Mexico, IWRG, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 12/25 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Cesar]
1) Camorra & Inquisidor b Delta & Trueno
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela DQ Hiroka, La Comandante, Princesa Sujei
3) Sangre Azteca b Fuego [lightning]
4) Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior b Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Shockercito
5) La Máscara, Sagrado, Valiente b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
6) Brazo de Plata, Místico, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

ESTO says good attendance, though it’s hard to know what exactly that means for the gate, given all the free tickets. Porky sat on Atlantis for the pinfall in the main event. DQ in the semimain was for Hiroka accidentally kicking the referee when aiming for Marcela.

In other Christmas shows – haven’t seen results yet, but Black Terry Jr.’s pictures indicate the Oficials retained their IWRG trios titles.

Charly Manson talks about his feud with X-Fly to TabascoHoy. Wonder where they’ll end up doing that hair match.

Cronicas Y Leyendas writes about Latin Lover’s debut and Satanico taking Kato Kung Lee’s hair.

  1. Sounds like the Lightning Match last night only went 5 minutes so plenty of time for it to make TV if they want. Can’t wait to (hopefully) see the mini’s b/c they supposedly tore it down and sounds like there were some neat spots.

BlackTerryJr’s photos are AWESOME! So many Arlequins doing dives onto each other!

I’m gonna calm you down now and tell you exactly how Block B of the tournament is going to occur much like I called it last week.

    Valiente/Delta/Leono over Cometa/Pegasso/Diamante
    Poder Mexica over Maximo/Rouge/Fabian
    FINAL: Poder Mexica over Valiente/Delta/Leono

Stuka/Metro/Dorada vs Poder Mexica is like your standard Tuesday semi-main or fourth match on Friday so it makes total sense as the final. Meanwhile the gay/strippers team always matches up against the Poder Mexica so that’s a lock for a first round match.

Quite the hilarity that Leono, Rouge, Fabian, Diamante and Delta are in a National Title tournament though.

I like the Tuesday main event.

As much as the Friday main event looks good on paper – would it have killed the bookers to have Dorada work the fourth match with his partners WHO WILL BE CHALLENGING FOR THE TRIOS TITLES 4 DAYS LATER??? Maximo wouldn’t even look out of place in that main event either. So retarded.

Segunda on Friday is clearly a battle of the losers.

  2. The finals of Block B could be good as long as they keep Leono out of the ring, & Valiente & Delta in as much as possible.
” 6) Brazo de Plata, Máscara Dorada, Místico vs Mephisto, Terrible, Texano Jr.” What a better way to ring in the new year, than with Mascara Dorada & Mistico in the Main Event.

  3. 52MX has

Amapola, La Comandante, Yezca vs Lluvia, Marcela, Star Fire
Sagrado, Toscano, Valiente vs Rey Bucanero, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura

  4. IWRG may have skipped a week again, or I’m off on the 12/13 results. Let me figure this out in a half hour.

  5. LOL! Jury curled luchador is being called Veneno by one (despite Veneno also being in the match) and the other called him Trauma…

    Apparently its Trauma II. WHAT?

    Results say its Trauma I….

Looks different, but the submission spots suggests its definitely a Trauma.

  6. I meant ‘jerry curls’. Its Trauma II.

Angelico looks ridiculously tall when he stands with his team.

I think IWRG is using a different camera ringside. Looks different.

  7. Calm down, Keith. You’ll at least be happy to know the ratings you supply us with that get sent to Meltzer than SuperLuchas uses and credits to the Observer instead of you or Cubs’ website have now appeared on the Box y Lucha forum and will surely cause it to implode by daybreak tomorrow.

  8. Yea, that was Trauma II. Must’ve missed the change but obviously make sense given Trauma i in the main event.

It is the 12/20 show (so they did skip a week!), becuase the main event is the fathers/sons match, joined in progress right before Hijo del Pantera’s elimiantion (and seemingly clipped)

  9. I like how IWRG’s show just ends out of nowhere. They just start playing the music and it leads to that commercial about curling irons and that’s it.

    good match!!

  11. Arena Mexico HATES Leono. As he submits Tiger Kid to end the third fall, the “fans” erupt with boos. I laugh as the Cadena Tres babyface commentator states that it’s a great victory for these “jovenes”.

  12. @J. Corzo Cubby: Leono’s in quite the shitty position. He got the superpush and failed miserably. Fans hate him. Only fans that MIGHT have cheered for him now are women and young girls but they have many other Leono-esque wrestlers to cheer for so he’s just fucked. Good for him he has job security.

  13. The entire tournament really wasn’t that hot. Rebeldes match was terrible in particular. Lots of blown spots in every match. Metro/Polvora really got exposed as not being ready but maybe it was just an off night for both. Finish to the final was impressive though with each rudo being taken out at the same time.

  14. @Rob: I think you’re right in pointing out that Ocampo waited until he could bash CMLL.

It’s sad b/c CMLL is about the lowest rated show on all over-the-air free television on weekends. All the garbage on Azteca that gets no ratings in the US, is destroying CMLL in Mexico. AAA is not doing that much better. American Gladiatores is beating both CMLL and AAA. It’s that bad.

  15. So part 2 of WON’s doube-issue came out. WON is saying that he thinks CMLL is in trouble with Televisa and that Perro Jr will get the slot. If CMLL did leave Televisa, it would not hurt them one bit in Mexico City where they already have 28, Fox, and 52mx, with all channels being available on most cable systems around the country too. Television has changed in Mexico, and Televisa is no longer the only show in town.

If anyone sees pics of AAA at the Polar Restaurant, Neza, or Oceania, please link.

  16. @LLL: Just to clear it up – the article on the SuperLuchas page wasn’t posted by Ernesto or Jorge O’Campo. It was just someone who contributes to the site and wanted to take a shot at CMLL it seems.

As for the Perro Jr./CMLL Televisa note in the WON… the less said about that the better.
