute, and no one said anything. I still don’t know why he has his mask on! It’s all insane. This is all absurd.
