Monterrey, Fabi’s haircut, Poder Mexica, new Vipers

indy (SUN) 12/13 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) Furor, Lover Boy, Solovino b Angel Dorado Jr., Gato Fantasma, Sky
2) Astro Negro Jr., Bengali, Dark Shadow, Koko Viper b Coliseo 2000, Gato Volador, Hijo del Ninja, Zodaico
3) Diluvio Negro II, Potro Jr., Tigre Universitario b Difunto I, Difunto II, Vaquero Romo, X-Fly
4) Black Spirit, LA Park, Super Parka b Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, X-Fly
5) Pierko el Boricua L Silver Star and Diluvio Negro I [mask]

You may want to sit down for this: it turns out that Pierko el Boricua is actually the former Salsero! Silver Star gets credit for the win.

Due to Hijo de Rey Misterio & Incognito being elsewhere (across the border for the WWE show?), semimain turned into a Parka trios act. Not sure if Black Spirit has given in yet and admitted the relationship there.

Black Terry Jr. updated his flickr page with photos from the AAA show, which include Fabi Apache with her new short haircut. Not bald. Go check out his photos from Day 2 and Day 1 too.

FMLL says they drew 20,000 people over the weekend. I thought the temporary arena sat 4,000, which would leave a lot of people who just walked around the booths on the outside. Whatever the number, they clearly did well and surely will be running another edition in 2010 (where Mistico will defend his title.)

ESTO illustrates their story about the AAA FMLL show with a picture of Dr. Wagner Jr. unmasked.

They also write about Sangre Azteca & Nitro in France. Sangre got the winning pin to defend Mexico’s honor against France, then requested a title shot when he comes back to Europe. SuperLuchas trumps that with an interview with Sangre Azteca himself. On Black Warrior, Sangre says he respects Warrior very much and can not speak to what’s going on with Warrior, but he’s happy to be teaming with Dragon Rojo and Misterioso II because they all have the same ambitions and think alike. Not hard to read into that.

AAA posted the first picture of the new Vipers. Rumors over on SML about the new Vipers say the Mexico City Toxico may be the new Psicosis III. It’s also noted there that Toxico teams with Paranokio all the time on DTU shows, so he’d make sense for Histeria III. Toxico is supposed to be in Thursday’s IWRG mask cage match, and then on Sunday’s IWRG show as well, but would seem to be unlikely to do both those and AAA TV.

CMLL’s made a slight change to Friday’s card. Inquisidor drops to the opener, replacing Escorpion. Loco Max works the segunda instead.

BBN3 has a video report on Denver lucha libre.

Estrella del Ring writes about Arena Isabel’s Sunady show. Pequeno Leopardo beat Icaro for his mask in the finals of a ruleta de la muerte. Icaro is Adan Morales Mendoza, 24, and appears to be the last person to ever lose his mask in this soon to be closed building.

Fuego en el Ring talks to Estrellita Magica, who wants to win Princesa Sujei’s mask and Amapola’s hair. It’s good to dream. They’ve also got an interview with Mesias, who wants to see what happened with him and Latin.

My friend on Twitter, AAA, hypes the Xtreme Tiger & Jack Evans tag team this Friday, and mentions Billy on the radio tonight. Note that Teddy & Jack working this Friday’s AAA TV taping is why they got pulled from this Friday’s ROH show. Alex and Rocky are still working both shows.

R de Rudo interviews Cadaver de Ultratumba Jr., who has been out a year and is feuding with Ultimo Dragoncito. Who knew?

Cesar picks his top CMLL female wrestler of the year.

Slam has a review of the new Rey Mistersio Jr. autobiography.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update. Also, Ras de Lona has STRONG MAN PULLING A BUS.

  1. Ratings are back. AAA is back in the lead, but to me, AAA was always the television promotion that was supposed to get monster ratings, and now they sometimes lose to CMLL, or can’t beat them by a full point.

    National
    CMLL 2.8
    AAA 3.6

    Mexico City
    CMLL 3.0
    AAA 3.9

  2. @LLL:

Why? I mean CMLL has been around for what 70 years and AAA only 18 or so years? CMLL should have a huge built in audience over the years and unlike AAA, they haven’t drastically changed their style. Plus with no one showing up at the shows, I would think they would watch it on tv more.

  3. What do I need to leave out in order to get Santa Porky is come to my house on Christmas Eve? A booking?

  4. So Fabi was in a Mask .vs. Haircut match? That’s not fair. If that happened when Charly was asked to put his hair on the line then he would have stayed. lol maybe.

  5. “CMLL (FRI) 12/18 Arena Isabel Cuernavaca, Morelos

Can’t wait till you do results from this show.:D
